President of Assiut University Students Union wins two positions in the Ideal Student Competition and Student Initiatives during his participation in the Leadership Development Camp
Assiut University President, Prof.Dr. Tarek El-Gammal, received a new report on the activity of the university student delegation participating in the 22nd regiment at the leaders' training camp in Helwan within the participation of 27 Egyptian universities, and this after the end of its proceedings which lasted from 2/9 till 6/9 with the participation of 6 male students and 3 female students.
In this regard, Prof. Dr. Shehata Ghareeb announced that, in addition to winning the first place in table tennis , the delegation won a number of other awards in various competitions.
He praised the victory of the student Ali Galal El-Din, President of the University Students Union and the student at the Faculty of Engineering, who won the fifth place in the competition of student initiatives for the initiative of "grading project" as well as the fourth place in the competition of the ideal student.

The University of Montana receives a delegation from Assiut University to learn about its advanced experience in integrating students with disabilities with their peers
Assiut University President, Prof.Dr. Tarek El-Gammal, asserted that the university administration is fully aware of the importance of integrating students with disabilities in university work as well as in student activities. He revealed that the Universiry is about to establish the first center in the University to care for people with special abilities and needs , and the first laboratory in Egypt to be specialized for carrying out test for people with audiovisual disabilities. He pointed out that this came in parallel with the success of the initiative launched by the university last year, which announced that the university is friendly to people with special needs.
This came in response to the report submitted by prof.Dr. Shehata Gharib Shalkamy, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, upon his arrival at the University of Montana, USA, at the head of a delegation comprising Dr. Mohamed Hussein Mousa, Director of the Center for Special Needs at the University, and Dr. Doaa Mostafa, in an attempt to recognize the leading experiment of Montana University in integrating the disabled with their peers through its developed center in this field in order to benefit from that experience in establishing a special center for disabled people at the university, which is implemented by the university in cooperation with Dream Foundation for Education and Training and in coordination with representatives of AMIDEAST.

Assiut University offers 283 scholarships to researchers from African countries in various faculties and institutes of the university
Assiut University President, Prof. Dr. Tarek El-Gammal, affirmed the university's interest in scientific openness and deepening relations with various countries of the world (especially those from the African continent) in all fields, especially the fields related to educational services and scientific research.
Prof.Dr. Tarek El-Gammal revealed that the University has offered a number of 283 scholarships for African researchers in postgraduate studies, whether Masters or PhD, during the academic year 2019/2020.
Assiut University President receives members of the Institute of International Education (IIE) to discuss ways of cooperation between the two parties
Assiut University President, prof. Dr. Tarek El-Gammal, stressed the keenness of the university administration to open up with all universities and educational institutions at the regional and international level in the educational process and scientific research.
This came during a meeting with Dr. Tarek El-Gamal to a delegation from IIE, which includes Ms. Carrie Johnson, Deputy Regional Director of the Institute of Higher Education for the Middle East and Africa, and Ms. Nevin Gad Al-Mawla, in the presence of Dr. Shehata Gharib, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Ahmed Hamza, Head of Mechanical Engineering Department at Assiut University and coordinator of the project proposal at the university. They discussed the proposal of the university's participation in the opportunities provided by the Institute for a scholarship program for undergraduate students to obtain university degrees to United states Agency for International Development (USAID).
On his part, Dr. Shehata Gharib explained that the aim of the meeting is to start actual steps on joint cooperation between the two parties.

Assiut University President signs a protocol of cooperation with the Academy of Arts to open fields of scientific and technical cooperation between them
Assiut University President, Dr. Tarek El-Gammal, affirmed the keenness of the university administration to play its service role in developing the society and and contributing to the advancement of thought, art and values.
This came during a meeting between the President of Assiut University, and Dr. Ashraf Zaki, President of the Academy of Arts and the President of the Film Association, Dr. Mohsen Al-Twain, Dean of the Higher Institute of Cinema, and Dr. Nabila Hassan, Professor of Acting and Directing at the Higher Institute of theatric Arts.
In this regard, Prof. Dr. Tarek El-Gammal explained that the meeting included the signing of a protocol of cooperation between the University and the Academy of Arts, represented by Dr. Ashraf Zaki, in the implementation of a joint educational program between the Academy of Arts and the University of Assiut, which aims to provide the the opportunity to teach arts on a wider scale to the undergraduates and postgraduates..

Assiut University announces the conclusion of the visit of a committee from the Basic Sciences Sector at the Ministry of Higher Education in an inspection tour to evaluate the Molecular Biology Research Unit
Assiut University President, Prof. Dr. Tarek El-Gammal, affirmed the keenness of the university administration to harness all the possibilities necessary to start the study at the Institute of Molecular Biology with the beginning of the new academic year 2019/2020 as the first research institute specialized in this field at the level of Egyptian universities.
This came in his comment on the report presented to him by Dr. Ahmed Al-Minshawi, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, who accompanied a committee from the Basic Sciences Sector at the Ministry of Higher Education in an inspection tour to evaluate the Molecular Biology Research Unit.
The Vice-President added that the institute will be located within the new research complex under construction and processing, which is the largest integrated complex of research centers at the level of Egyptian universities to conduct studies and research involving more than one specialist on an area of 4 thousand square meters and a height of 6 floors, noting that the Institute will specialize in the preparation and conduct studies in many areas, including the Faculties of Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Nursing, Agriculture and Science.
