As part of Assiut University's keenness to provide the best services to students during the University coordination season, Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of the University, conducted a field tour on Tuesday, July 29, to follow up the progress of work at the electronic Coordination Office at the Faculty of Arts inside the old campus, coinciding with the launch of the first stage of coordinating admission to universities and government institutes for the academic year 2025/2026, extended until Saturday, August 2.

  The president of the University inspected the laboratories dedicated to coordination, and assured of their readiness to receive students and provide them with the necessary technical support while registering their wishes through the coordination website, and also followed the mechanisms of workflow and organizational procedures followed to facilitate the provision of service to students and parents, in the presence of Dr. Hamid Mashhour, vice dean of the Faculty of Arts for community service and environmental development.

Dr. El-Minshawy pointed that the university has provided all the human and technical capabilities to ensure the provision of a high-efficiency electronic coordination service, within a safe and comfortable environment, to ensure a smooth experience for students and parents, praising the efforts of the technical office teams and their keenness to provide full support to students, with the speed of responding to their inquiries and solving any technical problems that may arise.

The president of the university was also keen to talk with a number of students and parents inside the Coordination Office, where he listened to their opinions and comments on the level of services provided, stressing that Assiut University puts the student's interest as its top priority, and is committed to facilitating organizational procedures for coordination in accordance with the controls approved by the Ministry of Higher Education, wishing success to all students at the beginning of their university journey.

Dr. El-Minshawy explained that two offices have been allocated for electronic coordination at the University; the first is at the Faculty of Arts and includes two laboratories with a capacity of 49 computers and supervised by 10 Specialists, while the second office is located at the Computer Center in Sector (1) of the University City for students, and includes 45 devices and supervised by 9 specialists, the laboratories work daily from eight in the morning until three in the afternoon, with technical support teams to provide immediate assistance.

It is worth mentioning that the Ministry of higher education and scientific research had announced the minimum limits for the first stage of coordination, where the minimum limit for high school students in the new system was as follows: 293 degrees and more (91.56%) for the Scientific Division (Sciences), 283 degrees and more (88.44%) for the engineering division, and 233 degrees and more (72.81%) for the literary division.
As for the old system, the minimum score was 350 degrees (85.37%) for the Scientific Division, 335 degrees (81.71%) for engineering, and 270 degrees (65.85%) for Literature.

Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, President of Assiut University, inaugurated today, Tuesday, July 29, a number of development, replacement and renovation projects at the main university hospital, with a total cost of EGP 12 million. The projects were carried out under the supervision of Dr. Alaa Attia, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the University Hospitals Board, and Dr. Khaled Abdelaziz, Director of the Main University Hospital.

The inauguration included the renovation and development of the Department of Chest Diseases (women) and the Intermediate Care Unit, in addition to following up on the development works already completed in the Specialized Private Treatment Department, as part of the university's plan to upgrade the medical infrastructure and improve the quality of health services provided to patients, in order to enhance the hospital's position as a leading educational and therapeutic institution in Upper Egypt.

Dr. El-Minshawy emphasized that these inaugurations are part of a comprehensive development plan for the main university hospital, being implemented in phases, and aimed at upgrading various departments and delivering advanced medical services that meet the latest international standards.

Regarding the Department of Chest Diseases (women)University President explained that the total cost of the comprehensive renovation reached EGP 5.5 million , came under the supervision of Dr. Safaa Mokhtar Wafi, Head of the Department. The development works included the complete refurbishment of 33 beds, upgrades to patient rooms, bathrooms, electrical and plumbing systems, and equipping each bed with oxygen and suction outlets to meet the needs of patients with respiratory failure. The Intermediate Care Unit was also fitted with advanced monitoring devices for each bed to accurately track vital signs.

Additionally, the renovation included upgrading the ultrasound and interventional radiology unit for chest diseases, which now includes two modern ultrasound machines. The unit was also equipped with air conditioning, and the department’s scientific seminar room was refurbished to support educational and training activities.

