Assiut University President meets the Chairman of the Board of the Dar Al-Tahrir to agree on a joint cooperation between the two institutions

Assiut University President, Prof. Tarek El Gammal, praised Dar El-Tahrir for Printing and Publishing, for being a media platform including some of the most important newspapers and electronic news portals, the most important being Al-Gomhouria newspaper, which is one of the largest and oldest Arab newspapers and a good model for journalistic work that is based on accuracy and objectivity. This came during his meeting with Mr. Saad Salim, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dar Al Tahrir for Printing and Publishing; Mr. Ahmed Omar, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Al-Masaa Newspaper; Mr. Mahmoud Al-Asiri, Director of the Al-Gomhouria Newpaper Office in Assiut; and a number of journalists, in the presence of Prof. Shehata Ghareeb, Vice-President of Assiut University for Education and Students Affairs. The President of the University of Assiut confirmed the University's readiness to cooperate and work with the Dar Al-Tahrir Foundation through a cooperation protocol that includes a number of basic dimensions that serve both the vision and strategy of the University.

During his participation in an Art Symposium: President of Assiut University announces the role of the Nile Center for Enlightenment and Civilization Radiation in supporting the cultural movement in the university

Assiut University President, Prof. Tarek El Gammal, announced the start of work at the Nile Center for Enlightenment and Civilization Radiation, which is to play a great role in spreading cultural and artistic awareness, improving the public taste, and creating a cultural environment. This environment is to encourage the talents of young people through the Center's various activities, which will serve as an integrated cultural palace within the university. This came during the opening of the activities of an artistic symposium entitled "Lunar eclipse in ancient cultures" by Dr. Inas Dahi, Lecturer in art education at the Faculty of Specific Education.

German Expert Hails Kidney Transplant Team of Assiut University During the First International Workshop at Assiut University Urology Hospital

In collaboration with the Department of Urology, Martin Luther University, Germany, Assiut University Urology Hospital launched its first international workshop on kidney transplantation. On this occasion, Dr. Paolo Fornara highly esteemed the medical and technical standard of the kidney transplant team of Assiut University Urology Hospital, and commended the medical distinction of its members. He also expressed his gratitude for the invitation to have him participate in this first workshop, and wished for more cooperation between the two universities in the field of Kidney Transplants.

Signing a protocol of cooperation between the Assiut University and Misr El-Kheir Foundation

Prof. Dr. Shehata Ghareeb Shalkami, Vice President of Assiut University for Education and Students Affairs, stressed the importance of the University to perform its role of community service. This came during the signing of a protocol with the Misr El-Kheir Foundation, which is represented by Mohamed Faraj Sayed, director of the office of Misr El-Kheir Foundation in Assiut. He pointed out that the protocol aims at consolidating the idea of volunteering and helping the poor through providing the university with the necessary support and allowing the Foundation to carry out a number of charitable activities with the help of university students within the campus, facilitate and overcome all obstacles facing the institution within the university.

Assiut University hosts the second annual conference of the Department of Gastroenterology and Liver at Police Hospital

Prof. Dr. Shehata Ghareeb Shalkami, Vice President of Assiut University for Education and Students Affairs, stressed on the keenness of the University to carry out its developmental and societal role in all fields, especially in the medical sector, namely, university hospitals, which is the largest medical system in Egypt, and which enjoys a distinguished position and capacity among university hospitals all over the Republic. This came during his participation in the opening of the proceedings of the second scientific conference, entitiled "The latest recommendations in the global diseases of the digestive system and liver," which was held by the Department of Gastrointestinal and Liver Diseases at the Police Hospital in Assiut in conjunction with the Egyptian Society for the study of the diseases of the liver and digestive system as well as Upper Egypt Institution for the digestive system, liver and binoculars.

The Italian-Egyptian project of the archaeological area of Manqabad in Assiut and the restoration of the ancient archaeological town in an educational symposium at Assiut University

Today, Assiut Univerity witnessed the launching of the proceedings of its educational seminar, entitled "The Egyptian Italian Project for the Ancient Manqabad Town in Assiut and the Revival of the Ancient Archaeological City,” which was organized by the University under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Tarek El Gammal, President of Assiut University and in the presence of Prof. Dr, Shehata Ghareeb, Vice-President for Education and Student Affairs; Dr. Rosana Berle, Acting-President of the Italian University of Naples and Head of the Italian Mission in Manqabad; and a large crowd of university students. Dr. Ezzat Habib pointed out that the objective of today's symposium is to exhibit the Coptic monuments and Coptic and Islamic museums in Manqabad town and the popularity of the town in the pottery industry, dating back to the 5 A.D. He also stated that this symposium is a call for people to take care of the monuments and museums that were discovered and restored to preserve their cultural and aesthetic form.

Assiut University President announces the signing of a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the field of engineering between the University and Imam Abdul Rahman bin Faisal University in Saudi Arabia

Assiut University President, Prof. Tarek El Gammal, announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding for scientific and cultural cooperation between the Faculty of Engineering at the University and the College of Architecture and Planning at Imam Abdul Rahman bin Faisal University in Saudi Arabia. This memorandum, which is to last for a period of five year (to be renewed), was approved by University Council. He pointed out that this memorandum comes within the framework of the two universities' keenness to establish a joint cooperation between them. This cooperation represents a fundamental pillar for building cooperation ties in various scientific, educational and cultural fields, research fields, training programs, exchange of experience and knowledge, and development of future programs between the two institutions.

Assiut university President Attends the Opening of the ENT Operations Division at the Main University Hospital

While inaugurating the ENT operations division at the Main University Hospital after renewal and development, Prof. Tarek El-Gammal, Assiut University President asserted that the university is always in frequent fervor to develop the medical and health services to about 2 million patients. The division includes 5 rooms for ENT surgeries including critical cases, injuries and accidents, as well as advanced surgeries such as cochlear implantation which marks the distinction of Assiut University. The division also includes a recovery room, two rooms for surgeons, and a room for head nurses. The University has covered the total cost of the development which reached about 4 million Egyptian pounds.

Prof. Shehata Ghareeb, Assiut University Vice President for Education and Students Affairs, met Yufu Kazawa, Director of the Japan Foundation Cairo Office, to discuss means cooperation and joint work between Assiut University and the Japan Foundation. On his first visit to Assiut University, Mr. Kazawa expressed his pleasure and asserted that the Foundation has been keen on participation with the Faculty of Fine Arts in all of its activities since its inauguration and the attendance of the Japanese Ambassador in 2016.
