  The Council of Assiut University, chaired by Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, held its monthly meeting today, Wednesday, April 23 in the presence of Vice-rectors of the university, deans of faculties, and the Secretary General of the university; to discuss several topics related to the educational, research and service process. 

 

At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy extended his sincere congratulations, appreciation, and pride to His Excellency President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, president of the Republic, and to all the great Egyptian people on the occasion of the anniversary of the Sinai Liberation Day, that precious national anniversary that we all cherish, in which we evoke the sacrifices of the men of our valiant armed forces and their determination to recover a dear part of the soil of this dear homeland.

 

The president of Assiut University stressed that this immortal occasion is the culmination of a long march of struggle, as the Great Crossing in October 1973 culminated in the victory of the Egyptian army over the Israeli occupation forces, and the last soldier of the occupation forces came out on April 25, 1982, to raise the Egyptian flag high over the Sinai Peninsula, announcing the restoration of the Egyptian land in a majestic scene that embodied the victory of the National will, Egyptian politics and diplomacy alongside the glorious military victory.

 

Dr. El-Minshawy also congratulated the members of the University Council, faculty members, members of the administrative apparatus, students, and employees at the University and in various state institutions on the occasion of Labor Day, which we celebrate on the first of May, stressing our appreciation for every hand that works and contributes its effort to advance development and serve our beloved homeland.

 

 The president of Assiut University stressed the importance of the next stage in the course of the academic year, during which we are preparing for the start of the end-of-the-second semester exams at various faculties of the University, which requires more effort and discipline from all departments, faculty members, their assistants, and employees to ensure the conduct of exams in an orderly and calm atmosphere.

 

In this context, Dr. El-Minshawy called on the deans of the colleges to provide the appropriate environment within the committees to help students focus, while emphasizing calm and discipline, and full commitment to the standards of the exam paper in terms of form and content, to achieve justice among students and reflect the true level of each of them, wishing everyone success.

 

The council reviewed the latest activities and notable events during April, most notably: the reception of Dr. El-Minshawy to the prime minister during his visit to Assiut and praising the efforts of the state in the development of Upper Egypt, the opening of the second phase of the training program for employees at Assiut University, the launch of the fourth edition of the advanced laparoscopic surgeons workshop at the South Egypt Institute of Oncology, the opening of major development works for the South Egypt Institute of Oncology in Assiut at a cost exceeding 28 million pounds, and the signing of three protocols of cooperation with the Egyptian Space Agency to support scientific research and Space Applications.

 

The council praised the reception of film critic Emad Yousry during his participation in the introductory meeting at the Media Egypt Summit for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and the reception of the dean of the Faculty of Sports Sciences at Turkey's Hadji Bektash Veli University to discuss academic and research cooperation, and the military adviser to the governorate of Assiut with the launch of the first national education courses for Assiut University students

 

The council appreciated Dr. Elk-Minshawy’s participation in the Egyptian-French higher education forum, in the discussion session held on the sidelines of the forum's activities on academic and academic cooperation, as well as participation in the activities of the second international conference on technological education, and in the activities of Assiut Governorate celebrating its national day.

 

The council approved the financial regulations of the Student Activities Center at the Faculty of Dentistry.

 

The council approved the amendment of the internal regulations of the Faculty of education on granting students the degree of Doctor of philosophy in education.

 

 The council approved the appointment of several professors, assistant professors, and teachers at various faculties of the University, and the adoption of regulations governing the educational process of the University's faculties.

The journal "Studies in Childhood and Education" at Assiut University joins the digital database "Marefa"

Dr. El-Minshawy: a scientific achievement that reflects the University's efforts in supporting scientific research and international publishing

 

Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, announced the accession of the journal "Studies in Childhood and Education", issued by the Faculty of Education for early childhood, to the digital database "Marfa", considering this inclusion a qualitative step and an important achievement that reflects the University's continuous commitment to support outstanding scientific publishing, in a way that enhances the development of the research system and contributes to raising the University's status in international rankings.

 

Dr. El-Minshawy pointed out that this success comes as a culmination of the magazine's keenness to adhere to the standards of sober Scientific Publishing, which contributes to raising the academic reputation of the University, and increases the presence of its research at the local and Arab levels.

 

The president of Assiut University congratulated the editorial family of the journal, praising their sincere and distinguished efforts that resulted in this achievement, stressing that the joining of the journal to "Marfa" is evidence of its continuous development and its keenness to support Arabic scientific content and enhance its position in the research community regionally and internationally.