In a related context, Dr. El-Minshawy inspected the initial development works carried out at the Specialized Private Treatment Department, located on the fourth floor of the main university hospital, with a cost of EGP 6.5 million, in preparation for its upcoming inauguration. This is part of the university’s ongoing efforts to provide distinguished and advanced medical services to a broad range of patients and to alleviate pressure on other hospital departments.

The department comprises 13 rooms and suites. The renovation included a complete overhaul of the infrastructure, refurbishment of walls and flooring, renewal of electrical systems and sanitary facilities, all carried out in full compliance with international codes and infection control standards for medical facility design and construction. The project was supervised by Dr. Samir Kamal, Deputy Director of the Hospital for Paid Services, and Dr. Mohamed Helmy El-Hefnawy, Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts, who served as the project’s architectural designer and consultant.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by several university and hospital officials, including: Dr. Hoda Makhlouf, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for Community Service and Environmental Development; Dr. Mohamed Safwat, Deputy Director of the Main University Hospital for Medical and Therapeutic Affairs; Dr. Shehata El-Dabaa, Engineering Consultant to the University President; along with a number of faculty members, teaching assistants, hospital staff, and engineers from the Engineering Affairs Department at Assiut University Hospitals.

Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University and Commissioner for the conduct of the work of Assiut Al-Ahlia University, chaired on Tuesday morning, July 29, 2025, the twelfth session of the Academic Council of Assiut Al-Ahlia University, which was held at the headquarters of Assiut State University, in the presence of Dr. Nobi Mohammed Hassan, vice president of Assiut Al-Ahlia University for Academic Affairs, Dr. Ahmed Abdul-Mawla, vice president of Assiut University for education and student affairs, in addition to the deans of the colleges concerned with studying at Al-Ahlia University, Mr. Mustafa Hassan, secretary general of the university, members of the Academic Council.

At the beginning of the session, Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy expressed his welcome to the members of the Council, praising the holding of the session at the mother University, and congratulating the family of Assiut Al-Ahlia University and all its affiliates on the occasion of the end of the academic year 2024/2025, which represents the third year in the University's career. He also extended his thanks and appreciation to the members of the Academic Council, the teaching staff, and the administrative and service staff for their sincere efforts that contributed to the stability of the educational process and achieving excellent levels of academic performance.

Dr. El-Minshawy praised the great support that private universities receive from the political leadership led by His Excellency President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, pointing to his participation in the middle of this month as part of the delegation of the Ministry of higher education and scientific research headed by Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of higher education, in a previous meeting held by the prime minister to follow up the system of private universities. During the meeting, the prime minister stressed the pivotal role of these universities in supporting the higher education and scientific research system, providing flexible educational opportunities that contribute to preparing qualified cadres for the requirements of the local and international labor market, as well as promoting innovation and entrepreneurship, and improving the quality of education in priority sectors of the Egyptian state.

During the session, Dr. El-Minshawy announced the completion of preparations for the opening of the application door at the faculties of Assiut University, which is scheduled to be officially announced in the next few days through the official page of the University at the link:

He explained that the application will be electronic via a dedicated link, provided that the coordination and differentiation procedures will be carried out according to the priority of the highest total of students applying.

Dr. El-Minshawy stated that the council discussed several academic, administrative, and financial topics related to the various colleges, in the framework of supporting the regularity of study and completing the development projects witnessed by the University.

For his side, Dr. Noubi Mohammed Hassan presented a detailed presentation on the ongoing work to complete the equipment of various colleges in preparation for the next academic year, which is scheduled to witness the operation of the central air conditioning system in several college buildings, in addition to the completion of technical and administrative equipment that ensures the provision of an integrated educational service within the premises of the National University. He also stressed the continued coordination with Assiut State University regarding practical studies, which contributes to facilitating the educational process and supporting the quality of academic outputs.

Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, received today, Monday, July 28, students of the Faculty of specific education at the University, in celebration of their excellence and obtaining several distinguished positions during their participation in the activities of the "ibdaa VI" forum for colleges of specific education at Egyptian universities, which was organized by Benha University under the auspices of Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of higher education, and Dr. Nasser Al-gizawi, president of Benha University, from July 19 to 21, 2025.

The meeting came within the framework of the university administration's keenness to support and encourage outstanding student teams, and in appreciation of the students ' honorable performance reflecting the high academic and skill level provided by the College in various artistic and creative fields.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Ahmed Abdulmoula, vice president of the University for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Yasmin Al-kahki, dean of the Faculty of Specific Education, as well as some faculty members involved in supporting students during the competition.

During the meeting, Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy expressed his great pride in the achievements of the college's students in various fields of the competition, stressing that what has been achieved is a source of pride for Assiut University, and embodies the excellence of its students and their ability to compete and excel in university forums at the level of the Republic. The president of the university also stressed that supporting and caring for talented students is one of the main axes of the University's strategy, by providing a stimulating environment that contributes to the release of their creative energies.

Dr. El-Minshawy praised the efforts of the Faculty of Specific Education Administration and faculty members, the prominent role they play in preparing and qualifying students, and their continuous support for young talents within the faculty, which resulted in an honorable representation of the University in this large university forum.

On his side, Dr. Ahmed Abdulmoula sincerely congratulated the faculty family on this outstanding achievement, pointing out that the high level and commitment provided by the students in the competition reflect the University's great interest in supporting student activities and adopting promising talents in various fields.

Dr. Yasmin Al-kahki also stressed that the students of the College showed remarkable excellence in several artistic and creative axes during the forum, which reflects the quality of academic and applied qualifications that the college is keen to provide, in addition to the efforts exerted by faculty members to support students and develop their skills.

The meeting was attended by the preparation and follow-up team who played an active role in organizing the participation of college students in the forum and providing them with the necessary support, namely: Dr. Saeed Mustafa, coordinator of student activities, Dr. Muntaser Al-qalli, head of the Department of Music Education, Dr. Saad Hassan supervisor of the Department of Education Technology, Dr. Salma Magdi teacher at the Department of Music Education, Dr. Nahed Mustafa teacher at the Department of Music Education, Dr. Fatima Farghali teacher at the Department of home economics, Mr. Ahmed Mukhtar Abeer Mohammed is the director of the public relations department at the college, and Mr. Mustafa Thabet is a sports specialist in the student welfare department.

The results of the students of the Faculty of specific education were honorable, as they won several advanced positions, including: student Habiba Ahmed won the first place in the field of crochet, student Maryam Ahmed won the first place in embroidery, student rovida Mohammed won the first place in fashion design, and student Rawda Rashad won the first place in knitwear. In the field of plastic arts, student Mohammed Mahmoud won the first place in photography, student Ziad Qutb won the first place in sculpture, student Salwa Sayed won the first place in design, student Rachel ikrami won the second place in printing, student Mahmoud Antar won the second place in ceramics, and student Mahmoud Abdel Hafez won the third place in painting.

In the field of music education, nine male and female students won the first place in group singing, twelve male and female students won the second place in group playing, and the student Mustafa Mohammed Khalaf won the second place in solo singing and the second place in solo playing. In the field of Educational Technology, student Mohammed Ahmed Mohammed won first place in photography, student Mahmoud Omar won second place in software, and student Mohammed Ahmed Mohammed also won second place in the documentary film.

Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, President of Assiut University, has issued a series of decisions regarding the appointment and renewal of heads of academic departments across various faculties. These decisions come within the framework of the university’s strategic plan to strengthen its academic and administrative structure and to support its continuous development across educational and research fields.

At the Faculty of Medicine, Dr. El-Minshawy appointed Dr. Mohamed Mahmoud Fahmy Fathallah, Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology, as Head of the Department Council for a three-year term. He also appointed Dr. Hassan Ibrahim  Magli Mohamed, Professor of Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology and Medical Imaging, as Head of the Department Council until reaching the legal age of retirement.

