The university has maintained a high level of quality in these publications over the years, with approximately 78% of its papers published in Q1 and Q2 journals, confirming the institution’s excellence in research output.

The analysis also showed that around 66% of the university’s international publications over the past two years resulted from collaborative research with foreign universities and institutions, demonstrating Assiut University’s growing international presence and scientific openness. Additionally, about 19% of the research published in 2024 came from local collaborations with Egyptian universities, supporting national integration and joint research efforts.

For his part, Dr. Gamal Badr highlighted that these research achievements are the outcome of a clear strategy that supports publishing in high-impact journals, provides a stimulating research environment, and ensures funding from the university’s own resources, while also encouraging researchers to seek external funding opportunities. He added that the university succeeded in attracting funding for external research projects amounting to about 4,948,000 US dollars during the current year, which contributed significantly to supporting the scientific research system and developing the capabilities of researchers.

The report also confirmed that the international publications from Assiut University in 2024 addressed
