The launch of the "labor market penetration" program to qualify young people and provide real employment opportunities at Assiut University starting from April 22

As part of the state's efforts to empower young people and qualify them for the labor market, the Ministry of Social Solidarity announced the start of the "labor market penetration" program, which will be held under the umbrella of the ministries of higher education and scientific research and the Ministry of social solidarity, under the auspices of Dr. Mohammed Ayman Ashour, Minister of higher education and scientific research, Dr. Maya Morsi, Minister of social solidarity, and Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, during the period from April 22 to 29, 2025.

 

The program is organized by the social solidarity unit at Assiut University, and supervised by the Sawiris Foundation for social development, in cooperation with Edge Education company. The program aims to qualify more than 2,000 students for the labor market, in addition to providing more than 1,000 actual job opportunities through a job fair that will be held at the end of the event.

 

The program includes the provision of specialized trainings in various fields aligned with the needs of the labor market, such as digital marketing (Digital Marketing), e-commerce (E-commerce), banking and the Financial Sector (Banking), Fintech (fintech), Human Resources (HR & Talent Acquisition), Business Development (Business Development), content creation (Content Creation).

 

At the end of the program, the trainees receive accredited certificates under the supervision of a group of specialists and experts in their fields, including: Mr. Ahmed Rashad – founder of business in Arabic, Dr. Emad Qatara – an expert in the banking sector, Dr. Yahya Othman – an expert in digital marketing, Mr. Ahmed Magrabi – e – commerce expert, Mr. Mohammed Al – cloth – a specialist in financial technology, Ms. Siham Rafat – an expert in talent acquisition, Ms. Rania Magdy – a specialist in the commercial sector, Ms. Zeinab Reda-a specialist in interface development, Ms Alia Ali-content strategist.

Within the framework of the spirit of brotherhood and love that unites the Sons of the one homeland, Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, participated in the celebrations of the Christian Brothers of the glorious resurrection day, today, Sunday, April 20, through successive visits to a number of churches in Assiut governorate to offer congratulations on this blessed occasion.

 

Dr. El-Minshawy began his tour by visiting the headquarters of the Coptic Orthodox archbishopric in abnoub, where he was received by His Holiness Bishop besanti, Bishop of the Eparchy of abnoub, Fatah, and New Assiut, and the abbot of the martyr Marmina monastery in Mount abnoub, and a number of Father bishops, amid a welcome and love atmosphere.

 

The rector of the university then went to the Coptic Catholic Archdiocese of Assiut, where he was received by His Eminence Daniel Lotfi, the Coptic Catholic archbishop, a number of fathers, priests and human rights figures, and congratulations were exchanged and the unity of the national class was emphasized.

 

This was followed by a visit to the Coptic Orthodox Archdiocese of Assiut, where he was received by His Eminence Bishop Yoannes of Assiut and its followers, a number of Father priests and prominent religious figures.Dr. El-Minshawy expressed his pride in the strong relations that bind the Egyptian people with their different spectrums.

 

The tour also included a visit to the second evangelical church, where the rector congratulated the Reverend Rafik Thabet, the pastor of the church, and participated in the festive atmosphere that reflects the spirit of national fraternity.

 

The president of the University concluded his tour by visiting the first evangelical church, where he congratulated pastor Basem Adly, the pastor of the church, stressing the University's keenness to actively participate in all events that bring Egyptians to the heart of one man.

 

Dr. El-Minshawy stressed that such events represent a renewed opportunity to show feelings of affection and appreciation among the compatriots, and that the exchange of congratulations between Muslims and Christians reflects the unity of the Egyptian people and promotes hope for a more stable and prosperous future under the wise leadership of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.

 

He pointed out that the message of Egypt, expressed by His Excellency President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, is a message of peace, and that the Egyptian state is based on the foundations of citizenship and equality among all its children, and respects the Constitution, which guarantees equal opportunities.

 

He praised the national role played by the church in promoting the culture of tolerance and coexistence, stressing that Assiut University will remain a shining model of national unity.

