Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, congratulated the family of the Faculty of specific education at the University for winning the first places in the "ibdaa VI" forum for colleges of specific education at Egyptian universities, which was organized by Benha University from July 19 to 21, 2025, with the participation of nine universities from different parts of the Republic, under the supervision of Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of higher education, and Dr. Nasser Al-gizawi, president of Benha University.

Dr. El-Minshawy expressed his pride and pride in the outstanding results achieved by the college's students in various fields of the competition, stressing that this achievement embodies the University's efforts in supporting student excellence and creativity, and reflects the efficiency of students and the dedication of faculty members in qualifying them scientifically and professionally. He also appreciated the commitment of the college to its leading role in the development of technical, technical and innovative skills among students, pointing out that the forum represents an important platform for cultural and educational communication among university students, and an opportunity to enhance the spirit of cooperation and self-reliance.

The college's participation witnessed the direct supervision of Dr. Ahmed Abdulmoula, vice president for education and Student Affairs, and Dr. Yasmin Al-kahki, dean of the college, and the Coordination of a group of faculty members in various disciplines, who contributed to the preparation and training.

In the same context, Dr. Ahmed Abdulmoula stressed that the high performance of students reflects the integration of efforts between faculty members and students, and embodies the outstanding academic and professional preparation level that the university is keen to provide, stressing the University's continuous support for all student activities.

For her side, Dr. Yasmin Al-kahki expressed her happiness with this achievement, pointing out that the successes achieved were the result of a careful training plan that was implemented by an integrated team of faculty members and the supporting body, stressing the keenness of the college to integrate the theoretical and applied aspects in preparing students, and providing a supportive and stimulating educational environment for creativity.

The participation of the College came under the coordination and follow-up of a group of faculty members specialized in artistic, technical and musical fields, namely: Dr. said Mustafa Mohammed, general coordinator of student activities, Dr. Muntaser Al-qalli, head of the Department of Music Education, Dr. Saad Hassan Mohieddin supervisor of the Department of Education Technology, Dr. Salma Magdy teacher at the Department of Music Education, Dr. Nahed Mustafa teacher at the Department of Music Education, Dr. Fatima Farghali teacher at the Department of home economics, professor Ahmed Mokhtar Abeer Mohammed is the director of the public relations department at the college, and Mr. Mustafa Thabet is a sports specialist in the student welfare department.

The activities of the forum witnessed the excellence of college students in a number of axes; in the field of home economics, student Habiba Ahmed Mahmoud won the first place in ( crochet), student Maryam Ahmed Farghali, the first place in (embroidery), student rovida Mohammed Ali the first place in ( fashion design), and student Rawda Rashad Mohammed the first place in ( knitwear ).

In the field of plastic arts, the student Mohammed Mahmoud Hamdi won the first place in ( photography), the student Ziad Qutb Saad the first place in (sculpture), the student Salwa Sayed Ismail the first place in ( design), the student Rachel Akrami Nassif the second place in ( printing), the student Mahmoud Antar Hussein the second place in ( ceramics), the student Mahmoud Abdel Hafez Sayed, the third place in ( painting ). 

In the field of music education, 9 students won the first place in group singing, and 12 students won the second place in group playing, as 
 The student Mustafa Mohammed Khalaf achieved the second place in (solo singing), and the student Mustafa Mohammed Khalaf the second place in (solo playing).

In the field of Educational Technology, student Mohamed Ahmed Mohamed won the first place in ( photography), student Mahmoud Omar Abdel Azim won the second place in ( software), and student Mohamed Ahmed Mohamed won the second place in ( documentary film).

The president of Assiut University receives the "inacts" team and praises its excellence in entrepreneurship and innovation

Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, received the "inacts" team at Assiut University, in a celebratory meeting reflecting the keenness of the university administration to support and encourage outstanding student teams, and in recognition of the outstanding achievements achieved by the team at the local and international levels in the field of entrepreneurship and innovation.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Ahmed Abdulmoula, vice president for education and Student Affairs, and Dr. Mohammed Adawi, advisor to the president of the University for alumni affairs, entrepreneurship and innovation, and academic supervisor of the team.

During the meeting, Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy expressed his gratitude towards the successes achieved by the team, stressing that what the "inacts" students have provided is a role model in student creativity and community work.

The president of the University said in his statement: "We are proud of the honorable representation of the inacts team at Assiut University in international forums, which reflects the amount of effort exerted and the spirit of innovation and leadership among our students. The fact that the team reached the fourth place globally in the ESCA ACTION with AFRICA competition, and the remarkable progress in the Schneider Electric competition to the list of the top 15 universities in the world, is a great achievement that demonstrates the competence of university students and their ability to compete globally."

Dr. El-Minshawy also pointed out that the university pays special attention to nurturing the talents of students and developing their abilities in the fields of entrepreneurship and innovation, stressing the continued support of the university administration to the team in all its future participations.

