Assiut University Women’s Health Hospital Organizes Its Seventh Conference on Placenta Accreta with Broad Participation from University Professors and Ministry of Health Doctors

Under the patronage of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, President of Assiut University, the Women’s Health Hospital organized its 7th scientific conference on placenta accreta, as part of the university’s ongoing efforts to promote scientific research and stay abreast of the latest developments in specialized medical fields.

 

The conference was attended by Dr. Ahmed Abdel Mawla, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, under the supervision of Dr. Alaa Attia, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the Board of Directors of University Hospitals, Dr. Ahmed Nasr, Head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Director of the hospital, and Dr. Kamal Zahran, Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Chairman of the conference.

 

Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy emphasized that the organization of the seventh scientific conference on placenta accreta reflects the university’s commitment to supporting scientific research and keeping pace with the latest medical advances in highly specialized fields. He noted that the university places special focus on areas that affect women’s health and safety, especially in light of the noticeable increase in cesarean section rates and the related complications. He praised the role of the Women’s Health Hospital and the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology in organizing specialized scientific conferences and advancing clinical practice, which contributes to improving the quality of medical care provided to mothers and patients in general.

 

The conference was attended by a number of medical leaders, including Dr. Mohamed Zein, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in Assiut, Dr. Diaa Eldin Abdel Hamid, Head of the Assiut Medical Syndicate and Director of the Urology Surgery Hospital, as well as a group of professors and researchers from Egyptian universities and doctors from the Ministry of Health.

 

On the sidelines of the conference, the hospital organized a scientific day in the presence of Dr. Gamal Badr, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research. The scientific day included presenting complex medical cases and performing accurate surgeries directly to the participants, with the aim of practical training and promoting the exchange of experiences among doctors.

 

For his part, Dr. Abdel Mawla appreciated the scientific and humanitarian mission of the conference, which focuses on providing safe delivery for mothers, through continuous training and refining the skills of doctors in making the right decision during critical situations.

 

Dr. Mohamed Zein also noted the importance of the effective partnership between the Ministry of Health and Assiut University as a successful model for the integration of efforts between educational and health institutions in providing advanced medical services.

 

Similarly, Diaa Eldin Abdel Hamid stressed that cooperation between the academic system and health institutions is one of the pillars of developing medical education and advancing scientific research in Egypt.

 

Dr. Ahmed Nasr explained that Assiut University Women's Health Hospital succeeded in developing an innovative technique to for closing the placental site while preserving the uterus, which has proven its effectiveness and safety, noting that the hospital's medical team has performed hundreds of accurate operations in this field, thanks to cooperation and coordination between obstetrics, anesthesia, intensive care, nursing and blood bank specialties.

 

Dr. Kamal Zahran pointed out that the conference included four scientific sessions that addressed the latest methods of diagnosis and surgical intervention, with a focus on reducing serious complications such as bleeding or hysterectomy. 

 

The conference also showcased the experiences of several Egyptian universities in this field.

Dr. El-Minshawy issues a decision to pay a reward to faculty members and their assistants at Assiut University in recognition of their efforts in the second semester

Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, issued a decision to disburse a financial reward for faculty members and their assistants in various colleges and departments of the University, in recognition of their sincere efforts during the second semester of the academic year 2024/2025, and their scientific and educational contribution to support the educational process and raising the efficiency of performance within the University.

 

The decision explained that the bonus is dispensed according to the following rules:

 

- Disbursing an amount of (2000) pounds, only two thousand pounds only, to all faculty members as well as to the incumbents of the positions of "Consultant – Consultant assistant – colleague".

 

- an amount of (1500) pounds, only one thousand and five hundred pounds only, to the teaching staff assistants from the teaching assistants and assistant teachers.

 

- The bonus is disbursed from Item (3) Type (21) "other bonuses", a discount on the University's resources.

 

- The bonus includes the duration of maternity leave.

 

- The bonus is paid only to those who are on duty at the head of work and is not paid to those who are on holidays other than maternity leave.

 

- The bonus is paid to the seconded gentlemen to Assiut University, and it is not paid to those who are seconded outside the University scarring or full secondment, while it is partially paid to the second in proportion to the actual presence.