 

For their side, the pastors and church leaders thanked and appreciated Dr. Ahmed Al-Minshawy for his keenness to congratulate and participate in the celebration, praising the prestigious position occupied by Assiut University at the local and international levels.

Dr. El-Minshawy Commends the Success of a Medical Team at Assiut University Heart Hospital in Saving the Life of a Child Who Suffered From A Foreign Body In Her Bronchial Tubes, and Reaffirms the University Hospitals’ Support for Ministry of Health Hospitals to Serve Upper Egypt.

Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, President of Assiut University, praised the success of a specialized medical team from the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery at the University Heart Hospital in saving the life of a six-year-old girl who had been suffering from chronic respiratory symptoms for over six months due to the presence of a foreign body in her airways. The object was successfully removed while fully preserving the condition of the lung without the need for resection.

Dr. El-Minshawy affirmed that this successful intervention reflects the competence and expertise of the medical team at Assiut University Hospitals, which is distinguished by its high-level skills in performing complex and delicate surgical procedures, especially in critical and complicated cases. He also praised their quick response and careful handling of the case from the moment it was received until it was fully stabilized and recovered.

The University President pointed out that this success comes within the framework of the fruitful and continuous cooperation between Assiut University hospitals and the Ministry of Health hospitals, which aims to unify efforts and provide the best levels of health care to the people of Upper Egypt. He added that the university hospitals spare no effort in providing technical and advisory support to the Ministry of Health hospitals, within the framework of its pioneering community and developmental role.

The medical report revealed that the child had arrived at Assiut's Chest Hospital, under the supervision of Dr. Mohamed Zein, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, suffering from chronic chest infections and lung shunts. After conducting tests and x-rays, a foreign body was found inside her airways, and she was transferred to Assiut University Heart Hospital at Assiut University.

The medical team, led by Professor Dr. Mohamed Ayyad, Head of the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery, and Dr. Mohamed Farouk, Lecturer of Cardiothoracic Surgery, along with a team of nurses and technicians, performed a diagnostic bronchoscopy, where it was discovered that a "pen plug" was lodged inside the airways, causing the child to suffer throughout that period. A delicate surgical intervention was performed to extract the foreign body with complete success, without any complications, to stabilize the child's condition and begin the recovery phase.

Dr. El-Minshawy reaffirmed that Assiut University Hospitals are operating at full capacity to provide comprehensive medical care and are committed to strengthening cooperation with the Ministry of Health to ensure the widest possible access to medical services across Upper Egypt, in line with the university’s mission to support comprehensive health development in the community.

Assiut University organizes the fourth training program for faculty members in the field of governance and anti-corruption in cooperation with administrative control

  As part of its permanent commitment to spreading the culture of integrity and consolidating governance concepts, Assiut University organized the fourth stage of the training program for faculty members in the field of governance and anti-corruption, under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of the University, and in cooperation with the Administrative Control Authority and the National Academy for anti-corruption, at the headquarters of the Administrative Control Authority, under the supervision of Major General Sherif Ramzi, head of the administrative control office in Assiut.

  This program is an extension of a series of activities and training programs adopted by Assiut University to enhance the capabilities of its members, spread awareness of the risks of corruption, and work to establish a university environment based on the principles of transparency and responsibility.

  The activities of the program extended during the period from April 13 to 15, under the supervision of Dr. Mohammed Adawi, advisor to the president of the University for alumni affairs, entrepreneurship and innovation, and director of the Center for future studies, and with the participation of 30 trainees from the University's faculty members.

  Dr. El-Minshawy stressed that Assiut University attaches great importance to promoting a culture of integrity among all its members, pointing out that the university is keen to organize training programs, awareness initiatives, and student activities aimed at building a university community based on values, and enhances the spirit of commitment and transparency.

Dr. El-Minshawy also appreciated the effective and fruitful cooperation between the University, the Administrative Control Authority, and the National Anti-Corruption Academy, because of its pivotal role in supporting national efforts to combat corruption and empowering members of the university community with modern governance tools.

