Dr. El-Minshawy praises the excellence of Assiut University students in the eleventh Summit Forum of the ideal student competition at Fayoum University

Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, praised the honorable performance presented by the university students during their participation in the eleventh Summit Forum of the Ideal Student competition, which was organized by Fayoum University, with the participation of (21) public, private, and private universities.

 

Dr. El-Minshawy expressed his pride in the Advanced results achieved by Assiut University students, stressing that their academic and ethical excellence reflects the continuous efforts exerted by the University in supporting its students, developing their abilities and skills, thus enhancing its leading position at the level of Egyptian universities.

 

The participation resulted in Assiut University winning second place at the level of Egyptian universities in the collective competition, in addition to the student Mohammed Abu Al Qasim, Faculty of Medicine-fifth division, winning fifth place individually among the students of participating universities.

 

The participation of the student delegation came under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed Abdulmoula, vice president of the University for education and Student Affairs, Dr. Madiha Darwish, general supervisor of student activities, Dr. Haitham Ibrahim, Director General of the General Department of Youth Welfare, Ms. Umaima Ibrahim, director of the social activity Department, and Ms. Nahla Mohammed, social activity Department.

 

The student delegation included both:

Launch of the Student Day Activities at the Faculty of Medicine, Assiut University, Within the Framework of Its 35th Annual Conference Entitled “Artificial Intelligence and Healthcare: Benefits and Challenges”

Under the patronage of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, President of Assiut University, the activities of the Student Day at the Faculty of Medicine commenced today, Sunday, April 27. The event highlights the efforts of the faculty’s students and training doctors in various fields of scientific research, as part of the 35th Annual Conference of the Faculty of Medicine, held under the theme “Artificial Intelligence and Healthcare: Benefits and Challenges.” The conference is scheduled to take place on April 28–29 at Dr. Mohamed Raafat Hall in the university’s administrative building.

 

The event was attended by Dr. Ahmed Abdel-Mawla, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs; Dr. Mahmoud Abdel-Aleem, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; Dr. Alaa Attia, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the University Hospitals’ Board; Dr. Amany Omar, Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research; Dr. Mohamed Abdelrahman, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs; Dr. Huda Makhlouf, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development; and Dr.Heba Attia, Director of the Quality Assurance Unit at the Faculty.

 

The Student Day activities were organized under the supervision of the Scientific Committee of the 35th Annual Conference, which includes Dr.Samir Shehata, Professor of Oncology; Dr. Maha El-Khouly, Professor of Thoracic Diseases; Dr.Soheir Kassem, Professor of Internal Medicine, General Supervisor of Training Doctors and Coordinator of the Student Day; and Dr. Medhat El-Araby, Professor of Public Health and Community Medicine.

 

Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy emphasized that the launch of the Student Day activities as part of the 35th Annual Conference of the Faculty of Medicine, titled “Artificial Intelligence and Healthcare: Benefits and Challenges,” reflects the University’s commitment to supporting its students in scientific research and innovation, and enabling them to keep pace with global developments in modern healthcare fields. He stressed that the University prioritizes creating an integrated educational environment that enhances students’ academic and research capabilities, opening wide horizons for creativity and excellence, and contributing to the preparation of outstanding medical cadres capable of keeping pace with the requirements of the local and international labor market.

 

For his part, Dr. Ahmed Abdel-Mawla praised the efforts of the Faculty of Medicine and the organizing committee, noting that organizing a scientific day for students reflects the faculty’s dedication to developing their research and scientific skills. He added that choosing artificial intelligence as the conference theme demonstrates the faculty’s forward-looking vision to qualify doctors to keep pace with modern technology.

 

Dr. Alaa Attia stressed that this year's conference focuses on discussing the benefits and challenges associated with the introduction of AI technologies in healthcare, ranging from improving diagnosis and treatment, to addressing the ethical and regulatory issues associated with it.

 

Dr. Amany Omar praised the scientific and research achievements of the training doctors and their international publications, which reflects the quality of academic training at the faculty and its interest in encouraging the culture of scientific research among students.