The decisions also included renewing the assignment of Dr. Manal Ahmed Mohamed Mandour, a full-time professor at the Department of Medical Biochemistry at the Faculty of Medicine, to supervise the Department of Medical Biochemistry at the Faculty of Pharmacy for one year, and renewing the appointment of Dr. Ahmed Fathi Mohamed Ahmed, a professor at the Department of Surgery, Anesthesia and Radiology at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, as head of the department's council.

At the Faculty of Dentistry, Dr. Raafat Abdel Rahman Tamam, Professor of Fixed Prosthodontics, was appointed Head of the Department Council. The decisions also included the appointment of Dr. Nagwan Abbas Mohamed Ali, Professor of Psychological Sciences at the Faculty of Early Childhood Education, as Head of the Department Council.

At the Institute of Materials Science and Nanotechnology, Dr. Marwa Abdel Aziz Ahmed Mohamed Attallah, Professor of Medical Physiology at the Faculty of Medicine, has been assigned to act as head of the Institute's Department of Biomaterials Science for a period of one year.

In this context, Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy emphasized the pivotal role of academic departments in enhancing the quality of education and scientific research within the university. He stressed the importance of keeping pace with academic developments and encouraging specialized scientific research that addresses the needs of the labor market and contributes to the preparation of qualified professionals capable of supporting sustainable development goals.

Assiut University witnessed the launch of the activities of the scientific meeting " GEN Z ANALYSTS "under the slogan" a new generation of financial analysts", which was organized by the scientific committee of the CFA Program at the Faculty of Commerce, under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of the university, within the framework of the activities of evaluating students participating in the second season of the global CFA Research Challenge competition for 2025/2026, in which Assiut University represents Egypt at the international level.

The scientific meeting was held under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed Abdulmoula, vice president for education and Student Affairs, Dr. Alaa Abdul Hafeez, dean of the Faculty of Commerce, with the participation of Dr. Ahmed Al-Adawi, vice dean for education and Student Affairs, Dr. Jacqueline Alvi, teacher in the Department of Business Administration, Coordinator of the English language division and chairman of the scientific committee of the CFA Program, along with engineer Ayman Ayad, director of the Institute of Information Technology, and a number of faculty members and their assistants.

Dr. Ahmed El- Minshawy stressed that the university is keen to adopt scientific initiatives, and supports training programs that refine students ' skills and qualify them for global competition, praising the active participation of the Faculty of Commerce in the international competition for financial analysts CF, stressing that the meeting of "GEN Z ANALYSTS" embodies the University's orientation in preparing qualified cadres who possess the required professional knowledge and skills, contributing to serving the national economy and keeping pace with the needs of the labor market locally and internationally.

  Dr. Ahmed Abdulmoula stressed that the university pays special attention to supporting and caring for outstanding and innovative students, as they are the real wealth for the future of the nation, stressing the University's role in discovering promising energies and motivating them to participate in international competitions that develop their skills and enhance their readiness for the labor market.

For his side, Dr. Alaa Abdel Hafiz praised the efforts of the university administration and the interest of the Egyptian state in caring for young talents and talents, in implementation of the directives of the political leadership, pointing out that Egypt has a human treasure of competencies capable of leading the future in various fields, especially the financial and economic sector.

Dr. Jacqueline Alfie explained that Assiut University, represented by the Faculty of Commerce, is participating in the first edition of the international competition for financial analysts, and is competing in the second season along with 25 other Egyptian universities, stressing that this experience represents a platform for graduating a generation capable of analyzing the financial situation of institutions and developing effective development plans.

  Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University and Commissioner for conducting the work of Assiut Al-Ahlia University, conducted an inspection tour, today, Sunday, July 27, 2025, to follow up the progress of work at Assiut Al-Ahlia University in the new city of Assiut, and to determine its readiness to receive new students with the start of the new academic year.

