The Faculty of Computers and Information at Assiut University launches the activities of the third edition of the "employment and self-employment" forum with the wide participation of major technology companies

Assiut University witnessed, on Sunday, May 4, 2025, the launch of the activities of the third session of the "employment and self-employment forum", which was organized by the Faculty of Computers and Information in cooperation with the branch of the Institute of Information Technology in Assiut, affiliated with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, university president, and the supervision of Dr. Ahmed Abdul-Mawla, vice president of the University for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Heba Saleh, president of the Institute of Information Technology, and Dr. Tayseer Hassan Abdul Hamid, dean of the College of computers and information.

 

The events were attended by Dr. Mahmoud Abdul Alim, vice president of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development, Dr. Jamal Badr, vice president of the University for Graduate Studies and Research, along with several faculty members, a selection of experts, developers, and specialists in the fields of technology, and representatives of 22 local and international companies operating in the sector, which provided more than 250 job opportunities and training for university graduates.

 

The forum was held under the supervision of Professor Dr. Khaled Fathi Abdul Aziz, vice dean of the Faculty of Computers and Information for Education and Student Affairs, and engineer Ayman Ayad, director of the branch of the Institute of Information Technology in Assiut.

 

 Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy stressed that the forum is an important interactive platform that enables students and graduates to communicate directly with employment institutions and learn about the realistic requirements of the labor market in various fields of modern technology, including artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, data analysis, and digitization. He explained that the University seeks to support the culture of self-employment, promote entrepreneurship thought in line with national trends of digital transformation, and empower young people in the fields of advanced technology.

 

For his side, Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Abdel Alim explained that the forum embodies the University's vision of preparing qualified cadres capable of competing in the labor market, and reflects the efforts of the Ministry of Higher Education and scientific research in strengthening the link between academic institutions and the labor market and providing real opportunities for Egyptian youth.

 

Dr. Jamal Badr toured the exhibition of companies participating in the forum, which included 22 technological companies, that provided more than 250 job opportunities and training for university graduates, praising the level of fruitful cooperation between the University and those companies, reflecting the business community's confidence in the quality of Education outputs at the University.

 

 Dr. Tayseer Hassan Abdul Hamid expressed her pride in the students of the Faculty of Computers and Information, stressing that they represent the most prominent beneficiaries of this type of partnership, because of their efficiency and excellence, which enabled them to prove themselves in major international institutions, wishing them further success and progress.

 

Dr. Khalid Fathi Abdul Aziz pointed out that the forum is a golden opportunity to develop students ' technical and professional skills and enhance their ability to actively engage in the labor market through interaction with leading technology companies.

 

In his speech, engineer Ayman Ayad conveyed the greetings of Dr. Heba Saleh, president of the Institute of Information Technology, to the administration of Assiut University, praising the partnership that began since 2007 when the University hosted the headquarters of the Institute, which started with only 100 trainees, and today reached more than 5,000 training grants annually, stressing that the institute is not limited in its support on the technological side, but is keen to develop comprehensive skills qualified for the labor market.

 

Engineer Hossam Megahed, chairman of the board of Directors of the association "Elites NGO", stressed that the ICT sector in Egypt is facing a challenge represented by the lack of qualified cadres, in exchange for the availability of a large number of young people looking for job opportunities, stressing that the best solution is to develop technological skills for young people, especially in Upper Egypt governorates, through effective partnerships such as cooperation between Assiut University and the Institute of Information Technology.

 

The opening of the forum witnessed the presentation of a documentary film highlighting the aspects of cooperation between the Institute of Information Technology and the College of Computers and Information, a review of the most important activities of the Institute and its services provided to students, as well as a video of a number of graduates of the college and the Institute who joined the labor market in major companies.