 

- The bonus includes those who are at work during the period from March 1, 2025, to the date.

 

 

Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy stressed that this decision comes within the framework of the university administration's keenness to motivate the employees of the academic system and encourage them to continue to develop performance and achieve excellence in the educational and research process and community service.

 

Dr. El-Minshawy congratulated the University's family of faculty members, staff and students on the occasion of the approaching Eid al-Adha, wishing God to return this blessed occasion to Egypt and its people with good, Yemen and blessings.

 

  Mr. Shawkat Saber, secretary general of Assiut University, stated that based on the decision of the president of the University, the competent departments will begin to take the necessary measures to disburse the planned bonus, pointing out that the implementation of the decision will be followed up in full coordination with the concerned authorities within the university, under the supervision of Mr. Mohammed Amin, Director General of accounts and Budget, Mr. Walid Hosny, director of budget management, and Mr. Essam Kamal, director of financial at the University.

The University confirms that the recent circulation on social networking sites of a fake publication falsely attributed to Assiut University is a clear abuse of the University and Egyptian education.

 

The University warns against being led astray by such false claims, and affirms that it reserves its legal right to take the necessary measures against anyone who promotes such lies.

Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University and Commissioner for conducting the work of Assiut Al-Ahlia University, conducted a field tour to follow up on the progress of the second-semester exams for the academic year 2024/2025, which are held at the faculties of Finance and Administrative Sciences, Engineering and Applied Sciences at the University.

 

The tour is part of Dr. El-Minshawy's keenness to follow up on the regularity of the examination process in the field and ensure the availability of the appropriate atmosphere that enables students to perform their exams in a calm and organized environment.

 

  Dr. El-Minshawy was accompanied during the tour by: Dr. Nobi Mohammed Hassan, vice president of Assiut Al-Ahliya University for Academic Affairs, Dr. Tayseer Hassan Abdul Hamid, supervisor of the Faculty of Computers and Artificial Intelligence, Dr. Alaa Abdel Hafiz, supervisor of the Faculty of financial and Administrative Sciences, Dr. Khaled Salah, supervisor of the Faculty of engineering and Applied Sciences, Dr. Ahmed Allam, director of the program of financial and Administrative Sciences, and Mr. Mustafa Hassan, secretary general of Al-ahliya university.

Students of the fourth band at the Department of music education at the Faculty of specific education at Assiut University organize a concert

Under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, the students of the fourth grade at the Department of music education at the Faculty of specific education organized a concert, in the presence of Dr. Ahmed Abdul-Mawla, vice president of the University for education and Student Affairs, and under the supervision of Dr. Yasmin Al-kahki, dean of the Faculty, Dr. Muntasir Al-Qulalli, head of the department, Dr. Ali Mamdouh, Dr. Amani Jade khalafallah, faculty members of the Department.

 

Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy stressed that the concert organized by the students of the fourth band at the Department of music education embodies the University's interest in sponsoring student creativity and supporting young artistic talents, pointing out that the arts represent one of the main pillars in the formation of the student's personality, and enhancing his cultural and aesthetic awareness, stressing the University's commitment to providing a stimulating environment that contributes to the development of students ' abilities and pushing them towards excellence in various academic, artistic and societal aspects.

 

Dr. Ahmed Abdulmoula also pointed to the keenness of the university administration to provide all means of support and care to the Faculty of specific education and encourage artistic and musical activities that will enhance the artistic and cultural side and improve the public taste inside and outside the University and contribute in turn to the advancement of society, praising the diverse lyrical paragraphs of the concert, which reflects the college's clear effort to highlight the role of art and its message in society.

 

  Dr. Yasmin Al-kahki also explained that the concert included various singing segments for the project's course, through which students expressed their talents and skills that they had honed during the years of study.

Dr. El-Minshawy calls on Assiut University students to adopt the values of fair play and make it a lifestyle inside and outside the University

On the nineteenth of May every year, the world celebrates the World Fair Play Day, which was approved by the United Nations to emphasize the importance of sport as a soft force contributing to building societies and consolidating the principles of tolerance, respect, rejection of violence and discrimination.

