Assiut University President, Prof. Dr. Tarek El-Gammal, participated in the launching of a workshop on the assessment of students in the new program of the universities of Upper Egypt, in the presence of Dr. Ahmed Makhlouf, Director of the Center for Educational Development in the university and a member of the medical sector committee of the Supreme Council of Universities, Dr. Hoda Makhlouf, Director of Quality Assurance Unit at the Faculty, and a number of faculty members.
Dr. Ahmed Makhlouf declared that the workshop aims to provide the opportunity to train faculty members on the methods of assessment in the integrated curricula. The workshop is held under the auspices of Dr. Nadia Badrawi, head of the Committee for the development of education at the Supreme Council of Universities, and Major General Ahmed Al-Taoudi, Director of the Military Medical Academy, and with the cooperation of the Egyptian Knowledge Bank. The speakers of the workshop were: Dr. Adrian Freeman, President of the European Board of Medical Education, and Dr. Samsama, Coordinator of the Excellence Program in Medical Education in Australia.

The President of Assiut University and the President of the Administrative Control Authority inaugurates a seminar on the role of women in the stability of society and combating corruption
Prof.Dr. Tarek El-Gammal, President of Assiut University, emphasized the great role of women in society throughout history. He pointed out that the divine religions deal with the importance of women and their status and emphasize their ability to maintain family and community cohesion. He also revealed that the university administrations have always supported women in all kinds of fields, due to the large role women play in society (in general) and in Assiut University (in particular), where 70 % of the university graduates are female.
This came during his participation in the opening of the symposium "The role of women in the stability of society and the fight against corruption" in the framework of the celebration of International Women's Day organized by the university in cooperation with the National Council for Women in Assiut.

Vice-President of Assiut University participates in the proceedings of the training program in the field of cultural relations
Prof.Dr. Ahmed Al-Menshawi, Vice President of Assiut University for Graduate Studies and Research, stressed the importance of the cultural relations sector within the university as it is the body entrusted with organizing the work related to grants and scholarships, announcing the scientific prizes and the scientific agreements, and organizing the procedures of researchers within the university. Appreciating this kind of work, the university provides the cultural sector wirh the necessary support and tools to achieve more development. This came during the participation of the Vice President in the proceedings of the training program held in the field of cultural relations.
The Secretary-General of the University announced that the training extends until the end of the current week and includes the training of 35 employees (in various faculties) who are specialized in the field of cultural relations. This comes within the framework of the university plan held to achieve the main objectives of the National Strategic Plan to reduce corruption and combat it in the second phase 2019/2022.

Assiut University President receives a German scientist as part of his visit to the University to discuss some cases of pediatric oncology and deliver some lectures
Assiut University President, Prof. Dr. Tarek El-Gammal, emphasized the role of the university in providing a comprehensive and integrated health service in the various fields in general and in the field of oncology in particular. The University has decided to establish the new 2020 University Hospital of Oncology, as the number of Oncology patients in Assiut University Hospital and in South Egypt Cancer Institute is increasing.
This was announced during the meeting between Prof. Dr. Tarek El-Gammal and Professor Frank Berthold, Professor of Pediatric Oncology at the University of Cologne, Germany.
In addition, the Dean of the South Egypt Cancer Institute added that the German Professor's program extends for three consecutive days in order to deliver some scientific lectures and workshops in the field of pediatric oncology, as well as performing some visits to the pediatric department, the bone marrow transplant unit, and a number of the departments of the Institute.

Assiut University Media students attain the second place in the fourth Festival of Shorouk for the creativity of media students
The Department of Media at the Faculty of Arts, Assiut University, received the second award in the Fourth festival of Shorouk for the creativity of media students. The festival was organized by the Higher International Institute of Information in Al-Shorouk in cooperation with the Cultural Development Fund under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education, Dr. Inas Abdel-Dayem, Minister of Culture, and with the participation of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Saad Ibrahim Dean of the International Higher Institute of Information and the President of the Festival, and the great artist Samiha Ayoub, guest of honor of the festival.

Adopting the slogan “With Science, nations are build,” Assiut University President inaugurates the work of the Third International Conference on Basic and Applied Mycology
Assiut University President, Prof. Dr. Tarek El-Gammal, revealed that the university is taking quick steps to start establishing the largest research centre among Egyptian universities, where the university will host its distinguished young researchers. The centre is to include several institutes including molecular biology and genetics, properties of matter, manufacturing and innovating medicine, as well as integrated institutes such as fungi, so as to provide more opportunities for collaborative research work.
This came during the opening of the Third International Conference on Basic and Applied Mycology, organized by Assiut University Moubasher Mycological Centre in collaboration with the Society of Basic and Applied Mycology in Egypt in the Eight Hall of the Administrative Building . The Conference was held at Assiut University.

A Professor at Assiut University wins the award of scientific excellence in international publications in the field of agriculture for the year 2019
Prof.Dr. Ahmed Al-Menshawi, Vice President of Assiut University for Graduate Studies and Research, announced that Dr. Mohamed Farghaly Alameddine, Professor of Poultry Production, Faculty of Agriculture, Assiut University, has won the award of scientific excellence in international publication for 2019, which is awarded every two years for the best and highest researcher in scientific production in international publishing in the field of agriculture.
Dr. Mohamed Farghaly received his Master's Degree in 2003 and his Ph.D. in 2008, and was promoted to the rank of professor in June 2018. Dr. Mohamed Farghaly Al Alamuddin won the award for his outstanding role in international publishing, for promoting scientific research, for enriching the educational process in agriculture, and for contributing to the establishment of a distinguished scientific school in the fields of animal and poultry production .