It is noteworthy that the "inacts" team of Assiut University has achieved an outstanding performance during the past year, as it was distinguished annually among the top 30 teams out of 60 Egyptian universities in the national competition, in addition to its outstanding results on the international arena.

For his side, Dr. Mohamed Adawi pointed out that the "inacts" team at Assiut University includes more than 320 students from various faculties of the University, which gives the team Academic and intellectual diversity that enriches its various projects.

Dr. Adawi praised the positive spirit and great commitment of the students, their ability to work together and employ their skills in designing and implementing sustainable entrepreneurial projects that contribute to addressing real environmental, social and economic challenges.
He explained that the team is working according to a clear plan aimed at expanding the scope of its projects and developing their community impact, under the direct supervision of the University and its continuous support.

During the meeting, the team members reviewed a number of their most prominent projects implemented during the university year, which varied between environmental, social and economic initiatives, expressing their deep gratitude to the university administration for the support and care they received, which played the main role in pushing them towards achieving these honorable successes.

Assiut University’s Faculty of Science Launches New “Petroleum Geology” Program for the 2025/2026 Academic Year, Supporting Modern Education Aligned with Labor Market Needs

As part of its continuous efforts to expand its specialized academic offerings, the Faculty of Science at Assiut University is pleased to announce the launch of a new academic program in Petroleum Geology for the 2025/2026 academic year. The program is part of the university’s strategic plan to modernize and develop its academic programs in line with local and global labor market needs, and to support the national vision for a more advanced and future-ready higher education system.

The program is launched under the auspices of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, President of Assiut University, and is supervised by Dr. Abdel-Hamid Abu Shahlay, Dean of the Faculty of Science, and Dr. Galal El-Habbak, Program Coordinator.

Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy emphasized the university’s commitment to supporting specialized disciplines that contribute to national development, praising the Faculty of Science for its pioneering role in offering innovative programs built on strong academic and professional partnerships. He also noted that this program represents a significant addition to the university’s offerings and will help prepare highly qualified professionals in the fields of energy and natural resources.

The program aims to prepare graduates with strong competencies in the field of petroleum geology. Upon completion, students will be awarded a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Geology. Enrollment is available starting from either the first or second academic year, and admission is open to students from the Science and Mathematics tracks of Egypt’s General Secondary Education.

The program benefits from the support of several petroleum companies through formal cooperation agreements with the university. In addition, the Department of Geology has signed a scientific agreement with the Faculty of Petroleum and Natural Gas in the Russian Federation to provide international training opportunities for students.

The program qualifies its graduates to work in petroleum companies, applied geology, and natural resource exploration, enabling them to become effective contributors to the labor market and capable of meeting the increasing demands of this vital sector.

Dr. Ahmed Abdel-Mawla, Vice President of Assiut University for Education and Student Affairs, attended—on behalf of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, President of the University ; the meeting of the Council of the South Egypt Cancer Institute, held on Tuesday, July 22, to elect the institute’s representatives for the committee responsible for selecting candidates for the position of Dean of the Institute.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Mohamed Abu El-Magd, Dean of the Institute; Dr. Amr Farouk, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development; as well as other members of the Institute Council.

During the session, a secret ballot was conducted to elect one primary and one alternate representative of the institute to the selection committee. The voting results concluded with the election of Dr. Ashraf Zidan, Professor of Oncology and former Dean of the Institute, as the primary representative, and Dr. Mahmoud Mohamed Mostafa, Professor of Pediatric Surgery at the Faculty of Medicine and former Dean of the Institute, as the alternate representative.

The meeting was marked by a spirit of transparency and discipline, in full compliance with the regulations stipulated in the ministerial decree governing the procedures for selecting university leadership.

Faculty of Science at Assiut University Launches “Plant Biotechnology and Microbiology” Program for the 2025/2026 Academic Year

Under the patronage of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, President of Assiut University, the university continues to offer a distinguished range of academic programs aimed at enhancing the educational system and meet the evolving needs of both local and international labor markets.

In this context, the Faculty of Science announces the launch of the Bachelor’s Program in Plant Biotechnology and Microbiology, a specialized program aimed at providing biotechnological solutions in key development sectors such as lndustry, Agriculture, and the Environment.

South Egypt Cancer Institute at Assiut University Organizes Seminar on “Managing Stress and Challenges During the Illness Journey of Cancer Patients”

The South Egypt Cancer Institute at Assiut University held an educational seminar titled “Managing Stress and Challenges During the Illness Journey of Cancer Patients” on Monday, July 21st. The event was part of the university’s ongoing efforts to provide psychological and social support to patients, especially during the critical phases of treatment.