 

Dr. Mohamed Abdelrahman pointed out that the faculty is keen to provide an integrated educational environment that supports students through training workshops, specialized courses and community service projects, which contributes to qualifying them for the medical labor market and enhancing their role in society.

 

Dr. Huda Makhlouf stressed that the Student Day gave students the opportunity to present their scientific research and discuss it with a group of professors and experts, as part of the conference activities, which also addressed the benefits of artificial intelligence in the medical field, in addition to the challenges associated with its application.

 

In the same context, Dr.Soheir Kassem explained that the activities of the Student Day included various lectures from senior professors in various scientific and psychological fields, in addition to presenting theatrical performances, scientific competitions, and presenting the most important research presented and published internationally by the faculty students and training doctors.

 

The Student Day concluded with the honoring of a number of faculty members who supervised the training of training doctors, as well as the staff members who contributed to the success of the event.

Dr. El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University participates in the meeting of the Supreme Council of Universities at Hurghada University 

Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, participated in the regular meeting of the Supreme Council of universities, which was held on Saturday at the headquarters of Hurghada University, chaired by Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of higher education and scientific research, and in the presence of Dr. Mustafa Rifaat, Secretary of the Supreme Council of universities, university presidents and council members.

 

 Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy stressed that the council discussed during its meeting a number of important topics, including following up on the ongoing preparations for the end-of-the-second semester exams for the current academic year, as well as emphasizing the early readiness for coordinating university admissions for the academic year 2025. The meeting also discussed the reports of several committees concerned with the development of the university education system.

 

The council congratulated His Excellency President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, the president of the Republic, the armed forces, and the Egyptian people on the occasion of the celebration of the forty-third anniversary of the liberation of Sinai. The council also expressed its thanks and appreciation to His Excellency President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi for his great support to the higher education system in Sinai, which has witnessed a great renaissance over the past ten years with a total investment of 23 billion pounds in the establishment of public, private and technological universities, which contributes to meeting the development needs in Sinai.

 

During the meeting, Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of higher education and scientific research, stressed the importance of the readiness of universities and institutes for the end-of-year exams, with the need to announce the schedules early to ensure the organization of the exams, and the regular attendance of faculty members, the auxiliary body and administrative staff throughout the exam period to ensure its orderly conduct.

 

Dr. Ayman Ashour also stressed the need to intensify awareness-raising efforts to familiarize students with the challenges facing Egyptian national security, through organizing seminars and hosting influential national figures, in order to enhance students ' awareness.

 

In another context, Dr. Ayman Ashour pointed out the need to activate the "Tamkeen" initiative to support students of determination, highlight their talents and abilities, and work to fully integrate them into the university community, announcing the establishment of a central unit at the Ministry of higher education to coordinate with universities in this file.

 

The minister also stressed the importance of enhancing efforts to attract international students to study at Egyptian universities, pointing out that the ministry is implementing an ambitious plan to confirm Egypt's leadership as a distinguished regional and international educational destination, taking advantage of the distinguished human and scientific potentials possessed by Egyptian universities.

 

During the meeting, the council reviewed a report on the activities of the Ministry of Higher Education and scientific research during April, in addition to a presentation made by Dr. Rasha Sharaf, secretary general of the Education Development Fund under the presidency of the Council of ministers, addressing the Cisco academic courses, training programs available to students, mechanisms to enhance cooperation between the fund and universities within the "Be Ready" initiative, in addition to reviewing the scientific disciplines required for the global labor market.

 

The council also listened to a presentation by Dr. Omar Salem, director of the Electronic and Knowledge Services Center at the Supreme Council of Universities, on the electronic platform for community service and environmental development, and its role in recording the achievements of universities in this field, as well as alliances between universities and civil society and industrial institutions, and presented plans for universities in this sector.

Students of the Japanese Center at Assiut University participate in a cultural evening to enhance Egyptian-Japanese cooperation

Within the framework of strengthening cultural and educational cooperation between Egypt and Japan, Students of the Japanese Center for Education and Research Activities at Assiut University, under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of the University, participated in a distinguished cultural evening held at the hospitality of H. E. Ambassador Fumio Iwai, ambassador of the state of Japan in Cairo. The evening witnessed the participation of delegations of students and faculty from several Egyptian universities, including the Universities of Cairo, Ain Shams, the Egyptian-Japanese University of Science and Technology in Alexandria, the Canadian university, and the Egyptian University of Science and Technology.

