June 30 Revolution".. Assiut University launches specialized centers and advanced infrastructure towards the New Republic

Assiut University is moving steadily towards the future, inspired by the spirit of the glorious June 30 Revolution, which reshaped the priorities of the Egyptian state and brought higher education to the forefront of the development landscape of the New Republic. In this context, the university has witnessed a qualitative leap in recent years in comprehensive development projects, including the modernization of its infrastructure, the launch of specialized centers that enhance the quality of education and support national trends towards sustainable development.

Under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of the university, Assiut University implemented a large-scale replacement and renovation plan that included various faculties and sectors, in line with the latest academic and engineering standards. The opening of the University Center for professional development came as one of the most prominent of these projects, to contribute to preparing and qualifying students and graduates for the requirements of the labor market, and reducing the gap between academic education and the needs of productive and service institutions.

In a qualitative leap to support scientific research and innovation in Upper Egypt, the university has opened a branch of the science, technology and innovation Financing Authority STDF on campus, to provide services to more than 19 public, private and private universities in Upper Egypt governorates, by supporting research projects with a societal impact and linking their outputs to industry and environmental needs.

As part of improving the environment for students and the services provided to them, the university opened a new recruitment services office in the services complex, with the aim of facilitating procedures related to military models for students, thus relieving them of the burden of mobility and saving time and effort. The Faculty of Agriculture also witnessed an integrated development of the automated dairy at the animal production farm, which is located on an area of 800 square meters, and includes administrative buildings and a laboratory for collecting and packing milk manually, in a step reflecting the development of Applied activities in practical faculties.

The university did not lose sight of its environmental and aesthetic role, so it established a multi-domed air-conditioned ornamental greenhouse, the first of its kind in Upper Egypt, which contains about 3,000 species of plants, and operates with intelligent control systems in humidity, heat and irrigation, and serves both productive and scientific purposes at the same time.

The development work also affected the outpatient clinic building of the General Directorate of medical affairs, where it was completely rehabilitated and equipped to include six examination rooms in multiple specialties, and provides free treatment services for students, in addition to medical examinations for new students and aptitude exams.

As part of the efforts to improve the university accommodation environment, the university opened the student residence building (B) after its development at a cost of 13 million pounds, to include a comprehensive upgrade of facilities, rooms and furniture, in addition to allocating a full wing to serve students with disabilities on the ground floor, to enhance their full integration into university life.

These qualitative projects come within a broader plan adopted by Assiut University to provide an integrated educational, health and living environment, in harmony with the vision of the New Republic and serve the Sustainable Development Goals.

These achievements reflect the magnitude of the qualitative leap witnessed by Assiut University, and confirm its sincere commitment to its educational and community mission, and its response to the directions of the Egyptian state in light of the gains of the June 30 Revolution, which rebuilt state institutions on modern foundations, and put education at the forefront of its priorities to build the Egyptian man capable of creating the future.
