Assiut University launches the podcast "Assiut University News" in English During the period  30 May to 5June 2025. 

Under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, the university launched a new podcast, broadcast in English, with the aim of enhancing communication with the academic community at the local and international levels, during the period 
 30 May to 5 June 2025. 

The podcast aims to highlight the most prominent university activities and events, in addition to reviewing the latest research and academic achievements, reflecting the leading position occupied by Assiut University in various scientific and cultural fields

 

11 years of achievements under the reign of His Excellency President Sisi.. Dr. El-Minshawi confirms Assiut University's commitment to the national development process

Today, Saturday marks the eleventh anniversary of the assumption of power by His Excellency President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi on June 8, 2014, an occasion that represents a milestone in the modern history of Egypt, and a real start to a national march towards comprehensive development and building a new republic.

On this national occasion, Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, expressed his sincere congratulations to His Excellency the president, praising the unprecedented achievements achieved over the past years in various fields, thanks to the wise leadership and strategic vision that laid the foundations of the New Republic and strengthened the position of the Egyptian state regionally and internationally.

Dr. El-Minshawy stressed that the past eleven years have witnessed transformations in multiple sectors, primarily higher education, health, infrastructure, and social protection, within the framework of a clear vision based on investing in the Egyptian human being and improving the quality of his life.

The president of Assiut University also praised the unprecedented boom witnessed by the higher education sector, represented by the expansion of the establishment of private universities, where the number reached 32 universities, after the issuance of Republican decisions to establish 12 new universities, thus increasing the number of universities nationwide from only 50 universities in 2014 to 128 universities at the present time, which clearly reflects the amount of support and attention paid by the political leadership to this vital sector.

Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy affirmed the renewed commitment of Assiut University to continue its career in the service of national development, and the permanent upgrading of its academic, medical, research and community system, stressing its role as an effective national partner in implementing the vision of the Egyptian state and achieving the goals of the New Republic.

Assiut University Faculty members Development Center announces digital transformation courses for graduate students

The faculty members and Leadership Development Center at Assiut University, under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of the University, announces the launch of the "digital transformation for graduate students" courses, under the supervision of Dr. Jaber Ahmed Mujahid, director of the center.

The training program is held from 15 to 30 June. Registration is available by going to the center's headquarters in the administrative building of the University, ground floor, suite (C).

With pride and pride, Professor Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, sent his congratulations and best wishes to His Excellency President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, president of the Republic, on the occasion of the Blessed Eid al-Adha.

In his Telegram, Dr. El-Minshawy expressed his sincere prayer that God will return this blessed occasion to His Excellency the President with good health and well-being, to our dear Egypt with more progress and prosperity, and to the Islamic nation with goodness, Yemen, and peace.

The president of the University stressed that Assiut University, its leadership, and its members feel their national responsibility and continue to play their role in supporting the comprehensive development process led by His Excellency the President of the Republic of Egyptians. They work sincerely under the banner of the New Republic, with a national vision aimed at building human beings and achieving the aspirations of the Egyptian people in a prosperous and secure future.

Dr. El-Minshawy concluded his congratulation by praying that God preserve Egypt and perpetuate the blessing of security and stability under the wise leadership of His Excellency the president, and every year His Excellency is well, and our dear Egypt is in progress and peace.

President of Assiut University Meets Young Doctors at the Trauma Hospital and Announces Measures to Improve the Work and Training Environment

In a cordial and open meeting, Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, President of Assiut University, held a session on Wednesday morning with young doctors at the University Trauma and Emergency Hospital. The purpose of the meeting was to listen to their views and concerns, and to discuss ways to enhance their work and training environment—part of the university’s ongoing commitment to supporting its young medical professionals and improving the quality of healthcare services provided to patients.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Alaa Attia, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the Board of Assiut University Hospitals; Dr. Mohamed Abdel Hamid, Director of the Trauma and Emergency Hospital; as well as several faculty members and hospital doctors.

At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. El-Minshawy affirmed that young doctors are a top priority for the university, recognizing their vital role in the healthcare system. He emphasized the university administration’s keenness to maintain direct and continuous communication with medical teams and to foster a transparent environment where their voices are heard.

During his speech, the university president was keen to reassure the young doctors, saying: "You are in our hearts. Every challenge you face is our responsibility, we are with you step by step," he said, adding: "Every young doctor is a leader in his field, and we must guarantee you fair working conditions, good training and real development opportunities."

In this context, he stressed that the university spares no effort in providing a fair and motivating work environment for all doctors. He also confirmed that efforts are ongoing to develop infrastructure and medical equipment, while empowering young professionals as the cornerstone of the future healthcare sector.

During the meeting, the university president directed a package of systematic measures aimed at improving the work environment inside the Trauma and Emergency Hospital, including developing work systems, providing appropriate equipment, and balancing the distribution of workloads.
He also emphasized the need to provide a sufficient number of teaching assistants and demonstrators to alleviate the pressure on young doctors, ensuring both professional efficiency and smooth delivery of medical services to patients.