This participation came under the supervision of Dr. Jamal Badr, vice president for graduate studies and research, and in the presence of Dr. Dina Murad, director of the Japanese Center for Education and research activities. The event was also attended by several participating students from Assiut University, namely Ahmed Dwaib Hussein, Ashhar Ahmed Samir, Dia Hassan Saad, and Professor Asma Mahmoud Ahmed, the center's administrator.

Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy praised the good and fruitful relations between the University and the embassy of the state of Japan and the Japanese Foundation in Cairo, stressing the continuation of cooperation between the two sides through many joint programs such as the exchange of personnel and the organization of activities in collaboration with the Japanese embassy. Which enhances the spirit of international collaboration and strengthens friendship and understanding between the two countries.

Dr. El-Minshawy also appreciated the role of the Japanese Center for Education and Research Activities at Assiut University, which is a strong addition to the university by providing high-level education to its students, enhancing their ability to compete in various local and international fields. He pointed out that the Center organizes many meetings for faculty members and students, which aims to introduce them to scholarships and training, in addition to introducing Japanese culture.

For her side, Dr. Dina Murad explained that the evening began with a busy reception from Ambassador Fumio Iwai, who welcomed the visiting delegations to his residence, expressing his great appreciation to Assiut University and its Japanese Center, and addressed a special greeting to the participating students. She added that the evening included open dialogues between a group of Egyptian and Japanese professors and students, where they addressed various topics about Japanese culture and Customs, in addition to organizing interactive cultural competitions. The attendees were divided into six groups, each group included six students from different universities, where the most famous student Ahmed Samir, from the Faculty of Arts, Department of English at Assiut University, managed to win first place in the group.

Assiut University organizes an introductory meeting on "statistical analysis using SPSS" in the development of library services

The General Administration of Talent Development and the General Administration of Libraries at Assiut University, under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of the university, organized an introductory meeting entitled "The Science of Statistical Analysis using the SPSS program", in the discussion Hall of the administrative building, under the supervision of Dr. Jamal Badr, vice president of the University for graduate studies and research, and professor Shawkat saber, secretary general of the University.

Dr. Ahmed El-Manshawi explained that organizing the meeting comes within the framework of the University's endeavor to raise the efficiency of university library staff and provide them with modern skills in data analysis. This supports the University's orientation toward digital transformation and enhances the role of libraries as an essential tributary in the educational and research process.

The meeting was attended by Mr. Osama al-Sayed, assistant secretary general of the University, Mr. Abdulkader Mehran, head of the Central Department of Human Resources, Dr. Mohammed Badri Anwar, Director General of libraries, and Mr. Khaled Omran, Director General of talent management and development, in addition to the participation of about 46 trainees from library staff.

Dr. Jamal Badr stressed that the SPSS program is an important tool for developing university library services. By analyzing usage data, measuring performance, and understanding the needs of beneficiaries, the program contributes to improving the quality of services and making decisions based on accurate data.

Mr. Shawkat Saber pointed out the importance of enhancing the capabilities of library staff in dealing with modern technological developments, to support the University's efforts in developing the educational process, wishing the trainees to take full advantage of the topics of the meeting.

The meeting was presented by Dr. Zainhum Fikri Jaheen, professor at the Faculty of Science and vice chairman of the board of Directors of the Public Services Center for Scientific Theses and research and supervisor of the statistical analysis unit, where he discussed the basics of Statistics and data analysis using the SPSS program.

Assiut University wins the third place in the volleyball finals (students) of the Egyptian universities Championship "martyr Rifai 52"

Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, announced that the University team won the third place in the finals of the volleyball tournament (students), within the activities of the Fifty-second edition of the martyr Rifai course, hosted by Alexandria University during the period from April 19 to 23, 2025, under the supervision of Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of higher education and scientific research, and Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of youth and sports, and under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed Kamel Mahdi, secretary general of the Egyptian sports federation for universities.

