Supervisory Controller for Power Management of AC/DC Microgrid

Research Abstract
This paper proposes a hybrid AC/DC micro grid to reduce the processes of multiple conversions in an individual AC or DC micro-grid. The hybrid grid consists of both AC and DC networks connected together by a bidirectional AC/DC converter. Wind generator, AC loads, and utility are connected to the AC bus whereas PV system and DC loads are tied to the DC bus. The coordination control algorithms of supervisor controller are proposed for smooth power transfer between AC and DC links and for stable system operation under various generation and load conditions. In this paper, a flexible supervisor controller is developed for a hybrid AC/DC microgrid, where the power flow in the micro-grid is supervised based on demanded power with maximum utilization of renewable resources. A small hybrid micro-grid has been modeled and simulated using the Simulink in the MATLAB. The simulation results show that the system can maintain stable under load variations.

Simulated Annealing Modeling and Analog MPPT
Simulation for Standalone Photovoltaic Arrays

Research Abstract
This paper proposes a method for modeling and simulation of photovoltaic arrays. The method is used to obtain the parameters of the array model using its datasheet information. To reduce computational time, the input parameters are reduced to four and the values of shunt resistance Rp and series resistance Rs are estimated by simulated annealing optimization method. Then we draw I-V and P-V curves at different irradiance levels. Lowcomplexityanalogue MPPT circuit can be developed by using two voltage approximation lines (VALs) that approximate the maximum power point (MPP) locus.In this paper, a fast and low-cost analog MPPT method for low power PVsystems is proposed.The Simulation results coincide with experimental results at different PV systems to validate the powerful of the proposed method.

توثيق التراث العمراني باستخدام تقنيات الواقع الافتراضي – الفرص والتحديات

Research Abstract
تمثل عملية توثيق التراث العمراني أحد الإجراءات الأولية الهامة في منظومة الحفاظ على التراث العمراني واستدامته إذا تعرض للتلف أو للتهدم أو للاندثار، وتتمثل أهمية هذا البحث في كونه محاولة للتعرف على إمكانية استخدام التقنيات المختلفة لتوثيق التراث العمراني مع التركيز على تقنيات العمارة الافتراضية والواقع الافتراضي كأداة توثيق وإظهار ثلاثية البعد للتراث المعماري والعمراني بالإضافة إلى ما يمكن أن تلعبه عملية التوثيق هذه من أدوار تتجاوز ذلك. ويتمثل السؤال المحوري للبحث في ماهي أهم الفرص التي يتيحها استخدام تقنيات الواقع الافتراضي في توثيق المباني والبيئات التراثية والتحديات التي تواجه هذا الاستخدام؟، هذا بالإضافة إلى بعض الأسئلة الثانوية التي تقود لتقديم إجابة على هذا السؤال. ويتمثل الهدف الرئيسي للبحث في تقديم إجابة على السؤال المحوري للبحث من خلال دراسة الفرص التي تتيحها عملية استخدام تقنيات الواقع الافتراضي في توثيق المباني والبيئات التراثية والتحديات التي تواجه هذا الاستخدام بالإضافة الى بعض الأهداف الفرعية المتمثلة في تقديم إجابات على الأسئلة الثانوية للبحث. ويستخدم البحث المنهج الوصفي التحليلي في دراسة التكنولوجيات المستخدمة في عملية توثيق المباني والبيئات التراثية، ثم وصف التطور في مجال الواقع الافتراضي والبيئات الافتراضية ومتطلباتها ومجالات تطبيقها المختلفة. يلي ذلك وصف وتحليل تجارب استخدام العمارة الافتراضية لمحاكاة وتوثيق التراث المعماري والعمراني. ثم استخدام المنهج الاستقرائي في استقراء الفرص والتحديات التي تواجه الاستفادة من التوثيق الإلكتروني للبيئات التراثية بتقنيات العمارة الافتراضية. ولتحقيق الهدف من البحث، فأن الدراسة تتناول مقدمة فيها أهمية البحث والتساؤلات البحثية وهدف البحث، ثم تتناول الدراسة التكنولوجيات المستخدمة في عملية توثيق المباني والبيئات التراثية، ثم الواقع الافتراضي والبيئات الافتراضية ومتطلباتها ومجالات تطبيقها المختلفة ثم تجارب استخدام تقنيات الواقع الافتراضي لمحاكاة وتوثيق التراث المعماري والعمراني. وتختتم الدراسة بمناقشة لأهم الفرص والتحديات التي تواجه الاستفادة من التوثيق الإلكتروني للبيئات التراثية بتقنيات العمارة الافتراضية.
