Secretary General of the Federation of Arab Universities, along with a number of ministers and university presidents, participates in the finding solutions for the development of medical education through the integrated medical system

Assiut University President, Prof. Dr. Tarek El-Gammal, revealed that the training and practice systems of doctors are stronger than the educational systems available in the faculties of medicine, pointing out that the distinction of Egyptian doctors in a number of disciplines is due to the density of practice and accumulated experiences rather than an excellent educational system. This was announced during the participation of the President of the University of Assiut in a seminar entitled "Development of medical education through the integrative medical system", which is held in the proceedings of the 8th International Conference of the Society of Integrated Medicine and Sleep Disorders organized by the Association under the umbrella of the Union of Arab Universities and the cooperation of Assiut University, Aswan University, Badr University, and Sudan Nile College. Prof.Dr. Suzan Salama, Professor of Chest Diseases at Assiut University and President of the Conference, stated that the session aims to discuss the most important features facing the development of medical education through the system of integrated medicine.

Assiut University signs a cooperation agreement between the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and the Veterinary General Union

Assiut University witnessed the conclusion of a cooperation agreement between the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and the Veterinary General Union in the presence of Prof.Dr. Madiha Hosny Darwish, Dean of the Faculty . Dr. Madiha Darwish declared that the cooperation agreement comes within the framework of the developmental role of Assiut University, aiming to harness its scientific and human resources for the benefit of its society. She added that, according to the agreement, the Faculty is to educate veterinary cadres and raise their efficiency in the various governorates of Egypt. This is to be carried out through a series of workshops and training courses in the centers and hospitals of the Faculty.

MOIC team, Assiut University, attains the third place in the competition of Youth Leaders Organization for the best student activity in the Arab Republic of Egypt and the first place in social media

Prof.Dr. Shehata Ghareeb, Vice-President for Education and Student Affairs, announced that the university team has received the third place in the Model Organization Of Islamic Co-operation (MOIC), and the first place at the level of Social Media as the best video that has achieved high viewing rates. This came as part of the competition of the Youth Leaders Organization for the best student activity in the Arab Republic of Egypt, organized by the Foundation for Youth leaders to view many activities of students in various fields and from various Egyptian universities. Prof. Shehata stressed that the University administration, under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Tarek El-Gammal, President of the University, is keen to support student activities and encourage students to enroll in them in order to help them build their personalities and develop their skills besides the academic study.

The Advisor to the Minister of Higher Education visits the Orman Cardiology Hospital and the Faculty of dentistry during his visit to Assiut University

Prof. Mohamed El- Shinawi, Advisor to the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research for International Relations and Agreements, accompanied by Prof. Ahmed Prof.Dr. Ahmed Al-Menshawi, Vice President of Assiut University for Graduate Studies and Research, visited the Al-Orman Cardiology Hospital and the Faculty of Dentistry on the sidelines of his participation in the activities of the international cooperation forum organized by the Office of International Relations at Assiut University. Graduate Studies and Research. The vice president of the university declared that the visit started with Dr. Mohamed El Shinawi to the Orman Cardiology Hospital, where he was welcomed by Dr. Hossam Al-Arabi, director of the Orman Hospital, to review the advanced levels of service provided by the hospital to the patients in the most accurate and most complex surgical procedures. He also examined the 8-storey building, which was built at a cost of over 350 million pounds, with a capacity of 260 beds, medium care, intensive care, three heart catheterization equipments, six open heart surgery rooms, a magnetic resonance device and a CT machine. The building also consists of emergency units, external clinics, a unit of Anesthesiology and Medical Rehabilitation of Heart Patients, a unit of Research and Cardiology as well as the application of the technology of magnetic resonance and natural effort which is the latest and unique of its kind in the Republic.

Assiut University President signs a memorandum with 2020 Oncology Foundation in Upper Egypt to speed up the process of preparing the linear accelerator building in South Egypt Cancer Institute

Assiut University President, Prof. Dr. Tarek El-Gammal, praised the efforts of a number of governmental institutions and civil society organizations in supporting the medical system within Assiut University with its various institutions. This took place during the ceremony of signing an agreement of understanding with 2020 Oncology Foundation in Upper Egypt, in the presence of Prof.Dr. Shehata Ghareeb, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Prof.Dr. Ahmed Assiut University President, Prof. Dr. Tarek El-Gammal, and a number of the Foundation's members as well as a number of specialized professors at the institute. Dr. Mustafa El-Sharkawi said that the protocol of cooperation aims at the contribution of the Foundation in completing the processing of the linear accelerator building in the South Egypt Cancer Institute and overcoming any obstacles that may obstruct its operation.

Assiut University launches the third annual conference of the South Valley Society for Chest Diseases and Allergology

Assiut University President, Prof. Dr. Tarek El-Gammal, praised the vital role of the Department of Chest Diseases at the University among the departments of the Faculty of Medicine until it has become a model and practical example of the university's mission. This was announced during the participation of Prof. Tarek El-Gammal in the presence of the proceedings of the third annual conference of the South Valley Society for Chest Diseases and Allergy. Dr. Mohamed Mustafa Metwally said that the events of the workshop for the third conference of the Association extends over two consecutive days and includes workshops on intensive care, diagnostic radiation, sleep disorders, respiratory functions, and the use of serums in the treatment of allergies.

Assiut University President opens an artistic exhibition entitled Tohoku through the eyes of Japanese photographers

Assiut University President, Prof. Dr. Tarek El-Gammal, emphasized the university's appreciation and respect for all forms of arts as well as the university’s belief in the role of art in documenting the history and culture of peoples' civilizations. This was announced during the opening of an artistic exhibition, entitled "Tohoku through the eyes of Japanese photographers," organized by the Faculty of Fine Arts in the exhibition hall of the administrative building in cooperation with the Japanese Foundation, which was represented at the opening by Mr. Yufu Kazawa, Director of the Foundation, and Mr. Satoshi Kawakita, Program Coordinator at Japan Foundation in Cairo. Dr. Mohammad Thabit Badari said that the exhibition comes within the framework of the cooperation of the Faculty with the Japan Foundation in Cairo, which has been extended since the opening of the Faculty of Fine Arts and witnessed close cooperation in organizing a number of activities and cultural events. He explained that the exhibition includes 123 paintings and documentaries on the most important aspects of Japanese culture and civilization, with the participation of a team of 9 professional photographers.

Assiut University President emphasizes the importance of setting goals as an essential step in realizing the dream of the youth during the opening of the rehabilitation program for new resident doctors

During his participation in the launch of the "Rehabilitation Program for New Resident Doctors (3-7 March)," Assiut University President, Prof. Dr. Tarek El-Gammal, stressed the need for a specific strategy which is to include a number of objectives for the tasks to be carried out, pointing out that setting goals is the first step and the main key in achieving the dream and ambition of any young man. This was announced. Prof. Tarek El-Gammal also asked new resident physicians to be aware of their rights and duties while dealing with patients, nurses or junior staff, as well as to build relationships based upon affection, good treatment and conflict avoidance.