 

The forum included a series of lectures and dialogue sessions, presented by several representatives of local and international companies, including: "From Education to Employment: Building Bridges of Success" by engineer Hossam Megahed, "digital generations of Egypt: empowering youth to shape the future" by Dr. Firouz Mahmoud, Director of training at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology," success story" by Dr. Hussein Ibrahim, Microsoft," programming at the speed of thinking" by Dr. Mohamed Beltagi, Optomotica, and"beyond coding" by engineer Nada Ehab, from gabi, and"remote work ethics" by Engineer Ahmed Ayman, from turn digital, and"data technologies and products" by engineer Mohamed Abdo, from spaceman, and"post-graduation" by engineer Hani Abdul Wahab, and"financial technology" by engineer Andrew saber, from Petra, and"the story of the establishment of clinical platform for booking medical services" by engineer Haitham Essam

 

This forum comes within the framework of Assiut University's efforts to enhance employment opportunities and digital entrepreneurship and support the capabilities of its students and graduates to qualify them for strong competition in the local and international labor markets.

Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, opened on Sunday, May 4, the exhibition of graduation projects for final-year students at the Faculty of computers and Information Technology, and students of the Information Technology Institute in Assiut ITI, which was organized by the Faculty of computers and information as part of the activities of the "employment and self-employment forum" in its third edition, in cooperation with the branch of the Information Technology Institute in Assiut.

 

The president of the university was accompanied on his tour during the exhibition by: Dr. Jamal Badr, vice president for graduate studies and research, Dr. Tayseer Hassan Abdul Hamid, dean of the Faculty of computers and Information, Dr. Khaled Fathy, vice dean for education and Student Affairs, Engineer Ayman Ayad, director of the Institute branch in Assiut, and Mr. Ihab Abdul Hamid, director of the medium, small and Micro Enterprise Development Authority, with the participation of a number of faculty members, students, and a number of developers and technicians from various technological companies.

 

During the opening ceremony, Dr. El-Minshawy expressed his appreciation and admiration for the creative and innovative scientific production provided by the students through their projects, which reflected the level of development and outstanding training enjoyed by the University's students and graduates, calling on them to continue to develop their ideas, seek to apply them and compete regionally and globally. 

 

Dr. El-Minshawy stressed that Assiut University is constantly keen on qualifying promising university youth to keep up with the requirements of the labor market and the latest technology, praising the unlimited creativity of its students and the ability to keep up with the latest technological and technical education in various fields of science.

 

During his tour of the exhibition, the president of the University praised the extent to which students were able to explore and apply artificial intelligence technologies in their ideas and projects, which keeps pace with the strengthening of the University's management of all modern applied and technological fields in various sectors, wishing them a bright future and continuous success in all fields of technology and its applications.

 

The projects of the students of the Faculty of computers and information included a lot of creative ideas, which numbered (16) a project, during which the students relied on employing the latest artificial intelligence applications and technologies in various scientific fields and knowledge, including; applications and websites for educational games, Smart networks, electronic exam monitoring systems, a website to facilitate learning, a surveillance camera equipped with the latest technologies, as well as a mobile application to find lost items, and another application for recipes and diets.

 

The projects also included the "Rahala" platform, which is an integrated tourism platform on the web and mobile, the "Nabta" application in the agricultural field, as well as a desktop application with a computer to measure glycines and diagnose diseases, the "business" website for data analysis, a mobile application to identify skin diseases, burns and necessary first aid, a digital website for managing the fleet of Assiut University cars, in addition to a medical mobile website and application to identify the nearest pharmacy and doctors ' consultant, as well as a smart watch that determines the health status of the child according to his health history.

 

As for the projects of ITI students, they were participated by 10 students, submitted about 400 an idea and an innovative project that they worked on and implemented during their years of study in the fields of; Free Lance freelance jobs, website building and design, open source applications, digital marketing, and website development.

Assiut University launches the podcast "Assiut University News" in English during the period from 18 to 24 April 2025.

Under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, the university launched a new podcast, broadcast in English, with the aim of enhancing communication with the academic community at the local and international levels, during the period from 18 to 24 April 2025. The podcast aims to highlight the most prominent university activities and events, in addition to reviewing the latest research and academic achievements, reflecting the leading position occupied by Assiut University in various scientific and cultural fields.

