Understanding inclusion from the inside out: How inclusive education fulfilment, perceptions and agency shape teacher competence

Research Abstract
The present study aimed to illustrate the anatomical, histological and histochemical structure of the two orbital glands of the little owl, Athene noctua with revealing their role in the vision. In little owl, the size of lacrimal gland appears smaller than that of the Harderian gland. The Harderian gland of the little owl is flat and looks like teardrop in shape with pink color and located between the ventralis oblique muscle and pyramidalis muscle. While, the lacrimal gland is cylindrical, compressed in the dorsal-ventral direction and is located on the dorsal edge of the orbit within a narrow elongated fossa. Both glands are compound tubuloalveolar type. The acini of Harderian gland are lined by cuboidal glandular cells whereas the lacrimal gland acini are lined by columnar cells. The Harderian gland in the little owl is classified as a type I. The Harderian gland and lacrimal glands of the little owl contain neutral and acid mucosubstances

Exploring Healthy Behaviours of female adolescents with intellectual disability using teachers’ report data

Research Abstract

Female adolescents with intellectual disabilities (ID) often face poorer general health due to limitations in adaptive behavior. This study aimed to explore health behaviors in female adolescents with ID and assess the impact of disability severity on their health awareness. A total of 406 female adolescents were evaluated using the Health Awareness Questionnaire. The results revealed significant differences in teachers’ ratings of the participants’ health behaviors. The adolescents with ID were reported to exhibit moderate levels of nutrition, reproductive health, and digital health behaviors, while demonstrating a high level of physical fitness. Additionally, analyses of the severity of disability highlighted notable differences in health behaviors across the participants. These findings suggest that tailored interventions, addressing specific health areas such as nutrition, reproductive health, and digital behavior, could enhance the overall health and well-being of female adolescents with ID. The study provides essential data for planning individualized health interventions aimed at improving the quality of life for this vulnerable group.