The participation of Assiut University came under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed Abdulmoula, vice president for education and Student Affairs, Dr. Madiha Darwish, general supervisor of student activities at the University, Dr. Haitham Ibrahim, Director General of the General Department of Youth Welfare, Mr. Ihab Ramadan, director of the sports activity Department, Captain Tarek Mohammed Abdullah, team coach, and Mr. Jamal Hassan Rajab, from the sports activity Department.

  Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy congratulated the participating team, praising the honorable performance provided by the students during the championship, stressing that this achievement reflects the spirit of commitment and determination of the university students, and embodies the results of continuous support and interest in student activities.

The president of Assiut University also stressed the University's keenness to support its students and encourage them to actively participate in various national events, believing in the importance of building an integrated personality for students that combines academic and athletic excellence.

Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University and chairman of the board of Directors of the new university club, chaired yesterday evening, Thursday, April 24, the meeting of the club's Board of directors. The meeting was held to follow up on the ongoing development work and discuss a number of topics related to the club's future plan. In addition, the agenda of activities scheduled to be implemented during the summer vacation was discussed.

 

The meeting was attended by the members of the board of directors, namely: Dr. Ahmed Abdul Mawla, vice chairman of the board of Directors, Dr. Amr Sayed, Dr. Madiha Darwish, dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and general coordinator of student activities, Dr. Alaa Attiyah, dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Dwaib Saber, dean of the Faculty of Law, Dr. Shorouk Jamal, Dr. Amal Hassan, Mr. Abdul Hadi Hassan, financial director of the club, and Mr. Mohammed Jaber, managing director.

 

During the meeting, Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy expressed his appreciation for the efforts exerted by the club's management in developing and improving the level of services provided to members, appreciating the concrete development work completed over the past period.

 

The president of Assiut University stressed that the university pays great attention to the new university club, as a distinctive outlet for faculty members, employees, and their families, pointing out that the meeting comes within the framework of following up on the development work, and keenness to provide various social, cultural and recreational activities during the summer, which contributes to strengthening ties and communication between members of the university community.

 

The meeting also discussed several administrative and service files aimed at raising the efficiency of the work system within the club and reviewed the activity report during the period from January 1 to March 31, 2025. The mechanisms of accelerating the ongoing development works in the vicinity of the mosque were also discussed, and guidance was given to quickly purchase the necessary supplies, including fans and furnishings for the club's garden.

 

During the meeting, Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy announced the opening of the reservation door for the summer units at Assiut University Village on the north coast, for club members.

 

After the meeting, Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, accompanied by the members of the club's Board of directors, conducted an inspection tour to follow up on the development and renovation works taking place in the club's facilities, and was also keen to meet with several club patrons to check the level of services provided and listen to their suggestions.

Assiut University offers condolences on the death of Pope Francis in the Coptic Catholic Archdiocese

As part of its keenness to promote the spirit of brotherhood and national unity, Assiut University, under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, the president of the University, participated in the presentation of the duty of condolence on the death of Pope Francis, the pope of the Catholic Church, in the "heavenly" Hall of the Coptic Catholic Archdiocese of Assiut.

On behalf of Assiut University, Dr. Ahmed Abdelmoula, vice president for education and student affairs, offered his condolences during his visit to the Coptic Catholic Archdiocese, where he was received by His Eminence Anba Daniel Lotfi, the Coptic Catholic Archbishop of Assiut, and several fathers, priests, monks, and nuns.

The ceremony was attended by Major General Hisham Abu Al-Nasr, governor of Assiut, Dr. Mina Emad, Deputy Governor, Dr. Marwa Kadwani, rapporteur of the National Council for women in Assiut, Dr. Ahmed Sharit, undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance in Assiut, as well as a number of faculty members and administrative leaders at the University, and leaders of Assiut Governorate from various sectors.

Dr. Ahmed Al-manshawi, president of the University, expressed his sincere condolences and sincere condolences to the people of Egypt and to the Coptic Catholic brothers in this great affliction, stressing that Pope Francis was a global symbol of peace and tolerance, and devoted his life to promoting interreligious dialogue and spreading the values of love and cooperation between peoples.

