The Council of Assiut University held its regular meeting, chaired by Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of the University, on Wednesday evening, May 28, in the presence of the president of the university, deans of colleges, the secretary general of the University, and advisers to the president of the university, to discuss several topics related to the educational, research, and service process.

The president of Assiut University began the session by congratulating His Excellency President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, president of the Republic, on the occasion of the approaching Eid al-Adha, praying to God to restore him to his sovereignty and the noble people of Egypt with good and peace, congratulating also His Excellency the prime minister, all executive leaders, and the Assiut University family of faculty, staff, and students.

  The president of the university also praised the regular conduct of the end-of-year exams, pointing to his daily follow-up of the exams in coordination with the education and student affairs sector, stressing that they are conducted in a calm and disciplined atmosphere, without monitoring any significant obstacles, which reflects the efficiency of the organization and the accuracy of the measures taken by the university to ensure the optimal conduct of the exam process.

Dr. El-Minshawy congratulated all faculties of the University near the end of the academic year, pointing out that the university is preparing for a special summer full of cultural, scientific, sports, and social activities, as work is currently underway to equip the Olympic village to receive events and participants from inside and outside the University

  The president of Assiut University stressed that real education is not measured by what is written on the meeting boards or presented in the plans, but is measured by what is accomplished inside the halls and stands, where students ' awareness is formed and their knowledge and skills are refined, pointing to the University's keenness to provide an integrated educational environment that meets the aspirations of students and their families and to emphasize continued support for every step that would enhance the University's educational mission.

Dr. El-Minshawy extended his sincere thanks and appreciation to the University's employees for their sincere efforts during the past period, which contributed directly to consolidating a positive mental image of Assiut University as a distinguished academic edifice and a reliable national House of expertise, an image that we are keen to strengthen in every possible way, praying to God to reconcile everyone for the good of the University and the homeland and to perpetuate the blessing of security, stability and progress on Egypt.

  Dr. El-Minshawy reviewed the most prominent activities and events witnessed in May 2025, and the most prominent University's participation in the meeting of the education and scientific research committee in the House of Representatives to discuss the draft budget of Assiut University for the academic year 2025/2026. The university also participated in another session held by the same committee, chaired by Dr. Sami Hashem, to discuss mechanisms for supporting and developing University Hospitals.

During the session, Dr. El-Minshawy reviewed a number of important axes that contribute to the development of University Hospitals, stressing the importance of increasing the financial allocations, so that they can face the increasing challenges and ensure the continuity of providing their services efficiently and in high quality.

  The month of May also witnessed the visit of several prominent personalities to Assiut University, including Dr. Maggie Nassif, executive director of the Fulbright Commission, in the framework of supporting academic cooperation and scientific exchange. The university also received the president of the Mediterranean Society for Precision Intervention in Urological Oncology Surgeries and the deputy chairman of the Administrative Prosecution Authority to discuss mechanisms to enhance cooperation. The visits also included the assistant secretary general of the Association of Islamic Universities, which aimed to strengthen cooperation in academic and research fields.

The council also appreciated the University's outstanding achievements during the recent period, most notably winning 11 awards at the 13th Idea Festival in the fields of art, culture, and scientific innovation, in addition to the fact that the surgical pathology laboratory at Assiut University Hospitals received accreditation from the National Accreditation Council (IAC), which is a certificate of confidence in the quality and efficiency of the laboratory services provided.

 The university also witnessed intensive artistic and academic activity, including the organization of several exhibitions and forums, most notably the art exhibition for students of the Faculty of Specific Education to choose the best design and brand for outlets in the governorate, the second forum of the Faculty of education for early childhood to qualify teachers of children with special needs and Montessori curriculum, as well as the exhibition of graduation projects of students of the Faculty of computers and Information Technology in cooperation with the Institute of information technology within the activities of the employment and self-employment forum, in addition to the annual art exhibition for students of the Departments of decoration and architecture, and the art exhibition "from the train window" at the Faculty of Fine Arts.

The council agreed to determine the percentage of reducing the fees allocated for higher studies by (25%) for officers of the armed forces, and(50%) for operational casualties from the armed forces and families of martyrs from the Armed Forces of the first degree.

The council also approved the establishment of a professional diploma in green technology and environmental sustainability at the Faculty of Science at the University.

