The Faculty of Engineering at Assiut University witnessed the organization of a distinctive scientific activity within the activities of the "University of the child" program, under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, who stressed the University's keenness to consolidate its societal mission, through instilling the values of research and discovery in children, and developing their scientific and creative skills, reflecting the University's vision towards investing in minds and establishing generations capable of leading the future.

The activity comes within the framework of the combined Phase (VI and VIII) of the E1-level program, which is implemented by the University in cooperation with the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, headed by Dr. Gina Elfeki, the general supervisor of the program and head of the Central Department of Strategic Programs at the Academy.

The University's activities are supervised by Dr. Jamal Badr, vice president for graduate studies and research, Dr. Yara Ibrahim, program coordinator and dean of the faculty of Early Childhood Education, Dr. Manal Anwar, vice dean for graduate studies, and Dr. Ayat Farouk Hussein, deputy coordinator of the children's University.

The faculty of Engineering hosted an important aspect of the scientific program, in a field visit for children to the college, under the supervision of Dr. Khaled Salah, dean of the college, and with the participation of: Dr. Mohammed Safwat, vice dean for education and Student Affairs, Dr. Gamal Abdel Nasser, coordinator of the visit, Dr. Mahmoud Al-Sharif, head of mechanical design and Production Engineering Department, Dr. Omar Salah Al-Din, head of Mechatronics Engineering Department, Dr. Osman Omran, head of mechanical forces engineering department

  The visit witnessed a great interaction of children who underwent a rich scientific exploratory experiment, where they got acquainted with the principles and basics of several engineering disciplines, through an educational tour that included the use of three-dimensional printing technology (3D Printer), the implementation of computer designs using a laser machine (CO2 Laser), a simplified understanding of the concepts of harmonics, robotics, mechanics, Newton's laws and Hooke's law, electronics, and ended with making a miniature car with their own hands in an innovative way.

The children were trained by elite members of the Faculty of Engineering, who presented scientific models and attractive practical applications, namely: engineer Hani Mustafa, engineer Ahmed Nasser Ahmed, engineer hind Abdel Hafez, engineer Abrar Mahrous Mohammed, Mr. Mahmoud Amir Abdul Hamid, Mr. Sayed Khader Khalaf, Mr. Mahmoud Faraj, Mr. Mahmoud Shawkat, Mr. Ahmed Hisham, Mr. Badri Hussein, and Mr. Mustafa Ahmed.

  The children expressed their overwhelming happiness to participate in this activity, amid an atmosphere of enthusiasm and positive interaction, which helped to consolidate the love of Science in their souls and sparked their passion for innovation and creative thinking.

Assiut University celebrates the graduation of the 42nd batch of students and the 26th batch of female students at the Faculty of Sports Sciences

The Faculty of sports sciences at Assiut University celebrated the graduation of the forty-second batch of its students (boys), and the twenty-sixth batch of female students, under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of the University, and in the presence of Dr. Ahmed Abdulmoula, vice president of the University for education and student affairs.

The ceremony was held at the Nile Hall at the university, under the supervision and organization of Dr. Emad Samir, dean of the College, Dr. Yasser Hassan, vice dean for education and Student Affairs, Dr. Ahmed Al-Khudari, vice dean for graduate studies and research, and Dr. Mustafa Abdul Wahab, vice dean for community service and environmental development،
Besides a number of heads of departments, teaching staff, and a gathering of parents who were keen to share with their sons the joy of graduation.

Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, congratulated the graduates of the College on this occasion, expressing his pride in what this ceremony represents the culmination of years of diligence, diligence and hard work, praising the leading role played by the College in preparing distinguished sports cadres who possess scientific and physical skills, and contribute to supporting the sports sector and community service.

The president of the University stressed that the university continues to support academic programs and student activities to enhance the abilities of students and raise the level of graduates in line with the requirements of development and the labor market.

For his side, Dr. Ahmed Abdulmoula, vice president of the University, congratulated the graduates and their families, stressing the pride of the university administration in the college and its outstanding outputs, especially in light of the increasing need for its specialties that are related to the health of society and its daily life, such as sports rehabilitation, physical fitness, training and teaching physical education in schools and clubs. He also praised the college's effective role in participating in the University's various activities in a disciplined and organized spirit.

