Dr. Ahmed Al-Menshawy Participates in the Board Meeting of the Upper Egypt Development Authority to Review Development Project Achievements

 

Dr. Ahmed Al-Menshawy, President of Assiut University, participated in the 68th meeting of the Board of Directors (second term) of the Upper Egypt Development Authority, held on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, under the chairmanship of Major General Engineer Sherif Saleh, Chairman of the Authority.

During the meeting, the board reviewed and discussed the development projects implemented and supervised by the Authority across Upper Egypt governorates over the past three years, highlighting the achievements made within the framework of the state’s sustainable development plan.

The meeting emphasized the importance of engaging local communities and residents of Upper Egypt in the planning and implementation stages of development projects to ensure maximum benefit and achieve spatial and social justice.

Dr. Al-Menshawy expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the Upper Egypt Development Authority in supporting economic and social development in the region. He noted that the accomplishments achieved reflect the state’s vision and commitment to improving the quality of life for citizens in Upper Egypt.

He further stated that the Authority has succeeded in creating a supportive investment environment and opening new employment opportunities, stressing the importance of integrated cooperation among state institutions, universities, and civil society organizations.

Dr. Al-Menshawy also affirmed Assiut University’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with the Authority, offering its academic, research, and technical expertise as part of its national role in supporting sustainable development in Upper Egypt.

Assiut University Announces Scholarship for Faculty Members at “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University in Romania

The Office of International Relations and Arab Universities Affairs at Assiut University has announced the opening of applications for the Erasmus+ KA171 Program scholarship, dedicated to academic staff mobility between universities, in collaboration with Alexandru Ioan Cuza University in Romania.

The office explained that the scholarship includes the navigate of a faculty member from Assiut University to teach at the Romanian university for 5 consecutive working days, during the period from February 16 to May 31, 2026.

According to the announcement, applications are open to faculty members from the Faculties of Law, Physical Education, Social Work, and Science , provided that applicants submit the required documents, which include:

• Curriculum Vitae (CV)

• Copy of passport

• Official status statement approved by the university

• Preliminary approval letter from the head of department and the faculty

• Consent form for personal data processing

• Proof of English language proficiency at a level not lower than B2

The office further clarified that priority will be given to applicants who have not previously received similar Erasmus scholarships. The deadline for submitting applications is September 30, 2025, through the Office of International Relations at Assiut University.