The Faculty of specific education at Assiut University organizes the exhibition "African women architects" as an embodiment of artistic creativity and cultural identity

The Faculty of specific education at Assiut University organized an art exhibition entitled "African engineering", Dr. Salwa Maher Ahmed Zahran, assistant professor at the Department of art education, under the auspices of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of the University, and under the supervision of Dr. Jamal Badr, vice president for graduate studies and research, and Dr. Yasmin Al-kahki, dean of the college.

Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy praised the organization of the exhibition, noting that it reflects the ability of students to employ art as an effective tool for expressing cultural identity and cultural affiliation. He stressed that these exhibitions represent a platform for creativity within the University, and reflect its keenness to discover and nurture young talents, and encourage meaningful arts that contribute to improving public taste and promoting cultural dialogue through plastic arts, as a global language that transcends geographical and cultural boundaries.

The exhibition was held under the supervision of Dr. Nariman Saeed, vice dean for graduate studies and research, and Dr. Hala Salah, head of the art education department, and in the presence of Dr. Mohammed Abdul Basit, vice dean for community service and environmental development, along with a number of faculty members, staff and students.

For his side, Dr. Jamal Badr explained that the exhibition is part of the promotion exhibitions for faculty members, and is a distinctive example of the intellectual and visual creativity that art can provide, pointing to the balance shown by the paintings between geometric precision and creative freedom, by presenting non-representative formations of men's and women's bodies in the African context.

Dr. Yasmin Al-kahki also explained that the exhibition's paintings followed the "geometric abstraction" style, which is one of the modern visual arts, based on two-dimensional geometric shapes such as triangles, circles, straight lines and curves, in regular and dynamic configurations without reference to elements of reality or nature.

Dr. Salwa Maher pointed out that the exhibition included ten paintings based on geometric structure and color as the main elements, rather than direct depictions of bodies or realistic scenes, which gave the works a sense of harmony, balance and accuracy. Color also played an active visual and emotional role through the use of bold and contrasting colors to create visual effects such as suggesting movement or depth, using digital graphic programs in the design and execution of paintings.

Dr. El-Minshawy praises the excellence of Assiut University students at the final conference of the Egyptian cabinet simulation model in its thirteenth season

Assiut University witnessed the final conference of the Egyptian Council of Ministers simulation model in its thirteenth season, under the auspices of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of the University, and under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed Abdel-Mawla, vice president of the University for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Madiha Darwish, general coordinator of student activities, and Dr. Haitham Ibrahim, Director General of the Youth Welfare Department.

Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy praised the excellence of the university students and their outstanding performance during the model, stressing that what the students presented reflects their ability to be creative and take responsibility, their deep awareness of the issues of their homeland, and their readiness to actively participate in building the future. He also stressed the University's keenness to support student activities that contribute to developing youth's political, economic, and social awareness, expressing his pride in the understanding and intellectual acumen shown by students during their simulation of government work.

For his side, Dr. Ahmed Abdulmoula explained that the simulation model represented a unique practical experience, through which students had the opportunity to get acquainted with the decision-making mechanisms within the government and develop their political, leadership, and administrative skills. He added that the students were divided into teams representing different ministries, during which they underwent training and supervision from specialists to enhance their ability to provide realistic and innovative solutions to community issues.

The model was implemented under the supervision of Mr. Ahmed Shaaban, director of the Department of Political Education, Mr. Ashraf Talaat, coordinator of the model, and Martin Nasser, president of the University Students ' Union. The jury included Dr. Madiha Darwish, Dr. Ahmed Nadi, and Dr. Ahmed Abdel Rahim from the Faculty of Commerce.

The conference was attended by 10 teams representing different ministerial portfolios, each team consisting of three students in the roles of minister, deputy minister, and Secretary of the ministry. Each team presented a working paper that addressed the most important issues and challenges related to their ministry, with a collective discussion of the ideas and visions put forward.

