Al-Sharkawi Unveils the Amounts of Donations and the Rooms Preparation in the Project of 2020 University Hospital for Cancer

As the Egyptian Family House Authority launches its initiative support of the 2020 University Hospital Project, Dr. Mostafa Al-Sharkawi, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Foundation of Fellows of So Foundation of Fellows of South Egypt Cancer Institute uth Egypt Cancer Institute, has highly esteemed the efforts of the Egyptian Family House Authority, Assiut Governorate, and the effective communal role in almost all fields. Besides, the Authority's contribution and support devoted to the South Egypt Cancer Institute have been remarkable particularly in the development of the health services offered to the patients. Dr. Sharkawi revealed the amounts of the donations reaching about 20 thousands Egyptian Pounds for the each individual share and 50 thousands for the collective (group) share. He added that the costs of the preparing Chemo-Room will reach 180 thousands Egyptian pounds, while the costs of establishing and preparation of a Chemo-Room will reach 300 thousands, and the rooms may be named after the donor's name for whosoever wishes.

By Signing the Agreement of the South Egypt Cancer Institute El-Gammal Starts his Plan to Computerize the Administrative
Work of Assiut University

Dr. Tarek El-Gammal, Assiut University Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research indicated that he has already signed a cooperation pact between the university and the association: "loyalty for Egypt" established by the International African Arab Bank with an aim of computerizing the entire work of the South Egypt Cancer Institute. This is a beginning of the project aiming at computerizing the entire University in the nearest future.

Cancer Recovered Recount their Stories of Defeating the Illness During the University's Celebration of their International Day

Foundation of Fellows of South Egypt Cancer Institute held their celebrations of the International Day for those who escaped Cancer. Dr. Mostafa Al-Sharkawi, former Dean of the Cancer Institute and chairman of the Foundation of Fellows of the Cancer Institute, stated that these celebrations take place for the 4th time this year. This assures the distinguished medical service provided to all patients of all sexes and ages. This year's festival, comes under the slogan: "I Can…We Can" to encourage and raise the spirit and psychic conditions of the patients to ensure their capability and power to overcome the disease. The celebration also aimed at creating a more communal support for the execution of the 2020 University Hospital.

Assiut University Succeeds in Saving the Lives of an Egyptian Youngman and Yemeni Citizen by Performing Two Liver Transplants at AL-Rajhi University Hospital

Dr. Ahmed A.Gaeis, Assiut University President, announced the success of two new liver transplants at Al-Rajhi University Hospital. With these two transplants, the number of has new become 19 liver transplants; a remarkable indication of the distinction and success in the domain. This also refers to the capacity of Al-Rajhi Hospital to pursue its program in Liver Transplants which has been previously done with 100% success. Regarding the details of the latest transplants, Dr. Ihab Fawzy, Hospital Director, said that the first case involved liver transplant for a young man aging 39 and the donor was his 33-year-old wife. The second case; involved a 63-year-old Yemeni patient. Donor for the Yemeni patient was his 22 years old son. Dr Fawzy assured that the hospital provides suitable atmosphere for all patients and that all former patients who had transplants are now fine and healthy and enjoy normal liver functions

Assiut University Council Approves A Joint Memo of Understanding Between Assiut University and Universidad Nacional de Asunción, Paraguay

Assiut University Council, headed by Dr. Ahmed A. Gaeis, President of the university, has approved a memo of understanding between Assiut University and Universidad Nacional de Asunción, Paraguay. Dr Gaeis indicated that the Memo aims at supporting and developing scientific and cultural cooperation between the two universities. It will also aim at exchanging information about research and education, educational programs, authorship, invitation of faculty members and student exchange programs for short-term visits for the purpose of education or scientific research specially in the fields of Medicine, education, teaching and learning, teaching and information technology.

Assiut University Signs A Memorandum of Understanding With Nicosia University Cyprus

Headed by Dr. Ahmed A. Gaeis, Assiut University Council approved the Memorandum of Understanding between Assiut University and Nicosia, Cyprus. Dr Gaeis asserted that the Memo aims at supporting and developing scientific and cultural cooperation between the two universities. This will be carried out via a cooperative academic program for the exchange of research, educational and teaching programs in addition to exchange visits of faculty members to participate in the mentioned scientific activities, workshops, conferences, and training programs. The exchange visits will also include students for short-term research or learning visits especially in the field of medicine and nursing.

Assiut University President Signs an Agreement with French Montpellier University

Dr. Ahmed A. Gaeis, Assiut University President, met Dr. Emanuel Cornillo, Professor and Head of Cancer Diseases Biology, and Dr. Joseph Youaqim, Professor of Industrial Pharmaceuticals and Coordinator of the relationships between Assiut and Montpellier Universities, and Dr. Nagwa Abul-Maaly, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Science. Gaeis stated that the British Times Ranking of International Universities has placed Assiut University in the 301st of its system among best 378 universities in countries of growing economy. He also indicated that Assiut University came as 26th among best Arab Nation Countries. Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, Dr. Tarek Al-Gammal stated that this is the first time Assiut University is placed among best universities of the growing economy countries on the web site of the British Times that issues five different ranking systems of World countries.