 

For his side, Dr. Jamal Badr, vice president for graduate studies and research, explained that the inclusion of the Journal in the "Marfa" base would enhance the level of academic publishing at Assiut University, and contribute to expanding the scope of research and studies, in line with the University's strategy to support scientific research and increase its impact.

 

In the same context, Dr. Yara Ibrahim, dean of the College of Early Childhood Education and editor-in-chief of the Journal, confirmed that the journal is published under the supervision of Dr. Manal Anwar, vice dean for graduate studies and research and editorial Secretary of the journal, noting that this accession represents an important step towards expanding the circulation of the Journal in the Arab research arena, and enhancing its role in supporting specialized studies in the fields of childhood and education.

 

It is worth mentioning that "maarafa" is one of the largest digital databases specialized in Arabic scientific content, as it includes more than 7,000,000 scientific records covering various disciplines. The database provides advanced tools for collecting, organizing and disseminating information to serve researchers and academic institutions in the Arab world.

Dr. El-Minshawy chairs the selection committee of the dean of the Faculty of Nursing at Assiut University

Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, chaired this Wednesday evening, April 23, the meeting of the selection committee of candidates for the position of Dean of the Faculty of nursing, within the framework of the University's keenness to apply institutional and professional efficiency standards in the selection of academic leaders.

 

The committee included an elite group of faculty members from inside and outside the University, headed by Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, and the membership of: Dr. Mohammed Abdul Azim Talab, former vice dean of the Faculty of Commerce for graduate studies and research and director of the Strategic Planning Unit at Assiut University, Dr. Hassan Abdul Latif Abu Al-Ula, professor at the Faculty of Medicine at Assiut University and former vice president of the New Valley University for graduate studies and research, Dr. Awatef Abdel Razek Mohammed, from Minya University, and Dr. Hala Ramzi Youssef, former vice dean of the Faculty of Nursing for graduate studies and research.

The president of Assiut University congratulates professor Shawkat saber on winning the membership of the beach volleyball committee in the Arab Federation

Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, extended his sincere congratulations and good luck wishes to Professor Shawkat saber, secretary general of the University and a member of the board of Directors of the Egyptian Volleyball Federation, on the occasion of his selection as a member of the beach volleyball committee of the Arab volleyball federation, expressing his pride and pride in this achievement, which is an extension of an honorable career in serving sports at the local and Arab levels.

As part of its continuous efforts to provide a supportive work environment and improve the level of services offered to its employees, the board of Directors of the fund for environmental, productive, and service projects at Assiut University, under the auspices of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of the University, held its meeting today, Tuesday, April 22, under the supervision of Dr. Mahmoud Abdel Alim, vice president of the University for community service and environmental development, and in the presence of council members.

 

Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy stressed that the fund for environmental, productive, and service projects is one of the main pillars on which the university relies in supporting its resources and enhancing its ability to implement its community and service role optimally, adding that the university is constantly working on developing the work system of the fund, through expanding its productive and service activities in line with the University's vision of achieving self-sufficiency and consolidating the concept of a productive University.

Assiut University is organizing a workshop on "mechanisms for evaluating awards" within the activities of the third cycle of the Quality and Excellence Award 2025

The quality and excellence department at Assiut University organized, on Tuesday, April 22, a training workshop entitled" Mechanisms for evaluating awards", within the activities of the third cycle of the University Award for Quality and Excellence – 2025, under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, and with the participation of 32 trainees from the residents of the various categories of the award from the University's administrative staff.

 

The workshop aimed to discuss the evaluation mechanisms and criteria for the four award categories, namely: the best faculty category, the best team category, The Best Website category, and the best e-initiative category.

 

The workshop was opened in the presence of Dr. Mahmoud Abdul Alim, vice president of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development, Dr. Jamal Badr, vice president of the University for Graduate Studies and Research, Dr. Abdul Hakim Radwan, quality and evaluation consultant at the Government Excellence Project at the Ministry of planning and international cooperation, as well as several administrative leaders and employees in various sectors of the University.

 

The workshop was supervised by Mr. Shawkat Saber, secretary general of the University, and the assistant secretaries of the University: Dr. Buthaina Al-Kashef, supervisor of quality and excellence management, Mr. Osama al-Sayed, Mr. Ayman Shehata, in addition to Mr. Mohammed Abbas derdir, vice chairman of the quality and excellence management board and executive director of the award.

