  As part of its pioneering role as the first Egyptian university to be established in Upper Egypt, Assiut University continues to strengthen its position as a scientific and community beacon, through its specialized colleges and institutes that meet the needs of comprehensive development and keep pace with the developments of the Times.

Assiut University has 19 faculties that include the specialties of Medicine, Engineering, Science, Pharmacy, Veterinary Medicine, Agriculture, Law, commerce, arts, education, specific education, sports sciences, social work, dentistry, nursing, Fine Arts, computers and information, early childhood education, in addition to the Faculty of technology and sugar industry, which has been developed to become the first Faculty of its kind in Egypt.

The university also includes a number of Advanced Research and scientific institutes, including the Technical Institute of nursing, the South Egypt Institute of Oncology, the Institute of molecular biology research and studies, the Research Institute of drug development and innovation, and the Institute of materials science and nanotechnology, which reflects the strategic orientation of the university towards applied scientific research aimed at solving society's problems.

 Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy stated that the university is proud of its historical leadership and its pivotal role in serving Upper Egypt and all of Egypt, and we have paid great attention to the diversity of academic programs to graduate qualified cadres in various disciplines, and linking university education to the needs of the labor market and developmental challenges. The faculties and institutes of the University come as an honorable interface reflecting this trend, with their modern programs, advanced infrastructure, and Distinguished Teaching and research cadres.

The president of the University added that the university is continuously working on developing its faculties and programs, in accordance with quality and accreditation standards, focusing on supporting digital transformation, encouraging scientific research, and serving the local and regional community.
 
 Dr. El-Minshawy added that the university is witnessing an increasing demand from students from various Arab and African countries, because of its prestigious academic reputation, an attractive educational environment, and Advanced Study programs that meet the aspirations of students at the regional and international levels.

  Under the patronage of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, and under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed Abdulmoula, vice president for education and Student Affairs, and Dr. Umniah Mohammed Ibrahim, director of the Center for students with disabilities, the university continues to provide bright examples of its students of determination, who have written inspiring success stories in the fields of science, sports and self-development.

The student Dina Noyer Shazly El-Sayed, enrolled in the first division at the Faculty of law, is one of the most prominent of these champions, as her mobility disability did not prevent her from confidently starting towards excellence and brilliance, so she achieved a series of honorable achievements, the most prominent of which were: the gold medal and first place in Table Tennis at the Paralympic meeting in Alexandria in 2022, two gold medals at the martyr Rifai championship in 2025, one in Table Tennis, the other in the javelin competition within athletics, and the bronze medal in the the second place at the level of the republic in the competition "Golden talents" within the coral team of the Center for the care of students with disabilities.

  Dina's excellence was not limited to the sports field only, but she also participated in many student activities organized by the center, such as: touring, choir, and recreational and sports activities. She also received a number of training courses in various fields, including: English language, Photoshop, digital transformation, graphic design, and life skills.

 Dina stressed that what the Center for students with disabilities provided to her had a great impact on refining her personality and developing her abilities, adding: "the center helped me develop myself, and the support I received was a big reason that I am overcoming many difficult moments in my life."
  The story of Dina Noir embodies an inspiring example of willpower and defiance, and confirms Assiut University's keenness, under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, to provide an inclusive educational environment that enhances the abilities of students with disabilities, and pushes them towards excellence and leadership.

Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, President of Assiut University, announced that the Stroke Unit at the University Hospital for Neurology, Psychiatry, and Neurosurgery has received international accreditation as an Advanced Stroke Unit from the World Stroke Organization (WSO). This recognition reflects the unit’s excellence in delivering healthcare that meets the highest international standards in the field of neurology and stroke care.

This achievement comes under the supervision of a distinguished group of medical leaders, including: Dr. Alaa Attia, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the Board of Directors of University Hospitals, Dr. Mohamed Abdel Rahman, Professor of Neurology, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for Education and Student Affairs and Head of the Stroke Unit, Dr. Khaled El-Beih, Head of the Department of Neuropsychiatry, Dr. Tarek Rajeh, Head of the Neuropsychiatry Unit at the University Neuropsychiatry Hospital and Dr. Mohamed Abdel Basset, Director of the Neuropsychiatry Hospital.

Within the framework of coordinating university admissions for the academic year 2025, and in continuation of the aptitude tests, the Faculty of Fine Arts at Assiut University received a committee from the Supreme Council of universities to inspect the performance of students and aptitude tests within the college, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of the University.

Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy stressed that the aptitude tests aim to select students whose skills and abilities correspond to the nature of the study in the disciplines they wish to join, in order to contribute to the development of their abilities and ensure their excellence during their university career. He pointed out the need to fully comply with the instructions issued by the Higher Committee for aptitude tests at the Supreme Council of universities, and ensure the process proceeds according to the set plan, while providing all means of support and care for students, and creating the appropriate climate for them to perform tests easily and conveniently, wishing all students success and success.

 On Tuesday, July 15, Dr. Ahmed Abdulmoula, vice president of the University for education and Student Affairs, received the ability tests follow-up committee at the Supreme Council of universities, which included Dr. Alaa Mohammed Abdul-Ati, Dr. Mahmoud Badr Mohammed, and Professor Mohammed Ahmed Atiya, in the presence of Dr. Mohammed Helmy Hefnawi, dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts.

After the meeting, Dr. Ahmed Abdulmoula conducted a field tour inside the College of Fine Arts to follow up on the progress of aptitude tests, which were conducted inside exam halls 1, 2 and 15, during which he met with a number of students and supervisors, stressing the importance of facilitating procedures for students to ensure that they perform the tests in the best possible environment.

For his part, Dr. Mohammed Helmi Al-Hefnawi explained that the aptitude tests at the college are divided into two types: the first is for the Department of architecture, and is performed by students of the Scientific Division (sport) only, and the second type is the art tests that qualify for admission to the Departments of sculpture, photography, decoration, and graphics, and is available to all students of the scientific and literary divisions. He also confirmed the college administration's full commitment to all the controls and standards set by the Supreme Council of universities to ensure transparency and accuracy in evaluating applicants.

Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, held on Tuesday, July 15, a meeting with the participation of a number of academic and administrative leaders concerned with the institutional development file, in order to discuss ways to accelerate the pace of implementation of a number of educational projects and service expansions at the new campus of the University in the new city of Assiut, to meet the growing needs of students at the local and regional levels.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Mohammed Abdul Samee Eid, former president of the University and full-time professor at the Department of Architecture at the Faculty of Engineering, Dr. Shehata Al-Dabaa, engineering advisor to the president of the University, professor Shawkat saber, secretary general of the University, and engineer Mohammed Thabet, director of engineering affairs department.

During the meeting, Dr. El-Minshawy discussed the ongoing preparations for the opening of the College of early childhood education, as well as discussing the procedures for starting a number of important service projects, which include the establishment of a social club, student and administrative housing, which contributes to enhancing the stability and continuity of the educational process within the new campus, and reflects the University's vision of academic and developmental expansion in Upper Egypt.

  The meeting also included reviewing the steps of implementing the proposed development projects during the next stage, as well as the measures to be taken to lay the foundation stone for these projects, in conjunction with the upcoming visit of Dr. Mohammed Ayman Ashour, Minister of higher education and scientific research, scheduled for the beginning of the academic year 2025/2026.

Dr. El-Minshawy stressed that the university pays great attention to the continuous expansion and development of its educational and service infrastructure, within the framework of the strategic directions of the Egyptian state aimed at supporting educational institutions and modernizing their facilities and services. He also stressed the importance of the community role played by the University in serving the local community and providing support in various educational, medical and cultural fields.

The president of the university appreciated the support of the Ministry of higher education for development projects within universities, pointing out that Assiut University is proceeding at a confident pace according to an ambitious plan aimed at building an integrated educational and research system, capable of meeting the requirements of the Times and the labor market, and keeping pace with scientific and technological progress.

At the end of the meeting, Dr. El-Minshawy stressed the importance of full compliance with sustainability standards in the implementation of all projects, and the preservation of material and human resources, to ensure the establishment of a strong and secure infrastructure capable of serving present and future generations.

Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, confirmed the full technical and technical readiness of the e-coordination laboratories at the University, during his inspection tour conducted this morning, Monday, July 14, to follow up the regularity of work inside the e-coordination laboratories dedicated to serving high school students at the stage of registering aptitude tests, which began on Saturday, July 12 and continues until Thursday, July 24.

Dr. El-Minshawy explained that the university prepares early every year for the coordination period, by equipping laboratories with modern equipment and qualified technical staff, to ensure the provision of safe, accurate and fast electronic service for students and parents, stressing that the University harnesses its technological and human potential to provide a comfortable and supportive registration environment, based on its community and educational role.