Within the framework of improving the quality of medical training and education,  Dr. El-Minshawy stressed the importance of direct supervision by faculty members on young doctors, whether during the educational process or during the performance of daily therapeutic tasks, stressing that this type of guidance not only enhances the level of experience gained, but also contributes to providing the necessary psychological support to young doctors, gives them confidence in facing professional challenges, and helps them develop their performance in a safe and stimulating educational environment based on continuous guidance and rational scientific accompaniment.

For their part, the young doctors participating in the meeting expressed their gratitude and appreciation for this sincere space of dialog, which was made available to them by the university president and hospital leaders, pointing out that this interaction reflects the real interest of the university administration in improving their professional and educational conditions, and represents a great moral boost for them to continue to perform their mission with dedication and responsibility.

Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, received several church leaders in Assiut Governorate yesterday evening, Tuesday, June 3, 2025, in the presence of several university leaders, to offer congratulations on the occasion of the Blessed Eid al-Adha. The meeting embodied the spirit of love and brotherhood characterized by Egyptian society and reflected the depth of national ties that unite the Sons of the same Homeland.

During the meeting, Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy expressed his great happiness with this visit, stressing that Egypt, with the cohesion of its Muslim and Christian children, offers a unique model of coexistence and Brotherhood, adding: "We live together in one homeland united by love and mutual respect, and such visits reflect the civilized face of Egypt, based on tolerance and cooperation for the uplift of this great homeland."

The rector of the University expressed his thanks and appreciation to the church leaders, stressing that these congratulations reflect sincere feelings and firm national unity, one of the pillars of Egypt's stability and social peace.

  Dr. El-Minshawy continued his speech, stressing: "We thank God for the blessing of security and stability, which we enjoy thanks to the wise leadership of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, a statesman who sees the future and precedes him with steps to protect his homeland and his people. He pointed out that the conscious leadership of President Sisi represents a source of reassurance and confidence for all Egyptians, and is a solid foundation for building the New Republic and achieving the aspirations of the homeland in various fields.

  Dr. El-Minshawy extended his sincere thanks and appreciation to the Coptic Orthodox Church, represented by His Eminence Anba Yoannes, Bishop of Assiut, and its affiliates, praising the national role played by the church and its keenness to strengthen bonds of love and communication with various state institutions, headed by Assiut University, stressing that the Orthodox Church is a genuine national partner in the process of construction and development.

  The president of Assiut University also extended special thanks to the Coptic Catholic Archdiocese, headed by His Eminence, Bishop Daniel Lotfi, Bishop of Catholics in Assiut, and his accompanying delegation, praising their constant keenness on the University's participation in various events, considering this a sincere expression of the spirit of love and national unity.

Dr. El-Minshawy appreciated the first evangelical church, and thanked Pastor Bassem Adly, the pastor of the church, in appreciation of his kind initiative, which reflects the depth of the relationship between the church and the University, and highlights the cohesive national fabric characterized by Assiut Governorate.

In a related context, Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy expressed his thanks and appreciation to the second evangelical church, represented by Pastor Rafik Thabet, pastor of the church, praising their important societal role in supporting Love and tolerance, and their keenness to communicate constructively with various state institutions, headed by Assiut University.

The rector expressed his gratitude to all the fathers, priests, and church representatives who were keen to participate in this blessed meeting, stressing that their presence reflects a noble national spirit and contributes to the consolidation of the values of citizenship and coexistence. He added that Assiut University will always remain a platform for dialogue and an open house that embraces all compatriots without any discrimination.

From their side, the pastors and church leaders expressed their happiness to meet Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, and his keenness to receive them and participate in various events, praising the leading role played by Assiut University as a major scientific and cultural beacon in Upper Egypt. The president of Assiut University receives the president of the Assiut Court of Appeal to discuss ways of cooperation in the academic and legal fields

Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, received on Tuesday, June 3, a high-level delegation from the Assiut Court of Appeal, headed by Chancellor Ahmed Abdel Aziz, president of the Assiut Court of appeal, within the framework of enhancing joint cooperation between the University and the judicial institution in a number of areas of common interest.

The judicial delegation included advisor Mahmoud Salama, head of the appeal and a member of the Technical Office, Advisor Mohamed Ahmed Abdel Aziz, head of the appeal and a member of the technical office, and advisor Mohamed Serag, head of the appeal and a member of the Technical Office of the Assiut Court of Appeal.

The delegation was received by Dr. Jamal Badr, vice president of the University for Graduate Studies and Research Affairs, Dr. Doib Saber, dean of the Faculty of law and legal adviser to the president of the University, Dr. Mohammed Adawi, advisor to the president of the University for alumni affairs, entrepreneurship and innovation, and vice dean of the Faculty of Commerce for education and student affairs.

At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy expressed his great welcome to the judicial delegation, stressing Assiut University's pride in the fruitful relations it has with state institutions, especially the judiciary, because of its high national value and a key role in consolidating the principles of justice and the rule of law. He also stressed the University's keenness to build bridges of knowledge and professional cooperation with all state institutions and open new horizons for integration in the fields of Education, Legal Awareness, and exchange of experiences.