 

Dr. El-Minshawy stressed that the quality and excellence award is one of the important institutional tools to consolidate the concepts of quality and promote excellence within the university, praising the workshop that aims to enhance transparency and equal opportunities by clarifying the evaluation criteria and mechanisms for all participants.

"Fighting rumors and false media" awareness seminar at the Faculty of Commerce, Assiut University

Dr. El-Minshawy: fighting rumors requires promoting awareness and a culture of information verification

Under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, the Faculty of Commerce organized today, Tuesday, April 22, an awareness seminar entitled "fighting rumors and false media", under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed abdulmoula, vice president of the University for education and Student Affairs, Dr. Alaa Abdul Hafeez, dean of the Faculty of Commerce, Dr. Mohammed Ahmed Adawi, vice dean for education and Student Affairs, Dr. Marwa Bakr, coordinator of student activities at the College, Dr. Rehab Al-Dakhli, head of the media department at the Faculty of Arts and media advisor to the president of Assiut University.

 

  The seminar was also attended by Dr. Amal Al-Dali, vice dean for community service and Environmental Development, Dr. Nesma Heshmat, vice dean for graduate studies and research, in addition to a group of faculty members, youth welfare officials, leaders preparation activity, and a large number of students.

 

Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, stressed that the University's mission is not limited to academic education only, but also extends to promoting real community awareness among its students through seminars and educational events that focus on important societal issues, foremost of which is the danger of rumors. Dr. El-Minshawy added that the fight against rumors starts from enhancing awareness among individuals, spreading the culture of verifying sources, and motivating professional media to play its role in conveying the truth responsibly and transparently. In this context, he stressed that the state pays great attention to combating fake news, and supports platforms that provide reliable content.

 

For his side, Dr. Alaa Abdul Hafeez, dean of the Faculty of Commerce, stressed the importance of combating rumors as one of the most prominent national security challenges in the current era, pointing out that rumors are no longer just false news but have become a systematic means of destroying trust between citizens and state institutions, calling on students to investigate accuracy before circulating any information.

 

Dr. Mohammed Ahmed Adawi, vice dean of the Faculty of Commerce for education and Student Affairs, pointed out that rumors pose a serious challenge to the state's public policy, because of their direct impact on citizens ' confidence in their institutions, and their ability to destabilize society and confuse development plans. He explained that the "PPIS" program, one of the new programs at the college, contributes to fortifying public policies against the negative effects of misinformation and promoting good governance based on transparency and conscious community participation.

 

For her part, Dr. Marwa Bakr, coordinator of student activities, appreciated the efforts exerted by the university administration in supporting student awareness activities, noting the importance of enhancing media awareness among students and training them to verify information before circulating it. She stressed the need to take advantage of student activities as a space to spread awareness and strengthen national belonging.

 

Dr. Rahab Al-Dakhli, head of the media department and media adviser to the president of Assiut University, praised the university administration's support for student activities that contribute to building youth awareness and facing societal challenges. She stressed the importance of media awareness in the face of false media.

 

The lecture presented by Dr. Rahab Al-Dakhli addressed the impact of fake news and rumors on public opinion, reviewing vivid examples of misinformation using fabricated images, misleading headlines, artificial intelligence techniques, fake accounts and rumors, pointing out the danger of these examples to society.

 

Dr. Al-Dakhli stressed that confronting false media starts from the individual's awareness, calling for critical thinking and checking the sources of information before circulating them, and supporting clean and responsible professional media.

 

The media adviser to the president of Assiut University also pointed out that Egypt is a major target of the fourth generation wars, which rely on internal destabilization through unconventional means such as spreading rumors, spreading chaos, and questioning state institutions through social media, stressing that Egypt is the tip of the balance in the Middle East and a key axis in the equation of regional stability. She added that any attempt to reshape the map of the region cannot take place without influencing Egypt or trying to destabilize it, given its cultural, historical, geographical and political weight.

 

  She explained that the fourth generation wars are aimed at influencing the Egyptian interior by unconventional means, which do not rely on military invasion, but are based on psychological warfare, spreading rumors, spreading chaos, exploiting social media to spread lies, questioning state institutions and undermining citizens ' confidence in his leadership. She stressed that these wars aim to weaken the state from within, negatively affect the collective consciousness and sow a state of frustration and confusion, in order to control the Egyptian national decision and turn it from an independent decision to a subordinate.