The seminar was held under the patronage of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, President of Assiut University, and supervised by Dr. Mahmoud Abdel-Aleem, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; Dr. Mohamed Abou El-Magd, Dean of the South Egypt Cancer Institute; and Dr. Amr Farouk Morad, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development.

The symposium was co-organized by Dr. Ibrahim Abou El Ayoun, Director of the University Oncology Hospital, Dr. Joseph William Faragallah, a consultant psychiatrist, Dr. Marit Ishaq, and Pastor Sadek Massad.

The symposium program included two keynote lectures; the first by Dr. Khaled Fathy, professor of pediatric oncology, entitled "The Journey of Hope and Support for Children with Cancer and their Families," and the second by Dr. Maged Azmy, consultant psychiatrist and director general of the Regional Council for Mental Health, on "Psychological Durability and Resilience." The symposium was organized by Assiut University.

Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy emphasized Assiut University's keenness to provide integrated health care for oncology patients, beyond medical treatment to include psychological, social and spiritual support, which contributes to improving the quality of life and alleviating the suffering of patients.

Dr. Mahmoud Abdel Aleem stressed the importance of providing psychological support to oncology patients, pointing out that mental health is a key pillar in the journey of recovery, and called for the sustainability of such awareness initiatives within regular programs and long-term institutional partnerships that contribute to improving the quality of life of patients.

Dr. Mohamed Abou El-Magd highlighted that the seminar aligns with the Institute’s strategy to strengthen psychological support as an integral component of comprehensive medical care, especially for children with oncology.

In a spiritual reflection, Sheikh Ramadan Gomaa, Head of the Religious Endowments Department in Assiut, spoke about the virtues of patience and faith in alleviating the pain of illness, quoting the verse:  "If I am sick, He will heal me," emphasizing the need to hold on to hope.

Pastor Sadiq Massad emphasized that illness is a trial that requires patience, but God's mercy and the wisdom of doctors open the doors of healing, pointing out that faith is a driving force that helps people endure.

The seminar was attended by a large number of faculty members and nurses, patients and their families, as well as representatives of religious institutions, in a scene that reflects the spirit of solidarity and integration in serving patients.

The faculty evaluation committee at Assiut University continues its field work within the framework of the "best eco-friendly college" competition, which is organized by the university to follow up on the colleges ' commitment to sustainable environmental standards, under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of the University, and under the direct supervision of Dr. Mahmoud Abdel Alim, vice president of the University for community service and environmental development.

The third round of the competition witnessed a field visit that included three colleges, where Dr. Mahmoud Abdel Alim conducted an inspection tour inside the colleges of specific education and social service, during which he followed up the implementation of the competition standards on the field, and the committee also visited the College of Arts to follow up its technical and administrative assessment.

Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy stressed that the field tours seek to highlight the points of excellence in the participating colleges and identify shortcomings, if any, through evaluating the procedures of infrastructure, Occupational Safety and health, rationalizing energy and water consumption, and Waste Management, which contributes to build a sustainable green University.

For his side, Dr. Mahmoud Abdul Alim appreciated the efforts of the committee and the cooperation of the colleges, expressing his appreciation for the clear commitment he touched during his visit to the colleges of qualitative education and social service, especially with regard to the application of sustainable environmental standards and integrating their concepts into the educational environment.

The visiting committee of the Faculty of specific education included: Dr. Mohammed Mustafa Hamad (coordinator of the visit), Dr. Rahab Al-Dakhli (media coordinator of the competition), Mr. Osama Al-Sayed (assistant secretary general of the University), Dr. Mohammed Mahmoud al-Wakil, Dr. Sana Zahran, Dr. Randa Youssef, Dr. Mahmoud Al-Qadi and Ms. Nada Youssef (notary of the visit).

They were received at the college by: Dr. Doaa Abdul Mohsen Abdulkader, vice dean for education and Student Affairs, Dr. Wajdi Nakhla, former dean, and a number of department heads, faculty members and administrative staff.

At the College of Social Work, Dr. Mahmoud Abdel Alim received Dr. Iman Abdel Aal, dean of the college, and Dr. Randa Mohammed Sayed, vice dean for community service and environmental development, along with a group of faculty members and a number of administrative officials.

At the Faculty of Arts, the Visiting Committee delegation was received by Dr. Magdy Alwan, dean of the Faculty, Dr. Hamid Mashhour, vice dean for community service and Environmental Development, Dr. Mohammed Abu Rahab, vice dean for education and Student Affairs, Dr. Sameh al Banna, vice dean for graduate studies and research, and Mr. Ezz Al Mansouri, Secretary of the faculty, along with a number of faculty members and staff.

The delegation of the visiting committee of the Faculty of Arts included Dr. Amr said Deif (coordinator of the visit), Dr. Hajjaj Ahmed Hassan, Dr. Rehab Ahmed Zaki, Dr. Walid Eid Mustafa, and professor Ayman Shehata, assistant secretary of the University.