For his side, Dr. Mohamed Adawi explained that the program witnessed the participation of a group of experts and academics specialized in the field of anti-corruption, and addressed several vital topics, including the causes and effects of corruption, the role of the Administrative Control Authority, the legislative and institutional framework to combat corruption, Egypt's Vision 2030, the information structure of the state, the relationship between corruption and national security, along with business ethics and management, and the role of governance as an effective mechanism to reduce corruption.

Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, witnessed on Tuesday, April 15, the closing events of the second phase of the specialized training program for university administrative staff in the fields of governance and anti-corruption, which was organized by the University in cooperation with the National Academy for anti-corruption and the Administrative Control Authority, in the presence of Major General Sherif Ramzi, head of the administrative control office in Assiut, and under the supervision of Colonel Fouad Darwish, representative of the National Anti-Corruption Academy.

The program was held under the follow-up of Dr. Mohammed Adawi, advisor to the president of the University for Alumni Affairs, entrepreneurship and Innovation and director of the Center for Future Studies, Professor Shawkat Saber, secretary general of the University, and Dr. Mustafa Morsi, coordinator of the National Academy at the University, in the presence of Dr. Amal Al-Faqi, lecturer at the Faculty of Graduate Studies at the Arab Academy for science and technology.

In his speech, Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy expressed his deep thanks and appreciation to Major General Sherif Ramzi, head of the administrative control office in Assiut, and Colonel Fouad Darwish, representative of the National Anti-Corruption Academy, praising their outstanding efforts, their diligent follow-up and their great support, which had the greatest impact on the success of the training program activities. He stressed that this distinguished participation reflects the keenness of the Egyptian state to enhance institutional awareness and consolidate the principles of transparency and integrity in its various institutions.

Dr. El-Minshawy praised the level of the training program and the specialized content and important lectures provided by a group of experts from the National Anti-Corruption Academy, pointing to the participation of about 75 employees of the University's administrative staff, and appreciated the efforts of all those responsible for organizing and supporting.

The president of the University pointed out that the close cooperation between Assiut University and the competent regulatory authorities represents a strong pillar to spread the culture of governance, and confirmation of the University's keenness to adhere to the principles of transparency and efficiency in performance, in support of the vision of the Egyptian state and its national strategy to combat corruption, and building a modern state based on the foundations of integrity and institutional justice.

Dr. El-Minshawy also stressed the University's commitment to be a key party in the development process, through the development of human cadres, spreading the culture of awareness and institutional affiliation, expressing his appreciation for the pivotal role played by the Administrative Control Authority in preventing and combating corruption in all its forms.

The president of the University touched upon the achievements achieved in various fields, especially in the higher education and scientific research sector, stressing that the remarkable progress witnessed by the country reflects the interest of the political leadership in building people and modernizing the education system, through expanding the establishment of private universities, and the trend towards fourth-generation universities, in line with the requirements of the Times and serves the goals of sustainable development.

  The events concluded with the exchange of commemorative shields between Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, and Major General Sherif Ramzi, head of the administrative control office in Assiut, and certificates of appreciation were distributed to the participants from the administrative apparatus, presented by the National Anti-Corruption Academy.

The training program, which lasted for three days, included a series of important lectures, the first day of which dealt with the definition of the role of the Administrative Control Authority and the information infrastructure project of the Egyptian state, while the second day included topics on Egypt's Vision 2030, corruption and its impact on national security, and the third day dealt with the concepts of governance in the face of corruption, management ethics, and institutional work.

Assiut University participates in the activities of the eighth international conference of CIPC pipelines and the exhibition of equipment and technological achievements 2025 in China

Assiut University participated in the activities of the eighth international conference on CIPC pipelines, which was held in conjunction with the equipment and technological achievements exhibition 2025, organized by the Chinese Petroleum Association, during the period from April 8 to 10 in the Chinese capital Beijing.

Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, received a detailed report on the participation from Dr. Atef Al-Naqib, undersecretary of the Institute of materials and nanotechnology, and professor of mining and metallurgical engineering at the Faculty of Engineering, who represented the University in the sessions and events of the conference.

Dr. El-Minshawy praised the active participation of Dr. Atef Al-Naqib, praising the role played by the China Petroleum Association in the development of the sector, and strengthening cooperation between higher education institutions and industrial sectors at the local and international levels. He also expressed his aspiration for more fruitful partnerships that contribute to supporting sustainable development in this vital sector.

The president of the university also expressed his pride in the excellence of Assiut University professors and researchers, stressing the importance of international relations linking the University with many academic and scientific institutions around the world, and its role in promoting scientific and cultural exchange, and the exchange of diverse experiences in educational and scientific research systems.

According to the report, during the conference, Dr. Atef Al-Naqib presented a lecture entitled: "corrosion and protection in the pipe industry: an advanced perspective of challenges and solutions," in which he addressed the technical challenges facing pipelines, which are an effective and economical way to transport materials over long distances, pointing to the development witnessed by those lines over time. He also explained that corrosion is a fundamental challenge in the oil and gas industry, especially in buried pipelines that are affected by factors such as soil pH and moisture level.

  The University Shield was presented to the executive director of the China Petroleum Association, in addition to a letter of thanks and appreciation from the president of the University, during which Assiut University's position was emphasized as one of the leading academic edifices in education and scientific research, and as a major house of expertise for oil and natural gas companies in Upper Egypt, with its great interest in international cooperation, especially with specialized entities such as the China Petroleum Association.

For his part, Dr. Atef Al-Naqib expressed his thanks and appreciation for the full support he received from the university administration led by Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, stressing that this support reflects the University's belief in the importance of empowering researchers and motivating them to participate effectively in international scientific forums, as part of its efforts to enhance its competitive capabilities and expand its scientific presence at the local and global levels.

Assiut National University concludes a sports competition in Table Tennis

Assiut Al-ahliyya university announced the conclusion of the table tennis tournament organized by Assiut University on April 13 and 14, 2025, under the auspices of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University and in charge of conducting the work of Assiut Al-ahliyya University, and Dr. Nobi Mohammed Hassan, vice president of Assiut Al-ahliyya University for Academic Affairs, where the student Karim Hossam al-Din, from the third division of the Faculty of Medicine, achieved the first place and the gold medal; while the student Abdullah Mohammed Saad, from the first division of the Faculty of Pharmacy, won the second place and the silver medal; Jalal, from the first division of the Faculty of medicine, won the third place and the bronze medal.

Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy congratulated the winning students, stressing that Assiut National University pays great attention to supporting and sponsoring student activities in all fields, with a special focus on sports activities because of their crucial role in building a healthy and physical person. He explained that the championship was a clear proof of the University's keenness to promote this trend, in line with Egypt's Vision 2030 and the importance of sports among the pillars of sustainable development.

Dr. Noubi Mohamed Hassan also said that the tournament was organized under the supervision of the university students ' union, represented by Ahmed Abdel Aal, the president of the Union, Habiba Mohamed Hamdi, vice president of the Union, and in cooperation with Mr. Maysara Ahmed, the Student Welfare Department official. He pointed out that the registration door was open to interested university students during the period from Monday 7 to Thursday, April 10, 2025, and that period resulted in the participation of 45 students from various faculties of the University who competed in the Championship matches.

Assiut University continues to maintain a leading position in the activities of people with special needs according to the report of the Supreme Council of universities

  Assiut University, under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, the president of the University, continued to shine in the field of supporting and empowering people with special needs, as a statistical report issued by the student activities platform at the Supreme Council of universities revealed that the Center for students with disabilities at the university has retained the first place at the level of Egyptian universities in the total number of student activities carried out inside and outside the campus, since last October until now during the academic year 2024/2025, under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed Abdul-Mawla, vice-president of the University for education and Student Affairs, Dr. Omnia Mohamed Ibrahim, director of the center.