 

On this occasion, Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, extended an invitation to the University's students to be ambassadors of noble sports values, and to make fair play an approach in their behavior inside and outside the university, to be role models embodying the true meaning of sports and teaching a culture of respect and tolerance in society. Dr. El-Minshawy decides to pay a minimum bonus (1000 pounds) to employees of Assiut University on the occasion of the Blessing Eid al-Adha

Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, decided to pay a bonus to employees in all sectors of the university, including installers, contractors, Temps, daily wage workers, daily employment, and training grants, with a minimum amount of (1000) pounds. This award comes on the occasion of the approaching Eid al-Adha, in recognition of the efforts of the staff and their giving and perseverance during the second semester of the academic year 2024/2025.

Dr. El-Minshawy receives the Assistant Secretary General of the Association of Islamic universities to discuss ways of cooperation in academic and research fields

Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, received today, Wednesday, May 21, at his office, Dr. Nurhan al-Sheikh, Professor of political science at the Faculty of Economics and political science at Cairo University, and assistant secretary general of the Association of Islamic universities for foreign relations, as part of her scientific visit to the university to participate in the discussion of two master's theses at the Faculty of Commerce.

 

The meeting was attended by Dr. Alaa Abdul Hafeez, dean of the Faculty of Commerce, Dr. Nesma Heshmat, vice dean of the Faculty of Commerce for graduate studies and research, Dr. Abdul Rahim Khalil, professor of political science at the Faculty of Commerce, Dr. Marwa Bakr, assistant professor of political science at the Faculty of Commerce, and Dr. Marwa Kadwani, political science teacher and rapporteur of the National Council for women in Assiut Governorate.

 

Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy stressed that Assiut University always welcomes cooperation with various regional and international bodies and organizations, to enhance the academic and Research status of the University at the Arab and Islamic levels. It is worth mentioning that Dr. Nurhan Sheikh is participating in the discussion of two master's theses, the first submitted by researcher Ahmed Abdullah Al-Enezi, entitled: "The political role of humanitarian aid in Kuwait's foreign policy since 2012 to 2023-an analytical study," and the discussion and governance committee includes Dr. Alaa Abdul Hafiz, professor of political science and dean of the Faculty of Commerce (supervisor), Dr. Abdul Rahim Khalil, professor of political science and former head of the Department of political science at the Faculty of Commerce (a supervisor).

Assiut University participates in the workshop "Russian-Egyptian Scientific Dialogue Amid a New International Dynamic" to enhance cooperation in the fields of Science, Technology, and innovation

Under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, a delegation of university professors participated in a workshop entitled "Russian-Egyptian scientific dialogue amid a new international dynamic", which was organized by the Academy of scientific research and Technology in cooperation with the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Primakov Russian Center for international cooperation, under the supervision of Dr. Gina Sami El-Feki, acting president of the Academy of scientific research and technology, at the Academy's headquarters. 

 

   Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy stressed that the University's participation in the workshop "Russian-Egyptian Scientific Dialogue amid a New International Dynamic" comes within the framework of the University's keenness to strengthen international cooperation in the fields of scientific research, technology, and innovation, especially with countries with strategic relations with Russia.

 

The president of Assiut University added that this participation reflects the University's commitment to be an active part in global scientific dialogues, especially in light of Egypt's and Russia's membership in the BRICS+ group, pointing out that the workshop represents an important opportunity to explore new cooperation mechanisms, areas of joint financing, and meet challenges in vital sectors such as energy, medicine, agriculture, computer science, and water, in a way that serves sustainable development and keeps pace with the accelerating international changes.

 

   The workshop aimed at enhancing scientific and technological cooperation between Egypt and Russia, especially in light of their membership in the BRICS+ group, where they discussed ways to develop cooperation mechanisms, explore available funding opportunities, and identify strategic priorities in the fields of science, technology, research, and innovation. She also addressed the most important challenges facing this cooperation in vital sectors such as energy, medicine, computer science, agriculture, and Water Research.

 

The University delegation participating in the workshop included: Dr. Adel Abdo Hussein, dean of the Faculty of sugar industry technology and integrated industries, Dr. Atef Al-Naqib, undersecretary of the Institute of Materials Science and Nanotechnology, coordinator of relations between Assiut University and Russian universities, coordinator of Assiut University in the BRICS Universities Network, and Dr. Saleh Mahmoud Ismail, head of the Land Department at the Faculty of Agriculture. 