Assiut University President opened the first engineering recruitment forum to support young people and provide real training and employment opportunities

Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, opened the first engineering recruitment forum on Wednesday, April 23, in the presence of Dr. Ahmed Abdul-Mawla, vice president of the University for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Mahmoud Abdul-Alim, vice president of the University for community service and environmental development, and Dr. Jamal Badr, vice president of the University for graduate studies and research.

 

The forum will be held under the supervision of Dr. Khaled Salah, dean of the College of Engineering, Dr. Mohammed Safwat, vice dean for community service and Environmental Development, Dr. Zainab Ibrahim, coordinator of the forum, and in the presence of Engineer Mohammed Ramadan, member of the Council of the Assiut sub-syndicate of engineers, Dean Ayman Ayad, director of the branch of the Information Technology Institute in Assiut, and Mr. Ihab Abdul Hamid, head of the small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority in Assiut, as well as leaders and representatives of participating recruiters, and a large number of students and graduates.

 

In his opening speech, Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy stressed that the organization of this forum comes as an extension of the University's approach to holding employment forums aimed at supporting young people and facilitating their transition from study to the labor market by identifying their needs and providing training and employment opportunities in line with them.

 

He added that Assiut University, as part of its strategy, sets itself the task of preparing cadres capable of innovation and competition and providing knowledge to contribute to building the nation and achieving the goals of Egypt's Vision 2030.

 

Dr. El-Minshawy praised the student projects presented within the activities of the forum, stressing that they embody the creativity and innovation abilities of university students, and reflect the extent to which these projects are related to the actual market needs. He also welcomed the recruitment institutions, companies, and engineering bodies participating in the job fair held within the forum.

 

The president of the university also praised the specialized seminars and workshops included in the forum on the topics of freelance engineering work in the era of Informatics, financing opportunities, and support for entrepreneurial projects, stressing the importance of these axes in light of the accelerated digital transformations and the growth of entrepreneurship fields, which opens new horizons for young people.

 

Dr. El-Minshawy praised the pivotal role played by the Union of Engineers in supporting employment and professional practice, through training and qualification programs that raise the efficiency of engineers and facilitate their involvement in the labor market.

 

For his side, Dr. Khaled Salah, dean of the Faculty of Engineering, pointed out that the forum comes within the framework of the University and the college's plan to strengthen the link between graduates and the labor market, and to create a stimulating environment for creativity, praising the effective cooperation between the various sectors of the college and its units in order to organize this event.

 

He stressed that the forum is a model of institutional integration, as it was organized by the education and students sector, the community service and environmental development sector, the alumni follow-up unit, the student training unit, the quality assurance unit, and the College Students ' Union, in addition to the academic departments and the administrative apparatus, to provide direct job opportunities and training grants, and strengthen relations with community recruitment and training bodies. He thanked the university administration, headed by Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, for its constant support of the college's activities.

 

The job fair accompanying the forum is attended by 21 job agencies, which offer a variety of job opportunities and engineering training scholarships, in addition to some jobs in support of the engineering sector.

 

The forum also witnessed an exhibition of outstanding student graduation projects, which included: a robot for cleaning factories, another for cleaning water bodies, a nurse robot, a rescue robot, a three-dimensional concrete printing machine, a smart wheelchair capable of climbing stairs, a device for remote irrigation of agricultural lands, a unit for desalinating seawater using solar energy, a project to convert plastic waste into industrial products through plastic injection, a dual communication system in Sign Language, along with several other engineering innovations.

 

The forum was attended by Engineer Mohammed Ramadan, who spoke about the role of the engineers ' union in supporting employment and professional practice, Dean Ayman Ayad, who spoke about engineering work under the information revolution, and Professor Ihab Abdul Hamid about mechanisms and opportunities for financing and supporting small and medium-sized projects.

 

The opening events concluded with honoring the leaders of Assiut University, the speakers at the forum, the institutions and companies participating in the employment fair, the members of the organizing committee, and the Students ' Union of the Faculty of Engineering.