The council also approved the exception of expatriate students at the Faculty of Specific Education from the requirement of literacy of two adults as one of the graduation requirements, based on the letter of the General Authority for Adult Education, which explained that the authority's database is limited to registering the national numbers of Egyptian citizens only, which makes it impossible to register the data of expatriate students. The council decided to generalize this exception to all faculties and institutes of the University.

  The Assiut University Council approved the proposed controls for establishing one-person limited liability companies fully owned by the University, to manage and invest its resources within a regulated legal framework. The council also approved the payment of a material fee for lawyers assigned to the actual presence in the examination committees at the colleges and institutes of the University, equivalent to what is paid to observers and observers. In another context, the council approved a financial clearing procedure between the public university and Assiut Al-Ahlia University, according to which the financial dues of the private university are settled by deducting them from the 25% due to them at the public university, in exchange for the use of laboratories, workshops, classrooms, and exams.

  Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, inaugurated this morning, Wednesday, May 28, the development of the covered Hall No. 1 in the Olympic Village at the university campus, within the framework of the University's plan to develop and modernize its sports facilities and provide an attractive and supportive university environment for practicing diverse student activities.

The opening ceremony was attended by Dr. Ahmed Abdulmoula, vice president of the University for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Ahmed Salah Qora'a, professor at the Faculty of Physical Education and general supervisor of the Olympic Village, Mr. Shawkat Saber Ali, secretary general of the University, Dr. Haitham Ibrahim Hassan, director general of the General Administration of Youth Welfare, Dr. Mohammed Mustafa Ismail, responsible for the covered hall sector No. 1, as well as several department managers and employees of the General Administration of Youth Welfare, and employees of the Olympic Village.

  The development works included the renovation of the playgrounds ' floors and play nets for volleyball, basketball, and handball, in addition to the modernization of the electricity circuits and several administrative offices of the General Department of Youth Welfare, including the Office of the Director general, the tourist activation office, the planning and follow-up office, the Student Activities club administration office, the sports injuries and First Aid Unit office, and the Administrative Affairs Office

  The works also included renovation of the art theater in terms of decoration and lighting, modernizing restrooms, and creating new units.

Dr. Al-manshawi stressed that the development of the covered hall in the Olympic Village embodies the University's commitment to providing an integrated environment that supports excellence and creativity in various fields, foremost of which are sports activities, which the University attaches special importance to its role in building a person and developing his physical and psychological abilities. He added that the Olympic Village not only serves the University's students, faculty, and staff, but is a developed sports center that can contribute to serving the local community and organizing regional sports events, reflecting the leading role of the University in Upper Egypt, and in line with national trends in supporting youth and upgrading sports infrastructure.

  The president of Assiut University praised the great support of the Egyptian state for sports activities, praising the initiative of President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi "Sport is National Security", which reflects the awareness of the political leadership of the importance of sport in human building and Community Development.

  For his side, Dr. Ahmed Abdulmoula stated that Assiut University is moving steadily towards achieving the highest quality rates in its educational and student services, pointing out that the Olympic Village represents a fundamental pillar in the University's sports structure, and is one of the most important facilities supporting the physical and psychological health of students.

 In the same context, Dr. Ahmed Salah Qora’a explained that the covered hall has become fully equipped to receive various group sports activities, such as basketball, handball, and volleyball, as well as individual activities such as karate and gymnastics, enhancing the village's ability to serve various categories and sports activities at the University.

The opening ceremony included a special sports presentation for the gymnastics academy at the Olympic Village, Presented by the winning team of several tournaments at the level of the Republic, under the supervision of Dr. Marwa Ramadan Abdulkader, professor at the Faculty of Physical Education.

Finally, Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy conducted an inspection tour to follow up on the maintenance and renovation works of the sports stadium playground, which were carried out using the "patching" (Grafting) technique. The president of the University directed to quick completion of the renovation of the track and swimming pool, expand the construction of new facilities that meet the needs of the Olympic Village, and support the sports activity at the University.

Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University and Commissioner for conducting the work of Assiut National University, participated on Tuesday, May 2025, in the meeting of the Council of Private Universities, which was chaired by Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of higher education and scientific research, at the ministry's headquarters in the new administrative capital, in the presence of Dr. Maher Mesbah, Secretary of the Council, Dr. Mustafa Refaat, Secretary of the Supreme Council of Universities, Dr. Abdul Wahab Ezzat, Secretary of the Council of National universities, and several university presidents, boards of trustees and ministry leaders.