Dr. Emad Samir, dean of the college, appreciated the continuous support of the College from the university administration, explaining that the College seeks to prepare a graduate with knowledge, skills, and positive behavior, capable of developing himself and serving his community, by providing modern educational and training programs that qualify him to join the labor market efficiently.

Dr. Yasser Hassan, vice dean for education and Student Affairs, stressed that the college puts the student at the heart of the educational process and pays special attention to preparing and qualifying him to face the challenges of the present and the future, pointing to the keenness of the college to develop performance in line with the needs of the labor market.

The ceremony witnessed the honoring of graduates, in addition to dedicating the college shield to a number of university and college leaders, in recognition of their outstanding support and efforts in serving the college and upgrading the level of its students.

"Assiut Engineering" offers distinguished academic programs with credit hours for the academic year 2025-2026 to support sustainable development and meet the requirements of the labor market

Under the patronage of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, and within the framework of the University's strategy to develop the educational process, the faculty of Engineering announced the launch of a set of distinguished academic programs with credit hours for the academic year 2025-2026, under the supervision of Dr. Khaled Salah, dean of the faculty of engineering.

Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy pointed out that these programs reflect the University's commitment to providing an advanced engineering education model that responds to the requirements of the labor market and supports the state's orientations towards the development of higher education, stressing that the university is keen to provide an educational environment stimulating innovation and creativity and keeping pace with global changes.

For his part, Dr. Khaled Salah, dean of the faculty of Engineering, explained that the faculty is constantly working to update the content of these programs and improve its infrastructure to ensure the continuity of academic excellence and link the Applied side with practical reality. He pointed to the increasing demand of students for these quality programs because of the promising opportunities in the labor market.

The offered study programs include:

? Interior Architecture Engineering program
The program is aimed at preparing engineers specializing in the design of interior spaces of buildings, focusing on achieving a balance between functionality, aesthetics, and technology. This includes the study of lighting, colors, furniture, and space coordination, which is in line with modern architectural design standards and meets the needs of different users.

? Construction Engineering and Project Management Program
This program focuses on developing students ' skills in the areas of planning, implementation, and management of engineering projects, and qualifies them to manage time, cost, and resources efficiently, along with the ability to assess risks and quality control, making them able to lead construction projects according to the highest professional standards.

? Mechatronics and Robotics engineering program
This program represents an integrated mix of Mechanical, Electrical, and computer engineering, and aims to graduate engineers capable of designing and developing intelligent systems and industrial robots, which enter into Precision Industries and advanced technological applications, with a focus on innovation, programming, and automated control.

? Biomedical Engineering program
This program is concerned with the qualification of Engineers in the field of medical devices and equipment, through the study of their design, development, and maintenance, as well as providing innovative technological solutions that contribute to improving the quality of health care. The program also integrates engineering knowledge with medical needs, to meet the requirements of the developing health sector.

Assiut University announced that three of its scientists have won three of the Academy of scientific research and Technology Awards for the year 2024, which is a new scientific achievement added to the University's track record of excellence and leadership in various research fields.

In this context, Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, congratulated the faculty members who won the state incentive awards and the awards of bodies/individuals, which were announced by the Council of the Academy of scientific research and technology during its last meeting chaired by Professor Dr. Mohammed Ayman Ashour, Minister of higher education and scientific research and chairman of the Academy Council, and in the presence of council members.

Dr. El-Minshawy explained that the university has won three prestigious awards, including two state incentive awards in the field of Medical Sciences, which were won by Dr. Sarah Ahmed Abu Al-Majd Ahmed, assistant professor at the Department of Pharmacology at the Faculty of Pharmacy, and Dr. Gilan karamallah Ramadan Ahmed, a teacher at the Department of psychological and neurological diseases at the Faculty of Medicine.