During the visits, the three faculties presented presentations covering the most important activities and practices implemented in the areas of infrastructure, risk management, energy conservation, strengthening the relationship with the community, as well as reviewing efforts exerted in the management of Natural Resources and water.

The committee also conducted field tours inside the colleges ' facilities, including classrooms, administrative offices, computer labs, cafeterias, green spaces, parking lots and bicycles, in order to assess the extent of compliance with sustainable environmental standards.

Assiut University organizes a training forum entitled "Preparing middle management (future leaders)" to develop the skills of young leaders

Under the patronage of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, the training forum entitled "Preparing middle management (future leaders)", organized by the General Department of talent management and Development, kicked off today, July 20, and will last for three days until July 22, in the discussion Hall of the administrative building of the university, under the supervision of Professor Shawkat saber, secretary general of the University.

Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy stressed that the organization of this forum comes within the framework of the University's efforts to develop administrative cadres and qualify employees at the first career level from the group of specialized jobs to assume supervisory positions in the future, pointing out that the forum aims to develop leadership and administrative skills, and enhance the efficiency of institutional performance, thus contributing to the preparation of a qualified second class capable of Keeping Up With Change and achieving administrative excellence. He praised the training programs provided by the talent management and development department aimed at the continuous development of the administrative apparatus in all its sectors.

The forum was attended by Mr. Osama Al-Sayed, assistant secretary general of the University, Mr. Abdulkader Mehran, head of the central human resources department, and Mr. Khaled Omran, director general of the talent management and Development Department, in addition to the participation of about 60 trainees from the first level of employees from various sectors of the University.

In his speech, Professor Shaukat saber expressed his appreciation for the theme of the forum, which seeks to prepare a second class of young leaders capable of creating positive change and raising the efficiency of administrative work, stressing that conscious leadership is the main pillar of any institutional development, and that building the capabilities of middle cadres represents a real investment in the future of the University. He also wished the participants to make the most of the training program and to succeed in translating its outputs into concrete performance.

Over the course of its days, the forum will address a number of important topics, most notably: the importance of preparing the second row of leaders, motivating leaders to support the idea, the necessary qualities for supervisory positions holders, the role of the manager in creating and managing change and improving the work climate, obstacles to change, the impact of communication technology on building the second row, methods of evaluating his performance, and his role in decision-making. The forum also discusses the importance of managers understanding the motives and behaviors of subordinates, and their role in motivating them and developing positive trends.

The forum will be attended by a selection of faculty members at Assiut University, namely: Dr. Atia Abdulkader, lecturer at the Department of Business Administration at the Faculty of Commerce, Dr. Ahmed Sayed sabaei, lecturer at the Department of Business Administration at the Faculty of Commerce, and Dr. Bassem Suleiman Saleh, professor at the Department of pedagogy at the Faculty of Education.

Within the framework of coordinating university admissions for the academic year 2025, and in continuation of the progress of aptitude tests, the Faculty of Fine Arts at Assiut University received a committee from the Supreme Council of universities to follow up on the progress of the tests and inspect the performance of students, under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of the University.

Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy stressed that aptitude tests represent a pivotal tool for selecting students whose technical and cognitive skills correspond to the nature of studying in practical and technical colleges, in order to enhance their academic excellence opportunities. He stressed the need to fully comply with the instructions issued by the Supreme Committee for aptitude tests at the Supreme Council of universities, while providing all means of support and care for students and creating the appropriate atmosphere to perform the tests easily and conveniently, wishing them success and success.

Dr. Ahmed Abdulmoula, vice president of the University for education and Student Affairs, received the delegation of the committee in charge of following up the aptitude tests, which included: Dr. Abdul Rahman Radwan, vice dean of the Faculty of education at South Valley University, Mr. Ahmed Mohammed Mahmoud, and Mr. Baher Mohammed Abdel Hafiz, from the Supreme Council of universities, in the presence of Dr. Mohammed Helmy hefnawi, dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts.

 Dr. Ahmed Abdulmoula stressed the keenness of the university administration to ensure the regularity of all student reception procedures, and the accuracy of reviewing the required documents, in order to ensure the provision of a distinguished service to new students, pointing out that aptitude tests are an effective way to select academically and practically qualified students to enroll in specialties that require special skills.

For his side, Dr. Mohammed Helmy Al-Hefnawi explained the college's commitment to applying all the standards and controls specified by the Supreme Council of universities, in order to ensure transparency and accuracy in evaluating applicants. He added that the number of students applying for aptitude tests reached 236 students, including 81 students from the Scientific Division (sport) to take the tests of the architecture department, and 155 students from the scientific and literary divisions to take the art tests eligible to join the sculpture, photography, decoration, and graphic departments.
