Assiut University President, Prof.Dr. Tarek El-Gammal, affirmed the support of the university administration for its talented students in various fields and the opportunity to show them their different talents and abilities and encourage them to creativity and innovation.
This came within the framework of the participation of Assiut University in the twenty-first creative student forum for 2019, which is organized by the Arab Council for Training and Creativity of the Union of Arab Universities, which started its work today at the University of Al Ain, UAE.
On his part, Dr. Shehata Gharib Shalqami, Vice President of Assiut University for Education and Student Affairs, revealed his participation in the forum, which was held under the title of "The Role of Entrepreneurship and Scientific Innovation among Arab University Students in the Rise of the National Economy", which runs from 27 to 31 October.
The Vice President of Assiut University pointed out that the participation of the university included the participation of student Esraa Yaser Mortada, a student in the Department of Art Education, Faculty of Specific Education, with her research on "the role of entrepreneurship in the use of contemporary mural art to contribute to the renaissance of the national economy", and the student Nayera Khaled, a student in the third year at the department of Decoration at the Faculty of Fine Arts, with her research "Creative leadership in the design of marionette brides and glove puppet theater and its role in the development of the national economy."
Dr. Shehata Gharib expressed his happiness with his honoring by the Secretary General of the Federation of Arab Universities and the Supreme Committee of the Forum during the opening session for his outstanding activity as a member of the Board of Directors of the Arab Council for Student Training and his honorary representation of Assiut University.

Assiut Magazine announces that the Environmental Research Journal has obtained international standards for accreditation of reference laboratories and reference citations for Arab scientific journals (Arcif)
Prof.Dr. Maha Ghanem, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development and Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of “Assiut University for Environmental Research” issued by the Center for Environmental Studies and Research, announced the success of the journal in obtaining the standards of the efficiency factor and citations for the Arab scientific journals. She pointed out that this came in the fourth annual ARCIV report for scientific journals for 2019 during the scientific forum of indicators of production and scientific research in the Arab and international world in digital transitions of Arab university education in cooperation with the American University of Beirut.
In this regard, Dr. Maha Ghanem expressed her pride in receiving this evaluation from Arsif Labs, which is one of the initiatives of the database of production knowledge and scientific research, which is concerned with collecting, analyzing and studying more than 4300 titles of Arabic, scientific and research journals issued by 1400 bodies. Only 499 magazines succeeded in obtaining accreditation standards in 2019 after evaluating these publications according to 31 criteria.

The Vice President of Assiut University arrives to Emirates, on an official visit for several days
Assiut University President, Prof.Dr. Tarek El-Gammal, affirmed the keenness of Assiut University to strengthen its relations with all universities and scientific institutions in various Arab countries in order to expand the frameworks of mutual cooperation.
This came within the framework of the dispatch of the President of the University to Vice President Dr. Shehata Gharib Shalkamy, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, to travel to the United Arab Emirates for a several-day official visit to participate in the activities of the21 st Creative Student Forum (2019), which is organized by the Arab council for student training and creativity and which belongs to the Arab Universities Union.
The meeting also included a presentation by Dr. Shehata Ghareeb where he displayed a copy of the works of the ‘Egypt can with its students’ conference in Egypt, a student vision for the development of higher education, services and student activities.

Assiut University the fifth locally and the twentieth on the Arab level according to the American classification S.U 2020
Prof. Dr. Tarek El-Gammal, President of Assiut University, announced that Assiut University is ranked fifth locally among the best Egyptian universities according to the American SU classification in the last scientific classification for 2020, after the universities of Cairo, Mansoura, Ain Shams and Alexandria as they ranked 885 globally among the best global universities.
Dr. Ahmed El Minshawy, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, said that the American classification is one of the most important international rankings, which includes the evaluation of 1500 universities from 81 countries in the world.
Dr. Maha Ghanem, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development and the official in charge of the university's classification file at the Ministry of Higher Education, revealed that the announcement of the American classification included the declaration of Assiut University to be number 20 in the Arab rank and 22 in the African, noting that the classification includes the evaluation of 13 factors to assess the performance of research and its reputation in terms of number of research, citations, research impact and percentage of publications.

Assiut University announces the launch of the Faculty of Sugar Industry Technology and Integrated Industries for its first activities in training for workers in the Delta Sugar Company for the sugar industry
Assiut University President, prof.Dr. Tarek El-Gammal, praised the activity of the Faculty of Sugar Industry Technology and Integrated Industries, which is the first of its kind in this specialization at the level of the universities of the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Middle East, pointing out the importance of the quality of study and the specialization offered by the college, which contributes to the transition of Assiut University to the Third Generation Universities.
This came after receiving a report from Dr. Mohamed Abdel Wahab, Dean of the Faculty on the organization of a training course for workers in the agricultural sector in the Delta Sugar Company, Hamoul Center in Kafr El-Sheikh governorate entitled "cultivation and challenges of sugar beet in Egypt," in cooperation with national sugar industry companies, and sponsored by Dr. Shehata Gharib, Vice President University for Education and Student Affairs.
In this context, the dean explained that the course included a number of scientific lectures and seminars, which lasted for two consecutive days, which aimed to raise the efficiency of workers in the agricultural sector of Delta Sugar Company and to improve the cultivation and production of sugar beet in Egypt through the provision of the best and latest methods of agriculture and production. He also revealed the best solutions to problems and obstacles facing sugar production to maximize productivity.

Assiut University announces the qualification of (24) teams to represent Upper Egypt universities in the Egyptian competition for ECPC software at the level of the Republic, including 17 teams from the university
Assiut University President, Prof. Dr. Tarek El-Gammal, affirmed the keenness of the university administration to pay attention to ICT, computer science and programming, which is one of the basic requirements of the current era.
At the outset of his speech, Dr. Shehata Gharib congratulated the winning teams who are qualified to compete in the programming competition at the level of the Republic, wishing them to attain advanced places, to represent Upper Egypt in an honor way in Republic competition and to qualify in the major competition at the level of the Arab world and the whole world
On her part, Dr. Tayseer Abdel Hamid explained that the ICPC Programming Competition saw the participation of 68 teams from Upper Egypt universities, 45 teams from Assiut University, 8 teams from EELU University, 6 teams from Luxor University, 5 teams from Minia University and 4 teams from Beni Suef University, as well as 3 teams from Badr and Stem schools, where each team consists of 3 students, revealing that the competition aims at improving the level of students in programming in order to develop the spirit of students to work as a team, train them to work under pressure, develop their thinking and ability to perform logical analysis, and train them how to invest time, distribute tasks, collaborate between team members. It also aims to let students discover new and advanced ways to learn through the Internet.