  The university has also won one of the awards of bodies/ individuals in the field of basic sciences, namely the A.Dr. Sabri Abdul Muttalib in basic sciences (in the field of photochemistry and solar), valued at fifty thousand pounds, and was awarded by: Dr. Haitham Mohammed Ahmed Mohammed al-Sayed Al-Bari, assistant professor at the Department of Chemistry at the Faculty of Science, in half with another researcher.

  The president of the University expressed his great pride and pride in this achievement, which reflects the continuous efforts of Assiut University scientists and researchers, pointing out that this scientific Coronation represents a medal of appreciation for the outstanding efforts exerted by researchers contributing to the development of the research system at the national level.

Dr. El -Minshawy stressed that Assiut University puts scientific research at the forefront of its priorities, and constantly seeks to provide a stimulating and supportive academic environment, to ensure the continuation of achieving pioneering research achievements that serve the community and enhance the scientific status of the university locally and internationally.

Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, announced the opening of the electronic application for university cities for the academic year 2025/2026, pointing out that this step comes within the framework of the University's commitment to facilitate student services and promote digital transformation, in order to ensure the provision of an advanced university environment that supports the needs of students and contributes to achieving academic and living stability for them.

Dr. El-Minshawy explained that university cities are an essential part of the student welfare system, as the university continues its efforts in developing them at all levels, both in terms of infrastructure and the quality of services provided, reflecting the University's vision to provide an integrated university experience  taking into consideration the  psychological and social support for students.

For his side, Dr. Ahmed Abdulmoula, vice president of the University for education and Student Affairs, explained that the application will be available during the period from July 24 to September 1, 2025, through the electronic link:

In the same context, Dr. Ali Hussein, director of the Information Systems Development Center, stated that the electronic application allows students to enter their data and upload the required documents easily and safely, and this comes within the University's plan to apply smart management systems and update the student services system.

Dr. Ali Hussein also pointed out the need to read the rules and instructions carefully before starting registration, and adhere to the correct data to ensure the successful completion of the application process.

Mr. Mahmoud Antar, director general of the university cities, stressed that admission will be in accordance with the approved rules, taking into account the absorption rates and fair distribution, stressing the importance of matching the address proven by the national ID card with the actual place of residence, and the length of stay should not be less than a year, in addition to meeting the general conditions for admission.

- Dr. El-Minshawy: an honorable participation that reflects the excellence of Assiut University students and their ability to compete internationally

The "Assiut Motorsport" team at the Faculty of engineering – Assiut University has obtained a new international achievement and obtained advanced positions within the activities of the Formula Student UK 2025 competition, which was held from July 16 to 20 at the Silverstone circuit in the United Kingdom, with the participation of more than 100 student teams from different countries of the world.

The participation of the team came under the kind patronage of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, and Dr. Ahmed Abdulmoula, vice president for education and student affairs, under the supervision of Dr. Khaled Salah, dean of the College of engineering, and scientific supervision of Dr. Gamal Abdel Nasser, coordinator of the mechatronics and robotics engineering program, engineer Hani Ferjani, assistant teacher at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Engineer Ahmed Hisham and engineer Ziad Yasser, teaching assistants in the same department.

  Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy praised the international achievement  by the Assiut Motorsport team at the Faculty of engineering, stressing that the honorable participation reflects the efficiency of the University's students and their ability to stand out and compete globally, pointing to the University's keenness to support innovation and student scientific activities, and provide a stimulating environment for excellence and creativity.

The team managed to achieve the tenth place in the Cost Event, the fourteenth place in the Design Event in the Concept Class category, in which 42 student teams participated, and also achieved an outstanding position in the overall ranking of the competition, which is one of the most prestigious and largest engineering competitions specialized in the design of racing cars in the world.

In this context, Dr. Khaled Salah Saeed, dean of the Faculty of engineering, extended his sincere congratulations to the team for its honorable performance and outstanding representation of the college and the University in this international forum, praising the efforts of the student Abdullah Khaled Abdul Karim, the team leader, and all the members involved in the preparation of the project.

Dr. Khaled Salah also expressed his deep thanks and appreciation to the University's leadership represented by Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy and Dr. Ahmed Abdul-Mawla, for their continuous support for student scientific activities, as well as appreciating the initiative of the Assiut sub-Union of Engineers to sponsor the team and support it during its preparations for international participation.