The number of activities offered by the center this year has reached about 122 diverse activities, including educational, training, sports and technical programs, reflecting the clear orientation of the University in enhancing the participation of its students with disabilities in various fields of university life.

  Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy expressed his great pride in the level of performance and excellence provided by the Center for students with disabilities, stressing that the successes achieved by the center's students represent a source of pride for the University, and embodies the amount of support and care that these students receive from the university administration. He also pointed out that this support is consistent with the presidential directives and the attention of the state, led by His Excellency President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, to the file of people of determination.

For his part, Dr. Ahmed Abdel Mawla pointed out that the university administration places the integration of students with disabilities in the university community as its top priority, and seeks to provide integrated services that help them adapt and succeed, in line with Egypt's Vision 2030 and the state plans to achieve sustainable development.

Dr. Umniah Mohamed Ibrahim explained that during the year, the center provided a wide range of qualitative activities, including awareness programs on the issue of disability, through seminars and initiatives in cooperation with entities such as: Mawada, AMIDEAST, and the National Council for disability, as well as training programs in English, photoshop, graphic, life skills, digital transformation for the blind, and the digital footprint program.

The center also organized sports, touring, choral, theatrical and plastic arts activities. The center's students have won 20 medals in the Egyptian university Paralympics, 3 medals in Table Tennis during the 52nd martyr Rifai tournament, and won the first level in all fields of the 43rd Scout session at the University.

In the artistic activity, the choir team won the first place in religious chanting, individual and group singing at the Golden talent competition organized by the Ministry of culture, while it won the second place in solo singing, and the theater team won the third place at the university level at the ibdaa 13 Festival.

These achievements confirm the continuation of Assiut University in providing a successful model for empowering people with disabilities, and providing a supportive and stimulating environment for them to creativity and excellence in all activities.

Assiut University witnessed, on Wednesday, April 16, the launch of the seminar "Scientific Research as a Gateway to Encourage Sustainable Innovation", which was organized by the College of Education under the auspices of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of the University, and under the supervision of Dr. Jamal Badr, vice president for graduate studies and research, and Dr. Hassan Mohammed Hawail, dean of the College of Education.

The seminar was attended by Dr. Jamal Hassan Al-Sayed, vice dean for graduate studies and research, Dr. Amani Al-Sharif, vice dean for community service and Environmental Development, Dr. Hwaida Mahmoud, Director of the training unit, and Dr. Iman Fathi Jalal, the seminar lecture.

 Dr. Ahmed Al-manshawi stressed that Assiut University places scientific research and innovation at the top of its priorities, based on its belief in its pivotal role in achieving sustainable development and enhancing the academic and applied capabilities of society. He added that the University seeks to create a stimulating scientific environment that embraces creative ideas, and supports researchers and students to transform their research into practical solutions that contribute to meeting societal challenges.

The president of the university also stressed that linking scientific research with development issues is the cornerstone for building a more sustainable future, praising the efforts of the Faculty of Education in organizing the symposium, which represents an important intellectual platform for exchanging visions and promoting a culture of innovation within the university community.

 Dr. Jamal Badr reviewed some of the practical steps taken by Assiut University to transform into a fourth-generation University, pointing to the development of curricula and thinking skills, the organization of research activities that qualify graduates for the labor market, in addition to transforming academic research into practical projects that benefit the community.

Dr. Hassan Hawil stressed the importance of the role played by the University in supporting scientific research and encouraging young researchers to innovate within the vision of sustainable development. He explained that the Faculty of Education directs the efforts of researchers towards solving the problems of neighboring schools, by providing unconventional solutions focused on achieving real development goals.

For her part, Dr. Amani Al-Sharif pointed out that the university is implementing a clear plan in line with the strategies of fourth-generation universities, through updating regulations and curricula, and working to progress in international rankings.

In her lecture, Dr. Iman Fathi Jalal addressed several key topics, most notably the role of scientific research in achieving sustainable development, the mechanisms for developing research projects for students and young researchers to serve the community, in addition to the importance of investing in knowledge as a tool to achieve positive change.
