A student team at Assiut University participates in the International Formula Student Competition for the design and manufacture of cars in England

Assiut University President, Prof. Dr.Tarek El-Gammal, affirmed the university's keenness to support its creative students and provide them with the opportunity to achieve more discrimination and creativity, as part of the work to graduate students with a high degree of efficiency and skill in line with the specifications of the local and global labor market in the era of technological and scientific revolution and modern research. In a related context, Dr. Shehata Gharib, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, announced that a student team at Assiut University "Assiut Motorsport" has been qualified to participate in the international competition ‘Formula Student’ in England organized by SAE International Motors to become the first team at the level of Egypt. Prof. Gharib praised the quality of Assiut University students in terms of the scientific material provided to them in addition to an integrated team of distinguished faculty members of prestigious status in various scientific disciplines, as well as lecture halls and grades, laboratories and educational means at the highest level, calling on members of the participating team to compete strongly in Competition to achieve advanced centers and raise the name of Egypt and Assiut University.

Assiut University announces the launch of 14 special programs in 8 theoretical and practical faculties to meet the new needs of the labor market

The President of Assiut University announced that the new academic year 2019/2020 will witness the addition of two new programs in the Faculty of Computer Science and Information: Bioinformatics and Software Engineering to keep pace with the digital, technological and ongoing revolution in that specialization. Prof. Dr. Shehata Gharib, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, pointed out that the study is to be completed in the special programs offered by Assiut University in the previous years, which includes the English Study Program at the Faculty of Commerce, and the clinical pharmacy program at the Faculty of Pharmacy. There is also a variety of programs at the Faculty of Engineering ranging from mechatronics and robotics to construction engineering, project management and interior and architectural design. The university also offers two special programs at the Faculty of Science (Petroleum Geology and Applied Chemistry), an English Program at the Faculty of Law, and English Translation Program at the Faculty of Arts. The university witnessed last year the launching of the study with three special programs at the Faculty of Education: one for the preparation of an international science teacher and another for mathematics, as well as for the preparation of an international English language teacher.

Assiut University concludes a memorandum of scientific and cultural cooperation with the University of Maiduguri, Nigeria

Assiut University President, Prof.Dr. Tarek El-Gamal, affirmed that the university administration is keen to deepen cooperation between the university and other universities and educational institutions in African countries in all fields. He pointed out that this comes through the university administration seeking to establish educational ties and joint research projects between it and many African universities. It would contribute to the development of plans and solutions to meet the current challenges that beset the African peoples. This came in conjunction with the approval of the University Council to conclude a memorandum of understanding for cultural and scientific cooperation between the universities of Assiut and Maiduguri, Nigeria. In this regard, Dr. Ahmed Al-Minshawi, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, said that the memorandum is an affirmation of the two universities' keenness to develop scientific and cultural cooperation between them in order to achieve the common advantages of the two universities.

Assiut University announces the selection of Prime Minister Hisham Mokhtar as the first member of the High Committee for the Transplantation of Human Organs at Upper Egypt Universities

Assiut University President, Prof.Dr. Tarek El-Gammal, revealed the decision of Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly to reconstitute the High Committee for Human Organ Transplantation headed by the Minister of Health and Population, which included the announcement of his selection of Dr. Hisham Mokhtar Hamouda, Professor of Urology and Director of the Assiut University Kidney Transplantation Program to become the first member. It is the culmination of the success achieved by the kidney transplant program at Assiut University over the past four years under the leadership of Dr. Hisham Mokhtar, who managed to perform about 40 surgeries of kidney transplants for adults and children with a success rate of 100%, and a reflection of the excellence of medical system at the University of Assiut

Assiut University organizes a visit to a delegation of students from five Arab countries to the Virgin Mary Monastery of Mount Assiut

Prof. Dr. Shehata Ghareeb, Vice-President of Assiut University for Education and Students Affairs, said that the university organized a tour and archaeological trip for its guests from the Arab student delegation, which is spending a one-month training period for scientific and practical study within a number of faculties, factories and companies in Assiut. The Vice President of Assiut University praised the increase of the student delegation to the Monastery of the Virgin Mary as it is one of the most important archaeological and religious monuments in the governorates of the Republic. Dr. Shehata Ghareeb noted that the student delegation comprises 28 students along with a number of supervisors from the countries of Palestine, Iraq, Jordan, Yemen and Saudi Arabia, which was received on July 1 within the framework of the League's partnership in the Arab Council for Student Training of the Arab Universities Union, headed by Dr. Amr. Ezzat Salama, Secretary General of the Federation.

The President of Assiut University announces that the university team won several awards during its participation in the annual competition of the teams in the Egyptian universities

Assiut University President, Dr. Tarek El-Gammal, affirmed the keenness of the university administration to pay attention to student activities and provide the necessary financial and moral support to develop them and encourage students to participate positively and prepare a generation of future leaders. Prof. Shehata Gharib also stated that this comes within the framework of the participation of the student team in the annual competition of Enactus teams, organized by the Ministry of Higher Education under the auspices of Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Education. Prof.Dr. Shehata Gharib said that the competition witnessed the participation of competing student groups from all universities and the presence of private entrepreneurs and private companies sponsors for Enactus Egypt.

A delegation of Russian students in Dagestan concludes their academic year at Assiut University with visits to the most important tourist attractions in Cairo

Assiut University President, Prof.Dr. Tarek El Gammal, revealed the completion of the study period for the delegation of the Russian University of Dagestan and their departure to their homeland after spending two months in the hospitality of Assiut University to learn the Arabic language and learn about the Egyptian and Islamic civilizations, which comes within the framework of joint cooperation between the university and a number of Russian universities which includes the exchange of student delegations on a regular basis. Dr. Hassan Abdel Hamid said that the visit of the Russian delegation also included visits to Luxor and a visit to the Monastery of the Virgin Mary in Durunka , Assiut. The delegation also concluded a tour to visit the most important tourist attractions in Cairo and Giza, which included visits to the Egyptian Museum, the pyramids, Sphinx, the castle, Khan ElKahlilil, and Al-Azhar.