The "Assiut Motorsport" team is one of the active scientific teams in the college, and works under the umbrella of the scientific committee of the college students ' union, under the administrative supervision of the Youth Welfare Department, and direct scientific supervision of faculty members and the auxiliary body of the Department of Mechanical Engineering.

The team was represented before the international jury by Shadi Emil and Mohamed Wael, where they succeeded in presenting a comprehensive technical presentation of the project and discussing it professionally on behalf of the rest of the team members, which was well received by the jury committees and confirmed the competence of Assiut University students and their ability to compete in major international competitions.

This achievement is the culmination of the University's vision to support creativity and innovation and encourage students to participate in international forums to hone their scientific and practical skills, confirming Assiut University's position as a leading scientific beacon in the heart of Upper Egypt.

  Under the patronage of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, the Faculty of pharmacy witnessed a distinctive scientific activity for the children of the "University of the child" program, within the framework of the University's keenness to support children and develop their scientific and creative skills, and simplify Science in an innovative way that contributes to instilling the concepts of research and discovery from a young age.

 This activity comes within the activities of the combined phase (sixth and eighth) of the E1 level program, which is implemented by the University in cooperation with the Academy of scientific research and Technology, headed by Dr. Gina Elfeki, general supervisor of the program and head of the Central Department of Strategic Programs at the Academy.

These events are supervised by Dr. Jamal Badr, vice president for graduate studies and research, Dr. Yara Ibrahim, coordinator of the children's university program and dean of the Faculty of Early Childhood Education, Dr. Manal Anwar, vice dean for graduate studies, and Dr. Ayat Farouk Hussein, deputy coordinator of the children's University.

  Dr. El-Minshawy stressed that Assiut University is not limited to graduating distinguished academic cadres, but its mission extends to build a person since childhood, through quality programs such as"University of the child", which embodies the commitment to developing early scientific awareness and stimulating creativity, in line with the state's trends towards investing in minds and establishing generations capable of leading the future.

 This distinguished scientific activity comes within the framework of the University's keenness to simplify Science for children, develop their abilities in research and discovery, and activate the protocol of cooperation with the Academy of scientific research to provide innovative scientific content suitable for age groups from 9 to 14 years. The program has been implemented within a number of Faculties of the university, including the faculties of science, engineering, computers and information, Fine Arts, early childhood education, and the Faculty of Pharmacy.

The children's visit to the Faculty of Pharmacy lasted for two days, under the supervision of Dr. Jehan Nabil, dean of the faculty, and with the participation of Dr. Nermeen al-Iraqi, head of the Department of Pharmacy, Dr. Mahmoud al-Badri Abdul-Muttalib, professor at the department, and Dr. Ahmed Abdul-Zaher Saadi Mohammed, assistant teacher and coordinator of the visit.

The children had a unique scientific experiment inside the college laboratories, during which they interacted with a number of practical experiments that attracted their interest and aroused their passion for science. On the first day, the children got acquainted with the steps of preparing the "Cold Cream" (Moisturizing Cream), prepared it themselves, and also got acquainted with the concept of PH (PH) through experiments distinguishing between alkaline and acidic solutions.

On the second day, the children continued their activities by discovering the concept of"emulsion", and succeeded in making lip balms and perfumes inside the laboratories, amid an enthusiastic and interactive atmosphere that helped them develop their practical skills and instilled in them the spirit of innovation and creativity.

Dr. Lamia Mahmoud, Dr. Hanan Ezzat, Dr. Aya Hamdi, Dr. Reem Yassin, and Dr. Mohammed Sayed participated in the training of the children from the Faculty of Pharmacy, who provided a simplified training content that is in line with the abilities of children and consolidates scientific concepts in an interesting and safe way.

As part of Assiut University’s ongoing commitment to enhancing its educational system and offering distinguished academic programs that align with the latest scientific and technological advancements , and to meet the needs of the local and international labor market , the university is introducing a selection of specialized programs for the academic year 2025/2026, under the auspices of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, President of the University.

the Faculty of Science is launching the “Materials Science and Nanotechnology” program, which is considered one of the modern interdisciplinary programs that combine theoretical and applied aspects in the fields of materials science and nanotechnology, serving industrial and medical applications and the fields of energy, water and food.