  Dr. El-Minshawy stressed that Assiut University has a strong academic and legal base through the Faculty of Law, which is one of the ancient faculties of the University and actively contributes to the preparation of legal cadres at a high level of competence and judicial and legislative awareness. He pointed to the University's readiness to organize scientific and legal events that serve both sides.

The president of the University added that this cooperation comes within the framework of Assiut University's vision to enhance its role as a leading educational institution that keeps pace with the needs of society and provides its expertise to serve various sectors, praising the great role played by the judiciary in safeguarding rights and maintaining stability.

For his side, Chancellor Ahmed Abdel Aziz expressed his deep appreciation to Assiut University and its distinguished role in supporting the educational and research system in Upper Egypt, stressing the importance of building strong institutional partnerships between the judicial and academic authorities to exchange experiences and enhance the culture of law for future generations, and developing legal tools by the latest scientific and legislative developments.

At the end of the meeting, commemorative shields were exchanged between Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy and consultant Ahmed Abdul Aziz, expressing the spirit of cooperation and mutual appreciation between the two institutions, and looking forward to more joint work in the future.

Dr. El-Minshawy witnesses the opening of new expansion and construction works at the Faculty of Nursing at Assiut University for 18 million and700 thousand pounds

- President of the University: the new laboratories are a qualitative leap in the development of training and clinical evaluation

  Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, opened on Tuesday morning, June, several new development and construction work at the Faculty of Nursing, the total cost of which amounted to about 18 million and 700 thousand pounds. The openings included the clinical examination laboratory (uski), the virtual education laboratory (skills), the five-a-side football stadium after its development, as well as the installation of two new elevators in the laboratory and administration buildings.

The opening ceremony was attended by Dr. Ahmed Abdulmoula, vice president of the University for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Jamal Badr, vice president of the University for Graduate Studies and Research, Dr. Samah Abdullah, dean of the College of Nursing, Dr. Fatima Rushdi, vice dean of the college for education and Student Affairs, Dr. Nahed Shawkat, vice dean of the college for community service and Environmental Development, Dr. Ikram Ibrahim, vice dean of the college for graduate studies and research, Dr. Shehata the secretary of the college, along with several department heads, faculty and staff, engineers and supervisors of the engineering construction department at the University.

The president of the University witnessed the opening of the clinical examination laboratory (uski), which was established for 10 million pounds, to conduct clinical tests for students of final teams in various nursing specialties. The laboratory includes 6 training rooms, each of which contains a bed and a mannequin, in addition to a central control room for monitoring students ' performance, digital monitors, air conditioners, as well as advanced medical equipment for measuring vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature, to enhance the efficiency of clinical assessment and simulate a realistic work environment.

Dr. El-Minshawy also opened the virtual education laboratory (skills), which was equipped for 5 million pounds, to train students in basic nursing skills using modern models and equipment that simulate real work environments. The laboratory includes a teaching room with interactive screens, three main training rooms each with a bed and a Manikan, a trolley for spare tools, and a set of advanced medical devices and instruments. The laboratory provides students with practical training on various procedures, such as intravenous injections, different stages of childbirth, catheter installation, and laryngeal incision, which contributes to the development of their skills and qualification for the labor market.

The development works included the college's five-a-side football stadium, where the development works were carried out according to international specifications, with an area of 22×42 meters. The renovations included the installation of artificial grass, and silk nets to cover the walls and ceilings, in addition to providing it with strong lighting, for one million and 200 thousand pounds. The development of the stadium comes within the framework of supporting student activities, promoting sports participation, and providing an integrated educational environment that encourages sports practice and building a team spirit.

Dr. El-Minshawy also opened two new elevators, one in the laboratory building and the other in the administrative building, at a total cost of 2 million pounds, to improve the infrastructure and facilitate movement between different floors to serve faculty members, staff, and students, and contribute to reducing congestion inside the college buildings.

Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy stressed that the achievements achieved at the Faculty of Nursing reflect the University's commitment to support and develop its educational structure, and its keenness to keep abreast of developments in training and evaluation systems, pointing out that the "AL-uski" and"skills" laboratories represent a distinctive quality addition and a key starting point in the development of the evaluation and clinical training system, through a realistic simulation environment that allows students to learn through experience, and acquire the skills and experiences necessary to practice nursing efficiently. The president of the university also appreciated the humanitarian mission of the College in establishing the professional values and ethics necessary to provide comprehensive health care to patients.

The president of the University concluded the opening by congratulating the family of the College of Nursing on the development projects achieved, stressing that these qualitative additions represent a real investment in the future of the college and its students, and contribute to improving the efficiency and sustainability of the infrastructure, in a way that enhances the educational and administrative environment within the college, and in line with the University's strategy to provide high-quality education, meet the needs of students, and develop university services comprehensively.

For her side, Dr. Samah Abdullah, dean of the College, stressed that the new laboratories are an unprecedented leap in the quality of practical training and clinical evaluation, and contribute to the graduation of highly qualified nursing cadres capable of meeting the requirements of the local and regional labor market. She added that the college continues to adopt the latest means and technologies in the field of nursing education, to raise the quality of academic outputs and contribute to improving the level of services provided within the college.