The events included honoring members of the jury, employees of the political education department, Youth Welfare supervisors at colleges, as well as the president of the student union. Shields were also distributed to the winning colleges, where the Faculty of Law won first place, followed by the Faculty of Commerce in second place, then the Faculty of Physical Education in third place, in addition to presenting individual awards to the best minister, deputy minister, and Ministry secretary, and handing certificates of appreciation to all participating students.

The Innovative Projects Unit at Assiut University supports student projects and discusses the future work plan

As part of Assiut University's keenness to promote innovation, entrepreneurship, and creativity in the student community, the University witnessed the meeting of the Council of the unit for innovative projects and student creativity to follow up the work plan during the coming period, under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of the University, and in the presence of Dr. Ahmed Abdul-Mawla, vice president of the University for education and Student Affairs, and members of the unit Council.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Mohamed Adawi, advisor to the president of the University for alumni affairs, entrepreneurship, and innovation, Dr. Ali Mohamed, professor at the Faculty of Agriculture, Dr. Zeinab Abdel Hafez, assistant professor at the Faculty of Specific Education, Dr. Gamal Abdel Nasser, general supervisor of the unit, Dr. Ali Hussein, teacher at the Faculty of computers and Information, Dr. Mohamed Hussein, executive supervisor of the unit, and Dr. Haitham Ibrahim, Director General of the General Administration of student welfare. Also present were Mr. Ihab Abdel Hamid, head of the medium and small enterprises authority in Assiut, Ms. Lola Atta, managing director of the unit, and Ms. Mary Mahfouz from the Innovative Projects Unit.

Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy stressed that supporting student innovation and creativity is among the priorities of the University's strategy, stressing the keenness of the university administration to provide a supportive environment for distinguished student projects and linking them with the needs of society and the labor market. He also pointed out the importance of organizing competitions and training programs aimed at developing the creative abilities of students to contribute to the preparation of cadres capable of excellence and innovation.

For his side, Dr. Ahmed Abdulmoula explained that the meeting discussed the work that had been completed during the past period, as well as reviewing the plan of the unit. The meeting also addressed several important topics, most notably: the approval of the formation of Student Innovation and creativity teams representing the colleges, which includes a supervising faculty member, one of the employees of the Youth Welfare Department, and the secretary of the scientific committee of the college, and a proposal to launch a page on the official website of Assiut University, under the supervision of the Innovative Projects Unit and the Information Systems Center, to showcase students ' projects and their creative products, crafts, handicrafts and heritage, which they implement with their resources. He presented three student projects submitted by the Faculty of Engineering to participate in upcoming local and international competitions, including competitions to be held in England during July, and another in the new city of Alamein in August, in addition to international competitions at the Military Technical College, discussing the proposal to establish a permanent sales outlet on campus to market the products of student projects, as part of the University's support for entrepreneurial projects and innovative ideas.

This meeting comes within the efforts of the Innovative Projects Unit to enhance student participation, motivate students to be creative and turn their ideas into practical, actionable and marketable models.

The Faculty of Fine Arts at Assiut University organizes an art exhibition entitled "The Connotations of the Symbol to express the Palestinian cause in the scenography of the theatrical performance "Naima"

Under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, the University witnessed the opening of an art exhibition entitled (The Connotations of the Symbol to express the Palestinian cause in the scenography of the theatrical performance "Naima"), by Dr. Ghada Salah al-Najjar, assistant professor and head of the decoration Department, Faculty of Fine Arts, which is organized by the faculty in the Hall (1) and lasts for two weeks.

Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy praised the art gallery, praising the efforts of the College in providing meaningful works of art that contribute to the development of community awareness and express national and humanitarian issues. He stressed that the university is keen to support artistic and cultural activities that contribute to improving their public taste and enhancing national belonging among students.