The university president's tour included inspecting the electronic coordination Laboratory at the Faculty of Arts on the old campus, accompanied by Dr. Mohammed Abu Rahab, vice dean for education and Student Affairs, Dr. Sameh al-Banna, vice dean for graduate studies and research, Dr. Hamid Mashhour, vice dean for community service and environmental development, and Mr. Ezz Al-Mansouri, Secretary of the college.

During the visit, Dr. El-Minshawy was keen to follow up on the technical and technical readiness of the laboratory by identifying the efficiency of equipment equipment, internet availability and speed, as well as the efficiency of the technical support team supervising the laboratory, which includes two halls containing 49 computers connected to the internet, under the supervision of a team of 10 specialists to provide technical support and guidance to students.

The tour also included an inspection of the electronic coordination laboratory located at the Computer Center in the University City (students), where Dr. El-Minshawy followed up the regularity of work and the extent of readiness to receive students.the laboratory includes two halls equipped with 45 computers, in addition to a monitoring room with cameras, and supervised by a team of 9 specialists with experience in the electronic coordination system.

  The president of the university was accompanied during his tour of the electronic coordination Laboratory in the University City(students) by Mr. Mahmoud Antar, director general of the university cities, Mr. Emad Mohammed Sayed, director of the University City (students), and a number of employees and supervisors in the university cities sector.

The laboratories work daily from eight in the morning until three in the afternoon, amid the constant presence of technical support teams to facilitate registration procedures and ensure immediate assistance to students and parents.

During his tour, the president of the University directed to provide an appropriate organizational atmosphere inside the laboratories, to ensure the smooth and easy registration of wishes, especially during peak periods, with the need to comply with the regulatory procedures approved by the Ministry of higher education and scientific research, provide a sufficient number of devices and enhance technical presence when needed.

  Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy praised the efforts exerted by the operators of the two laboratories, praising their commitment and efforts in providing excellent service, stressing that the student's interest will remain a major priority for the university administration, which supports its students from their first steps until their graduation.

 Under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of the University, the Faculty of Fine Arts launched, on Monday, July 14, a distinguished art exhibition entitled "preserving personal traits, their nature and their impact on public figures in field sculpture", in the presence of Dr. Ahmed Abdul-Mawla, vice-president of the University for education and student affairs, supervised by Dr. Jamal Badr, vice-president of the University for graduate studies and research, and Dr. Mohammed Helmi El-Hefnawy, dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts, and vice-dean of the college for graduate studies and research, and with the participation of Dr. Mohsen Salim, head of the sculpture department and assistant professor by section, the owner of the idea of the exhibition and his exhibited works.

  Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, pointed out that the organization of the exhibition comes within the framework of the University's keenness to support the artistic and cultural activities at the Faculty of Fine Arts, because it represents an important aspect in the educational and creative process, explaining that the exhibition represents an artistic and educational experience that contributes to enriching students ' knowledge of field sculpture techniques, and also reflects the role of faculty members in providing applied models that enhance aesthetic concepts and are related to the reality of society and its public figures.
   
 Dr. Ahmed also praised the quality of the exhibited sculptural works, appreciating the effort exerted in their implementation, stressing the importance of sculpture as an artistic means of expressing the distinctive features of public figures and automatically that preserves their nature from distortion and tampering through time.
 
 For his side, Dr. Mohammed Helmy Al-Hefnawy, dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts, explained that the exhibition is one of the exhibitions for promotion to the degree of Professor, and highlights the talent of the artist Dr. Mohsen Selim, head of the sculpture department and assistant professor at the department, and his ability to embody the nature of public figures through his artistic skills and experience in the field of sculpture, in a way that enhances cultural and creative identity, and reflects societal values and symbols smoothly and creatively.

Dr. Mohsen Salim explained that the exhibition included nine sculptures executed using bronze and fiberglass coated with bronze, embodying several public figures with an impact on society. He noted that the preservation of the subtle features of human nature gives the sculptural work a depth and high artistic expression, enhances interaction with the audience, and contributes to the development of their artistic and creative taste.

The opening of the exhibition was attended by a group of faculty leaders, including Dr. Mohamed Abdel Hakim, vice dean for education and Student Affairs, Dr. Sahar Boutros, vice dean for community service and Environmental Development, Dr. Mansour Al-Mansi, former dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts, Dr. Wajdi Nakhla, former dean of the Faculty of specific education, in addition to Professor Mukhlas Farouk Ayad, Secretary of the faculty, and several faculty members and members of the jury of graduation projects from various Egyptian universities.
