Assiut University Wins the Second Rank among the Nation's Best University in the National Presidential Competition

Assiut University President, Prof. Tarek Al-Gammal, announced the success of Assiut University in winning the second rank in the presidential competition launched by President Abdul-Fattah Al-Sisi and supervised by Prof. Khaled Abdul-Ghaffar Minister of Higher Education and Academic Research. Prof. Gammal stated that the university's rank was officially declared to be second after Kafr El-Sheikh University whereas the University of Mansoura came third.

In his Visit to China, Assiut University President Signs a Collective Agreement Including Twenty International Universities besides a Bilateral Agreement for Technology Transfer

Prof. Tarek El-Gammal, Assiut University President, arrives after a successful visit to the North China University for Electric Power, one of the largest Chinese universities in this field. The visit came upon invitation from Dr. Khalid Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research. Prof. Gammal noted that his four-day visit came up with signing a collective agreement with the University of North China including twenty international universities from Egypt, Indonesia, Russia, Germany and U.S.A. This agreement aims at organizing possible means for cooperation and joint work among various parties in the field of energy, in addition to the exchange of students and professors to assist and develop scientific cooperation in energy domains sponsored by Egyptian and Chinese power companies.

As per the directions of President Abdul-Fattah Al-Sisi to activate the role of community participation in implementing and directing governmental hospitals to develop health system in Egypt, Prof. Tarek El-Gammal, Assiut University President announced that he signed a protocol of cooperation including five parties. Prof. Al-Gammal stated that the parties include: Assiut University 2020 Oncology Foundation, 5737 Hospital, Association of Friends of the National Cancer-free initiative, and Egypt Cancer Network (ECN) in America. He also asserted that the University administration is keen on building the new 2020 university hospital in compliance with the most recent medical systems.

Assiut University President Praises the Unit for Hand and Microscopic Surgeries as one of the Leading Units in Egypt and the Middle East

In his Participation in the Tenth Workshop on Peripheral Neurosurgery, Assiut University President, Prof. Tarek El-Gammal, indicated that the workshop has been one of the most outstanding scientific activities organized by the unit annually for the tenth successive round. The workshop offers programs, lectures and live surgeries; an endeavor that adds much to the expertise of all participants. Dr. Walid Riyad, Assistant Professor of Orthopedics and Chairman of the Workshop Organizing Committee, stated that the workshop honored Dr. Bassam Mohammed Addas and Prof. Raphael Riunso. He pointed out that the workshop program included practical training on connecting the peripheral nerves using experiment mice. Participants were also trained on normal organs. On the third day, a number of complicated surgeries were conducted and introduced live to the trainees in the adjacent room.

Assiut University President Receives the Minister of Youth and Sports to Launch the Forum of Youth Dialogue

In the University's celebrations of the anniversary of the glorious October victory, Assiut University President, Prof. Tarek El Gammal, met Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports, and Major General Gamal Nour El Din, Governor of Assiut. Prof. Al-Gammal stated that the guests of the university visited an exhibition held for the most important projects done by the youth. These projects were aided by Small Enterprise Development Authority, which offered loans to young people to implement a number of small and very small enterprises. Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Shehata Gharib, added that the exhibition of the young entrepreneurs included a variety of handicrafts, ready-made garments, food stuff and leather products.

The committee included Dr. Ihab Abo ElSooad (as a representative of the ministry of higher education), Colonel Tamer Abu Bakr (Egyptian Armed Forces Engineering Authority), and Lieutenant Mohamed Salah (Administrative Control Authority) Dr. Tarek Al-Jamal declared that the work of the committee aims at evaluating the university and measuring its readiness to welcome the new academic year as well as its preparations for receiving students, upgrading the efficiency of buildings and facilities, beautifying the campus and improving the educational and health service provided to all university students.

Assiut University President Signs a Cooperation Protocol Between the General Authority for Adult Education and the Faculty of Education

In his meeting with Dr. Ashour Ahmed Omry, Chairman of the General Authority for Adult Education, Mr. Mustafa Abdullah, Director of Assiut Branch, and Mr. Mohamed El Daly, Director of Sohag Branch, Assiut University President, Prof. Tarek El Gammal, asserted the role of the university in community service and knowledge. Prof. Adel Rasmy, Dean of the Faculty of Education explained that the protocol of cooperation comes within the framework of the agreement between the Ministry of Higher Education and the General Authority for Adult Education. Details of the cooperation protocol include joint between the General Authority for Adult Education and Faculty members and students to ensure the eradication of illiteracy at Assiut University. It also states that each Education student should work to educating 8 people during the period of his/her study as a requirement before graduation.
