Assiut University President, Prof. Dr. Tarek El-Gammal, received his counterpart Dr. Mohamed El Shuaibi, President of Taiz University, along with a number of Yemeni students who are studying at various faculties of Assiut University. Prof.Dr. Tarek Al-Gammal assured his Yemeni counterpart during the meeting that the university administration is keen to provide all kinds of support and care for international students from all sister countries, both during university and postgraduate studies, and to follow up on their academic and living conditions during their university studies, facilitating any kind of obstacles that can face them during their study. The President of Assiut University declared that a discussion was held concerning the renewal of the necessary agreements and ways to facilitate payment of expenses to students and provide them with the necessary scientific support and health care.

The second scientific conference of the teacher was inaugurated under the title "The New Education System (Reality - Challenges)", which is organized by the Department of Curriculum and Teaching Methods at the Faculty of Education, with the participation of a number of faculty members and their assistants in various faculties and a group of experts and professors of education from various specialized bodies and Egyptian universities. Dr. Adel Al-Nagdi explained that the new system represents a great movement unprecedented in the field of education after many years of reliance on the system of memorization, and in this sense the conference aims in the second version to discuss the problems of education in the new system, which is based on a new educational system for the stages of kindergarten and primary school, and an assessment system for secondary school stage.

Dr. Ahmed Ghoneim, Head of Cardiothoracic Surgery Department, Faculty of Medicine, Assiut University, announced the closing of the section for a training workshop in the field of Cardiothoracic Surgery on Osteoarthritis Cases, in the presence of Professor Paolo Nafis, the Portuguese expert in Cardiothoracic Surgery; Dr. Ahmed Nabil, Assistant Lecturer in the Department and the workshop's Rapporteur; and with the participation of a group of professors and doctors of Cardiothoracic Surgery in Al-Minya University and Assiut University. This was held under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Tarek El-Gammal, President of Assiut University, and Prof.Dr. Ahmed Al-Manshawi, Vice President for Graduate Studies. Dr. Mahmoud Khairy pointed out that the workshop aimed to exchange scientific expertise, train young doctors on the latest international technologies in the field of aortic valve constriction and on the process of replacing the valve with advanced surgical methods. The proceedings of the workshop included a lecture delivered by Professor Paulo and which was entitled "Narrowing the aortic valve and surgical methods to replace it".

Assiut University President, Prof. Dr. Tarek El-Gammal, announced the launch of the forum entitled “The First International Cooperation for Assiut University,” which will be organized by the Office of International Relations at the University, under the auspices of Prof.Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research; General Gamal Nour El Din, Governor of Assiut; Prof.Dr. Shehata Ghareeb, Vice-President for Education and Student Affairs; and Prof. Dr. Ahmed Al-Manshawi, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research; in the presence of Eng. Sameeh Sawiris, as a guest of honor, and a number of embassies and cultural attaches from a number of Arab countries, as well as representatives of the German Agency for Cultural Exchange (DAAD), The British Council, and U.S. Agency for International Development.

Assiut University President, Prof.Dr. Tarek El-Gammal, emphasized the university's unique and close relations with the universities of the Russian Federation, which is one of the luminous points in the international relations activities at the university. He stressed the university's keenness to complete the path of cooperation and friendship with its counterparts in Russia . This came during a meeting between the President of the University of Assiut and Prof.Dr. Ahmed Al-Manshawi, Vice President for Graduate Studies with a delegation from the University of Russia for Geological Prospecting under the chairmanship of Dr. Kadim Kasianov, University President; Dr. Vagil Kermov, Vice-President for Graduate Studies; and Dr. Natalya Snov, Professor of Geology at the Russian University and coordinator of the convention . Prof. Dr. Ahmed Al-Manshawi pointed out that the meeting of the President of Assiut University with the delegation included the signing of an agreement between the parties to organize cooperation and joint work within the framework of the visit of the Russian delegation to the University, which is also scheduled to include his visit to a number of the faculties of the University and its special units to recognize the ways of expanding areas of cooperation in the next period.

Today, the University of Assiut has inaugurated the proceedings of a training course on "Basic Skills of the English Premier League" organized by the Faculty of Physical Education in cooperation with the British Council, the English Football Federation and the Ministry of Youth and Sports. The course is to run for four consecutive days. On his part, Dr. Hissam Saleh explained that the course, the second of its kind within the University of Assiut, aims at about 50 trainees from the students of the university, thus focusing on the students' skills so that they would be trained to work in the fields of football, management, training and arbitration.

Assiut University President, Prof. Dr. Tarek El-Gammal, received the shield of the Presidency of the Republic, presented to him by Prof. Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, during the session of the Supreme Council of Universities in honor of Assiut University for winning the second position in the presidential competition, which was launched by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to choose the best Egyptian University and announced during the youth conference held at Cairo University . On his part, Prof. El-Jamal expressed his pride and happiness with this honor, which reflects the prestigious status of the University of Assiut among the Egyptian universities. The President of Assiut University paid tribute to President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi for his attention and keenness to develop higher education , for his support for the various Egyptian universities, and for his belief in the role of science and knowledge in building nations. Besides, Prof. El-Gammal praised the role of Prof. Dr. Khalid Abdul Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education in supervising the organization of the competition with accuracy and impartiality.

Assiut University President, Prof. Dr. Tarek El-Gammal, announced the launching of the proceedings of the scientific conference, entitled "Prospects for Development in the Arab World – A Legal Vision", which is organized by the University in cooperation with Zarqa University (Jordan) from 21 to 23 April 2019. Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research; Prof. Dr. Amro Ezzat Salama, the Secretary General of the Association of Arab Universities; and Prof. Dr. Bassam Al-Helou, President of Zarqa University, along with a group of professors and researchers from a number of Arab and Egyptian universities. Prof. El-Gamal pointed out the importance of the conference, which reflects the orientations of all Arab countries towards achieving development and discussing the mechanisms of activating development and its close relationship with the law.

Prof. Dr. Shehata Ghareeb, Vice-President for Education and Student Affairs, announced the start of the procedures of the establishment of the first laboratory for the exams of blind students in an attempt to facilitate for the student the conduct of the examinations accurately and according to the latest systems applied in the universities of the world. This is part of the University's efforts to develop its services to its students, and especially those with special needs, providing them with the necessary access which ensures their integration with their fellow students in a normal way. This was carried out under the auspices of Prof.Dr. Tarek El-Gammal, the President of the University, who announced the launch of an initiative to declare "Assiut University: a friendly university for students with special needs.”

Assiut University President, Prof. Dr. Tarek El-Gammal, stressed that the university is striving to complete the implementation of a number of important and national projects during the coming period, which requires cooperation with all ministries and governmental bodies as well as civil society organizations and non-governmental organizations. This came during his meeting with a delegation including MP Suheir Al-Hadi, Member of the House of Representatives for Assiut Governorate; Dr. Hanan Gerges, Executive Vice-President of Baseera; Dr. Amal Zakaria, Head of Planning Sector, Ministry of Planning, Monitoring, and Follow-up; Mr. Mohamed Rashad, Head of Urban Planning. Assiut University President made clear that these projects include the completion of the establishment of the largest research center at the level of Egyptian universities and the completion of the largest hospital for injuries and emergencies at the level of the Republic and the establishment of hospital 2020 University for the treatment of tumors as well as the establishment of a number of new colleges and the replacement and renovation of the Nile Hall to become the center of the Nile Enlightenment and Cultural Radiation .