The program is held under the supervision  of  Dr. Abdel-Hamid Abu Sehlay, Dean of the Faculty, and coordinated by Dr. Abdel-Aziz Ahmed Said.

The program aims to prepare graduates with scientific competence and advanced skills in the use and application of nanotechnologies and materials science, to qualify them to work in universities and research centers, as well as in the pharmaceutical, electronics, medical devices, semiconductor, engineering companies, hospitals, and food and beverage factories.

The program accepts students who have completed their Egyptian General Secondary Education in either the Science or Mathematics tracks, in accordance with the national minimum admission requirements for faculties of science , and welcomes international students from various countries.

The faculty evaluation committee at Assiut University continues its field work within the framework of the "best environmentally friendly faculty" competition, which is organized by the University in order to monitor the extent of colleges ' commitment to sustainable environmental standards. The competition is held under the patronage of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, and under the supervision of Dr. Mahmoud Abdel Alim, vice president for community service and environmental development, and coordinated by Dr. Mohammed Mustafa Hamad, General Coordinator of the competition, Dr. Amr said, executive coordinator, and Dr. Rehab Al-Dakhli, media coordinator of the competition.

The fourth round of the committee's work witnessed a visit to three colleges, where Dr. Mahmoud Abdel Alim conducted a field tour of the College of computers and information, during which he followed up the college's implementation of the competition standards, while the committee continued its visits to the College of Medicine and the College of Dentistry.

  For his side, Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, explained that the competition comes within the framework of the University's plan to promote sustainability concepts, spread environmental awareness among its members, and support the colleges ' efforts to improve their educational environment, stressing that the university is keen to establish a culture of sustainable practices that contribute to protecting resources, reducing waste and supporting interaction with the local community, reflecting the role of the university as an environmentally and developmentally responsible institution.

 The visiting committee of the Faculty of computers and information included Dr. Mohammed Mustafa Hamad, Dr. Mohammed Mahmoud al-Wakil, Dr. Sana Mohammed Zahran, Dr. Randa Youssef, Dr. Mahmoud Al-Qadi and Mr. Osama al-Sayed.

  The committee was received by Dr. Tayseer Abdul Hamid, dean of the College, Dr. Dalia Nashat, vice dean for community service and environmental development, and the secretary of the college, along with a team of faculty members and their assistants. Professor Nada Kamal documented the visit.

  The delegation of the visiting committee of the Faculty of medicine consists of Dr. Amr said, Dr. Al-Hajjaj Ahmed Hassan, Dr. Rahab Ahmed Zaki, Dr. Walid Eid, and professor Ayman Ahmed Shehata.

  The committee was received by Dr. Alaa Attiyah, dean of the College, Dr. Amani Omar, vice dean for graduate studies and research, Dr. Ahmed Abdul Rahman, vice dean for education and Student Affairs, Dr. Huda Makhlouf, vice dean for community service and environmental development, and Mr. Mahmoud Hussein, secretary of the college, along with a team of faculty members and their assistants and employees.

The delegation of the visiting committee of the Faculty of Dentistry included Dr. Mohammed Abdel Basset, Dr. Awad Ibrahim, Dr. Marianne Milad, Dr. Amr Abu fedan and Dr. Amal Ali.

They were received by Dr. Safa Tohami, dean of the College, Dr. Mohammed Nahed, vice dean for community service and Environmental Development, Dr. Mohammed Badawi, vice dean for education and student affairs, the secretary of the college and the team of faculty members and their assistants and employees.

During the visits, the three faculties presented presentations covering the most important environmental activities and practices implemented in the areas of infrastructure, risk management, energy conservation, strengthening the relationship with the community, as well as reviewing efforts exerted in the management of Natural Resources and water.

The committee also conducted field tours inside the facilities of various colleges, including classrooms, administrative offices, computer labs, cafeterias, green spaces, parking lots and bicycles, in order to assess the extent of compliance with sustainable environmental standards.