The exhibition comes under the supervision of Dr. Jamal Badr, vice president for graduate studies and Research Affairs, Dr. Mohammed Helmy Hefnawi, dean of the College of Fine Arts, and in the presence of Dr. Mohammed Abdul Hakim, vice dean for education and Student Affairs, Dr. Mohammed Badari, former dean of the college, Mr. Mohammed Juma, director of the art department at the General Administration for student welfare, the director of the theatrical performance, a selection of faculty members and staff of the college, and several students of the college.

Dr. Jamal Badr stressed the importance of the practical application of the theoretical study, as it shows the real impact of the study on the ground; through the results it provides that can be exploited and applied, which is reflected by the presentation of the exhibition of decoration, fashion and accessories designed by Dr. Ghada Al-Najjar, and carried out by students of the Expressive Arts Department of decoration, and students of the photography department, for the theatrical performance (Naima), which participated in the ibdaa festival organized by the Ministry of youth and sports, and the twelfth theatrical Creativity Festival at Assiut University.

Dr. Mohammed Helmy Al-Hefnawi explained that the exhibition is one of the exhibitions of promotions for faculty members of the college to the degree of Professor in the field of specialization, and aims to link the scientific study with the application, pointing out that the exhibition will be organized into a research paper, aimed at analyzing the significance of symbols in the scenography of this show, and exploring how to employ them to enhance dramatic messages, and is scheduled to be published in one of the specialized scientific journals.

Dr. Ghada al-Naggar pointed out that Naima's play is based on a famous folk epic from the Egyptian folk heritage, which was written by the poet Darwish Al-Assuiti and directed by the artist Mohamed Gomaa, director of the art department at the University. The events take place in one of the villages of Upper Egypt and combine different concepts (love, hatred, good and evil), and the conflict between them, and carry in its content symbolic dimensions and connotations expressing the current events in Gaza, Palestine, and the violations of human rights, killing and displacement of its people.

She explained that the decoration and clothing are some of the most important elements of the scenography in the theatrical performance, where the decoration succeeded in expressing the place of events and delivering specific dramatic messages, in three scenes: Hassan's house; in light beige to express purity, symbols and decorations painted on it in green to denote goodness and development, the door came to the entrance of the old house to represent the homeland, while Naima's house was executed in blue to represent hatred and conspiracy, and on the wall a symbol of the house key surrounded by chains that symbolize restrictions, and the third scene is water), which is a fence on the banks of the Nile, behind which parts of the sails of boats appear, one of which is shaped like a map of Palestine (Homeland).

She added that the clothes and accessories expressed the features of the characters, the character (Naima), the main character in the show, is costume of white, red, green, and Black; inspired by the flag of Palestine, and(Hassan) with his simple, dreamy personality wears a white robe and a distinctive Palestinian scarf to express peace and purity.

The English Language Center at the Faculty of Arts, Assiut University honors Dr. Hassan Abdel Shafik in recognition of his efforts in serving the center and students

Under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, the English Language Center at the Faculty of Arts organized a ceremony honoring Dr. Hassan Abdel Shafik, the former director of the center, in recognition of his outstanding efforts and effective contributions to the development of performance at the center and enhancing the quality of educational services provided to students, under the supervision of Dr. Mahmoud Abdel Alim, vice president of the University for community service and environmental development, and Dr. Abeer Mohammed Raafat, supervisor of the center.

The ceremony was attended by Dr. Mohammed Abu Rahab, vice dean of the College of Arts for education and Student Affairs, Dr. Sameh al-Banna, vice dean for graduate studies and research, Dr. Ahmed al-Mukhtar, former vice dean of the college and former director of the center, as well as a number of department heads, faculty members and staff of the college.

Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy praised the vital role played by the English Language Center in the development of language skills, not only for university students but also for the external community, through the specialized educational services it provides, stressing that honoring distinguished models of faculty members and the administrative apparatus reflects the University's keenness to appreciate academic and administrative giving, and encourage a culture of institutional work that contributes to raising the efficiency of performance inside and outside the University.