 

Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy praised the efforts of the Ministry of Higher Education and scientific research in supporting the expansion of the establishment of private universities, stressing that the announcement of the establishment of 12 new National universities embodies the state's vision to develop higher education and expand its opportunities in line with the needs of the labor market and the requirements of sustainable development, explaining that private universities offer modern interface programs and a developed educational environment that contribute to the preparation of cadres capable of innovation and competition.

 

During the meeting, Dr. Ayman Ashour announced the issuance of Republican decisions to establish 12 new National universities, namely: Suez National University, Damanhour National University, Cairo National University, Ain Shams National University, Sohag National University, Kafr El Sheikh National University, New Valley National University, Fayoum National university, Tanta National university, Luxor National university, Damietta National university and Sadat City National university.

 

Dr. Maher Mesbah pointed out that these universities offer modern study programs that keep pace with the labor market's requirements. They are considered fourth-generation non-profit universities, and revenues are reinvested in the development of their infrastructure, which contributes to improving the quality of education and qualifying graduates.

 

Dr. Adel Abdul Ghaffar, media advisor and official spokesman of the ministry, also stated that the new universities have met their material and human resources to start studying in the academic year 2025/2026, bringing the number of private universities to 32, and the total number of universities in Egypt to 128, up from only 50 universities in 2014, in a clear indication of the growing investments in the higher education sector.

On the anniversary of the ‏Retrieval of El Arish, Dr. El-Minshawy confirms the role of Assiut University in national education and consolidates the values of loyalty and belonging among students

The Innovation Projects Unit at Assiut University holds a meeting of the technical committee to follow up on the innovative and creative work of students

Assiut University witnessed, on Monday, May 26, a meeting of the technical committee of the Innovative Projects Unit held to discuss the innovative and creative works of students, under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of the University, and the supervision of Dr. Ahmed Abdul-Mawla, vice-president of the University for education and student affairs, in the presence of Dr. Yasmin Al-kahki, dean of the Faculty of specific education and chairman of the committee, and Miss. The meeting also discussed the establishment of an electronic page under the supervision of the Innovative Projects Unit and the Information Systems Center at the university, to showcase and Market students ' products, where the discussion dealt with financial and legal aspects and mechanisms for implementing those proposals.

 

The meeting was attended by Dr. Mohammed Abdul Hakim, vice dean of the College of Fine Arts for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Haitham Ibrahim, Director General of the General Administration of Student Welfare, Mr. Ihab Abdul Hamid, head of the small enterprises authority in Assiut, Mr. Hisham Baghdadi from the General Administration of Legal Affairs, Mr. Mohammed Bayoumi from financial affairs, Mr. Ihab Atman from the internal audit and governance department, as well as Mr. Hatem Khudair, director general of the central administration for Student Affairs.

 

The committee also includes Dr. Jamal Abdul Nasser Ahmed, general supervisor of the Innovative Projects Unit, Dr. Ali Hussein, director of the Management Information Systems unit, Dr. Mohammed Abdul Alim, legal member of the unit, and engineer Mohammed Hussein, executive supervisor of the unit.

Dr. El-Minshawy Congratulates the Egyptian Ambulance Authority on Its 123rd Anniversary: An Honorable Model of Humanitarian Service and Dedication to Saving Lives

On this cherished occasion, as we celebrate the 123rd anniversary of the establishment of the Egyptian Ambulance Service, I am pleased to extend my sincere congratulations and appreciation to all employees of the Egyptian Ambulance Authority, leaders and crews, for their honorable example of humanitarian giving and dedication to saving lives, especially in the most difficult and critical moments.

Throughout its long and distinguished history, the Ambulance Authority has proven to be a cornerstone of the national healthcare system and an indispensable pillar in times of crisis and emergency. It has been an active partner in supporting national efforts, whether in response to natural disasters or during major national events witnessed by the Egyptian state.

As we follow today the tangible achievements, whether through the expansion and launch of new services such as the maritime ambulance and the mobile applications CAD and “Asaafny”, we are truly witnessing an unprecedented phase of modernization and development that reflects the political leadership's keen interest in public health and rapid response to emergencies.

At Assiut University, as part of our academic and community role, we express our pride in this national institution and affirm our continued commitment to collaboration with the Egyptian Ambulance Authority in the fields of training, education, and scientific research. This partnership contributes to the preparation of qualified personnel to support this vital sector.