  During the tour, the President was accompanied by Dr. Nobi Mohammed Hassan, vice president of Al-Ahlia University for academic affairs, professor Mustafa Hassan, secretary general of the University, and engineer Ghada Mahmoud, Director General of the engineering department.

  The president of the University praised the tangible progress witnessed by Assiut Al-Ahliya University in the construction works and educational equipment, especially the laboratories of the second stage at the Faculty of oral and Dental Medicine, which includes the installation of compressed air system, the processing of simulation laboratories, laboratories of fixed and mobile installations, as well as the equipment of the Biotechnology Laboratory at the Faculty of Science and technology, in preparation for the start of study immediately after the necessary requirements are met.

  Following the tour, Dr. El-Minshawy held a meeting at the university headquarters, in the presence of the vice president for Academic Affairs, the secretary general, and the director of the engineering affairs department, in order to follow up on the developments of the work and review the implementation rates of each faculty, discuss the timelines for completion of ongoing work, and emphasize the importance of adherence to academic and structural quality standards.

The president of the University stressed during the meeting that the academic programs at Al-Ahlia university represent a qualitative addition to the higher education system in Upper Egypt, because of its close link with the needs of the labor market, calling for continuing to work with all seriousness to complete the equipment and upgrade the academic and service level, to ensure the provision of an educational environment stimulating creativity and innovation.

The future studies  Center at Assiut University discusses development and research plans to combat corruption and support innovation and digital transformation

 As part of Assiut University's efforts to enhance its role in community development and support scientific research and development issues, the University's Center for future studies held a meeting to discuss its future plans and activities to be implemented during the coming period, under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of the University, and under the supervision of Dr. Jamal Badr, vice president for graduate studies and research and chairman of the center's Board of Directors, Dr. Mohammed Adawi, director of the center, and members of the center's Board of directors.

In this context, Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy stressed that the university continues to perform its societal role through the preparation of future research studies that contribute to finding scientific and realistic solutions to face development challenges, praising the vital role played by the Center for future studies in discussing topical issues and putting forward scientific visions that serve the goals of sustainable development, in addition to its interest in enhancing scientific and cultural cooperation with academic institutions and bodies inside and outside Egypt.

For his side, Dr. Jamal Badr explained that the center is working to consolidate the concepts of integrity and transparency, especially in the field of combating administrative corruption in cooperation with the National Anti-Corruption Academy, pointing to the center's plan to organize a specialized training course on the controls and ethics of scientific research at Assiut University, within the framework of the University's quest to build a responsible research environment based on scientific honesty and professional commitment.

Dr. Mohammed Adawi reviewed the most prominent activities of the center during the past period, including the implementation of a specialized anti-corruption training program that lasted for three months and targeted university students, employees and faculty members, in partnership with the National Anti-Corruption Academy.

The meeting discussed a number of important proposals, including the organization of a workshop on the development of Upper Egypt, the implementation of training courses in data analysis and reporting skills in cooperation with the Egyptian Space Agency, as well as preparation for the implementation of two researches in coordination with the National Academy for combating corruption.

The meeting also discussed ways of cooperation with the future studies unit at the Faculty of media, Cairo University, and preparations for organizing a hackathon entitled "The Future of Science and work: tomorrow's skills for today's opportunities", as well as two specialized workshops discussing digital transformation in Egypt from the perspective of artificial intelligence and cybersecurity.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Mohammed Jaber Qasem, vice dean of the College of education for education and Student Affairs, Dr. Atef Al-Naqib, vice dean of the Institute of materials science and nanotechnology, Dr. Rehab Al-Dakhli, media advisor to the president of Assiut University, Dr. Medhat Murid, professor at the Department of Zoology and entomology at the College of Science, Dr. Mohammed Abdul Azim Nayel, professor at the College of Engineering, Dr. Marwa Bakr, assistant professor of political science at the College of Commerce, and Dr. Ahmed Al-Shura, assistant professor at the Department of political science at the College of Commerce.