  Dr. Mahmoud Abdel Alim expressed his pride in participating in this honor, praising Dr. Hassan Abdel Shafik's advanced educational vision and administrative efficiency, which positively influenced the performance of the center and student satisfaction with its services, stressing that the university pays great attention to honoring the distinguished and stimulating creative energies within its various units.

For his part, Dr. Hassan Abdul Shafiq expressed his gratitude for this honor, stressing that the successes achieved were the fruit of teamwork and fruitful cooperation between the college administration and the center, thanking the university administration for its continuous support and creating an educational environment stimulating creativity and excellence.

  Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, hosted this morning Major General Dr. Hisham Abu Al-Nasr, governor of Assiut, in a meeting to discuss ways to enhance cooperation between the University and the governorate, support the University's community role, and contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and Egypt's Vision 2030, within the University's strategy (2024-2029).

 

During the meeting, they discussed implementing a community development initiative aimed at addressing health challenges in Assiut Governorate through cooperation between Assiut University doctors, doctors of the Ministry of Health, Nursing, and pharmacists. This initiative contributes to solving the existing health crises and upgrading the level of medical services provided to citizens.

 

Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy welcomed Major General Dr. Hisham Abu Al-Nasr, governor of Assiut, and his accompanying delegation, expressing his pride in the close relations between the University and the governorate, and stressing Assiut University's constant keenness to deepen and expand this cooperation to serve the local community.

 

Dr. El-Minshawy pointed out that Assiut University is a major partner in achieving community development and supporting the Sustainable Development Goals, in addition to its leading role in the development of the medical sector, and upgrading the academic, educational and research process alike.

 

For his part, Major General Dr. Hisham Abu Al-Nasr, governor of Assiut, expressed his appreciation and pride for Assiut University and its active role in serving the community, praising its scientific competencies and distinguished medical facilities that represent a strong addition to Assiut Governorate.

 

The governor stressed that Assiut University has a clear footprint locally and internationally, as its graduates and professors occupy prestigious positions in many countries of the world, which reflects its scientific leadership and its role as a national and International House of expertise in various fields.

Dr. El-Minshawy congratulates Dr. Nobi Mohammed Hassan, former dean of the College of Engineering, on winning the third place award in the Security Studies competition for the Prince Nayef Arab Security Award for 2024

Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, extends his congratulations to Dr. Noubi Mohamed Hassan Abdel Rahim, former dean of the Faculty of Engineering and vice-president of Assiut University for Academic Affairs, on winning the third place award in the Security Studies competition for the Prince Nayef award for Arab security for the year 2024, organized by the secretariat of the Council of Arab ministers of the interior in Tunisia.

 

The president of Assiut University pointed out that Dr. Nobi's victory reflects the scientific and research excellence he enjoys, and comes as a result of his outstanding research work in a study entitled: "Artificial Intelligence and its Applications in the Field of Crime Control (International Experiments – strategic plan)", which reviewed how artificial intelligence technologies can be used in the fight against crime in its various stages (before the crime, during the crime, and after the crime).

 

The study consists of 160 pages and deals with distinguished international experiences from the United States of America, China, the United Kingdom, France, the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, where it provided a deep analysis of the various applications used in those countries, and linked them to security strategic plans. The study also touched upon the prospects for the use of artificial intelligence technologies in the fight against crime, as well as the challenges facing it.

 

The study also included a proposed strategic plan that includes theses and operational and procedural initiatives, indicating the stages of implementation of the plan and its relationship with the responsible parties, and how to arrange the necessary funding to achieve the desired success.

 

It is worth mentioning that Prof. Dr. Nobi Mohammed Hassan has already won the second place award for this award in 2018 for his study entitled: "A tripartite system to combat cybercrimes".

 

Dr. El-Minshawy confirms that this victory reflects the outstanding scientific and research capabilities of Assiut University, contributes to strengthening its position on the scientific and regional arena, and reflects the efforts exerted in the field of scientific research and academic development.