 

The workshop activities included the participation of (25) a scientist and researchers from experts and faculty members from Egyptian and Russian institutions and universities. It included two main sessions, the first dealt with the" Russian - Egyptian scientific dialogue, strengthening cooperation in the field of medicine (pharmaceutical industries) and energy", and the second discussed the"Russian-Egyptian scientific dialogue, strengthening cooperation in Computer Science (digital technologies) and Water Research".

 

During the workshop, Dr. Adel Abdo presented the possible aspects of cooperation between the two sides in the fields of Applied Research, especially in the interdisciplinarity characterized by the Faculty of sugar industry technology and integrated industries. He pointed to the possibility of cooperation in conducting research necessary to produce industries that can be exported abroad or used inside Egypt.

 

Dr. Atef Al-Naqib spoke about the importance of joint graduate programs, such as the Master of Materials Science and Nanotechnology, as well as the exchange of faculty members in the form of short scientific missions, and hosting young researchers at Russian universities. 

 

Dr. Saleh Mahmoud Ismail discussed several topics, including the efficiency of water use in the agricultural sector, and cooperation in the field of smart systems that are used in various areas in the desert of Egypt.

 

For his side, the Russian side welcomed the proposals made by the Assiut University delegation, stressing the importance of continuing this constructive scientific dialogue. He also pledged to organize more meetings and joint events, both in Egypt and Russia, in addition to holding virtual meetings between the two sides to discuss areas of cooperation and develop a clear strategy to strengthen it, calling on Egyptian and Russian universities to expand the circle of effective and fruitful participation in this framework.

The start of the graduate studies exams at the Institute of Molecular Biology Research and studies at Assiut University for the second semester of the academic year 2024/2025

The second-semester exams at the Institute of Molecular Biology Research and studies at Assiut University started on Thursday, May 22, 2025, and are scheduled to continue until Tuesday, June 3, 2025, under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, and the supervision of Dr. Jamal Badr, vice president for graduate studies and research, and with the follow-up from the Institute's Management represented by Dr. Amr Abdel Fattah, dean of the Institute, and Dr. Alaeddin Hamed, undersecretary of the Institute for graduate studies and research.

 

Dr. El-Minshawy explained that the Institute of Molecular Biology Research and Studies is one of the strengths of the university, being the first Research Institute at the level of Egyptian universities in this specific specialization, and represents a practical model of the University's strategy aimed at supporting the conduct of Inter-and Applied Studies, which comes in light of the University's keenness to implement the objectives of the national strategy for higher education and scientific research according to the vision of Egypt 2030.

 

Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of the University, stressed the regularity of examinations for graduate studies at various stages (Diploma – Master – doctorate), with full compliance with the regulations governing the examination process, pointing out that the university follows the progress of examinations in its various colleges and institutes, keen to provide a safe and organized environment that contributes to the performance of students optimally.

 

He added that the university administration was keen to provide all means of comfort and support within the committees, including administrative and medical equipment, to ensure the proper conduct of exams, stressing that graduate students represent a fundamental pillar of scientific research, which the University puts at the forefront of its priorities in support of innovation and excellence.

 

In this context, Dr. Jamal Badr conducted an inspection tour to follow up on the work of the exams at the institute, where he was assured of the availability of the appropriate atmosphere within the committees, the regularity of attendance, and the extent of adherence to the procedures organized for the exams, according to the standards set by the university to ensure the discipline of the examination process.

 

During the tour, the vice-president of the university was accompanied by Dr. Amr Mohammed Abdel Fattah, dean of the Institute, Dr. Alaeddin Hamid Hassan, the Institute's undersecretary for graduate studies and research, and a number of faculty members supervising the exams.

 

For his side, Dr. Amr Mohamed Abdel Fattah explained that the exams are conducted in an atmosphere of calm and discipline, and are performed this year by 33 students at the master's Level, 6 students at the doctoral level, and 4 students at the diploma level, stressing the need to adhere to academic standards in the preparation of exams, taking into account the specifications of the exam paper, in addition to organizing committees and ensuring the accurate and responsible work of all those responsible for the exam process.