 

  Dr. Rahab Al-Dakhli praised the wisdom and insightful vision shown by His Excellency President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi in addressing these challenges, stressing that he provided a leading model in national leadership that faces the risks surrounding the homeland with determination and determination. She explained that President Al-Sisi put the interest of the homeland in the first place, and strived hard to build strong institutions and achieve stability at a time when the region was witnessing a series of collapses and challenges.

 

At the end of the seminar, an open dialogue was organized with the students about their social responsibility in the face of rumors and responding to them with awareness and knowledge. Assiut University is witnessing the launch of the "labor market penetration" program to qualify young people and provide employment opportunities in cooperation with higher education and social solidarity

Assiut University witnessed, on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, the launch of the "labor market penetration" program, which is being held under the auspices of Dr. Mohammed Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Maya Morsi, Minister of social solidarity, and Dr. Ahmed Al-manshawi, president of Assiut University, as part of the state's efforts to empower young people and qualify them for the labor market. The program will continue until April 29, in the presence of Dr. Mohammed Al-Aqbi, Assistant Minister of Social Solidarity for Strategic Communication and Media Affairs and supervisor of social solidarity units at universities.

 

The program is being held under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed Abdul Mawla, vice president of the University for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Mahmoud Abdul Alim, vice president of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Mr. Ahmed Al Mansouri, coordinator of the social solidarity unit at the University, and the organization of the social solidarity unit at Assiut University, in cooperation with Sawiris Foundation for Social Development and Edge Education, with the participation of a selection of faculty members, administrative leaders, leaders of civil society institutions, and a large gathering of students and graduates.

Dr. El-Minshawy added that the university places as its top priority the preparation of a graduate capable of competing in the local and regional labor market, through the adoption of such development initiatives that contribute to the rehabilitation of young people and give them the necessary tools to succeed in their professional paths.

 

For his side, Dr. Ahmed Abdul Mawla welcomed the holding of the program at Assiut University, noting the full support provided by the university to training and rehabilitation programs that help young people to engage in the labor market, especially in light of the rapid digital transformation and the expansion of the use of artificial intelligence tools, which requires young people to develop their technical, communication and marketing skills.

 

Dr. Mahmoud Abdel Alim also stressed the importance of the program in serving the Egyptian youth segment, which represents about 60% of the Egyptian population, praising the efforts of the social solidarity unit at Assiut University in various fields including social protection, economic development, business incubators, and community awareness of pivotal issues such as volunteering and women's empowerment.

 

Dr. Mohammed Al-uqbi expressed his appreciation for the good organization of Assiut University for the program, and the warm welcome it gave to the participants, explaining that the program includes specialized trainings in multiple fields, including digital marketing, e-commerce, banking and the financial sector, fintech, Human Resources (HR & Talent Acquisition), business development, and content creation (Content creation).

 

Mr. Ahmed Al-Mansouri pointed out that the training is carried out by a group of experts, including Engineer Ahmed Rashad, founder of the business platform in Arabic, Dr. Emad Qatara, an expert in the banking sector, Dr. Yahya Othman, an expert in digital marketing, Mr. Ahmed Magrabi, an expert in e-commerce, Mr. Mohammed Al-cloth, a specialist in financial technology, Ms. Siham Rafat, an expert in talent acquisition; Ms. Rania Magdy, a specialist in the commercial sector, Ms. Zeinab Reda, specialized in the development of interfaces, Ms. Alia Ali, expert content strategist

Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, President of Assiut University, has confirmed that the university hospitals are at full readiness for Sham El-Nessim celebrations. This comes as part of the university’s commitment to providing comprehensive healthcare services to citizens during holidays, in line with the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

 

Dr. El-Minshawy explained that all emergency and reception departments are fully prepared to work around the clock, while enhancing the presence of medical and nursing teams in critical departments, and organizing work schedules to ensure uninterrupted service. He also stressed the importance of the availability of necessary medicines and medical supplies, and coordination with the concerned authorities to ensure a quick response to any emergency.

 

The University President pointed out that these preparations come in implementation of the directives of Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, who directed raising the degree of readiness in all university hospitals during the holidays, providing medical staff and necessary supplies, and full coordination with the hospitals of the Ministry of Health and Population to provide an integrated and safe health service for citizens.

 

For his part, Dr. Alaa Attia, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the Board of Directors of University Hospitals, confirmed that the reception departments, including emergency, trauma, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, and burns units — are operating efficiently 24 hours, supported by all medical staff and equipment, to ensure that all emergency cases are received during the Sham El-Nessim holiday without any shortcomings.
