South Egypt Cancer Institute: Dean Receives a Delegation from the Second Evangelical Church in Assiut

Prof. Mustafa Al-Sharqawi, Dean of the South Egypt Cancer Institute, Assiut University received a delegation representing the second Evangelical Church in Assiut. The delegation included Rev. Dr. Reda, Canon of the Second Evangelical Church in Assiut. The Dean indicated that the visit is part of the community participation between the Institute and the Second Evangelical Church. He also indicated that the visit aims at widening the means and methods of community participation to add more public figures to the board of cancer patients' friends and improving the standard of service.

Al Rajhi Hospital for Liver Continues Distinction in liver Transplant Surgeries in Upper Egypt

Prof. Ahmed A Gaeis, President of Assiut University stated that the Hospital asserts its distinction in liver transplant surgeries as noted lately by two more transplants to increase the number of liver transplants done to 100% successful seven transplants within less than two years. Al-Azhar Scholars Visit South Egypt Cancer Institute, Assiut University

Prof. Mustafa El Sharqawy Dean of the Southern Egypt Cancer Institute, Assiut University, received a delegation from Al-Azhar including Dr. Khalaf Ammar, General Director of Preaching and Guidance, Assiut Region, Sheikh Sayed Abdul-Aziz, General Secretary of the Egyptian Family House, Assiut. The Meeting was also attended by Mr. Yassin Thabet, General Secretary of the board of cancer patients' friends. Dr. Sharqawy indicated that the visit is part of community participation between the Institute and Al-Azhar and it aims at expanding community participation circle to add more public figures to the board and support the Institute in the development and improving the medical service provided to cancer patients in Upper Egypt.

Assiut University Hospital Receives A Dialysis Unit

Prof. Ahmed A. Gaeis, President of Assiut University, announced the receipt of a Dialysis Unit as a gift from Nasser Social Bank. This Dialysis Unit, valued at LE. 145000 (a hundred forty five Thousand Egyptian Pounds), was given by the Bank in recognition of the distinguished services provided by the university hospital to the millions of patients from various Upper Egyptian provinces. The unit was installed at the Artificial Kidney Unit in the Main University Hospital.

On the occasion of the presidential initiative concerning the year 2016 the Year of Youth, Assiut University ended the Youth Forum: "With the Power of its Youth .... Long Live Egypt" The occasion was held under the auspices of Prof. Ahmed A. Assiut University Signs a Memorandum of Understanding for Academic Exchange With the Korean University for Technology and Education

Assiut University President, Prof. Ahmed A. Gaeis, indicated that he has signed a memorandum of understanding for academic exchange between Assiut University and Korean University for Technology and Education. Both parties approved to commence the project: "Supporting educational and research capacity in the advanced technology of the Faculty of Engineering, Assiut University." The project is intended to be managed by the Korean National Association for Search. With this project. Assiut University asserts its keenness on the development of scientific research and technological capabilities to cope with modern advancements in information technology and qualifying its cadres in the various fields.

Abdominal Cancerous Tumor Weighing 38 Kg Removed From an Elderly
Female Patient in South Egypt Cancer Institute, Assiut University

Prof. Mustafa El-Sharqawi, Dean of the South Egypt Cancer Institute announced the success of the medical team in the removal of a cancerous tumor weighing 38 kg from the abdomen of an elderly patient suffering from severe abdominal pain and chronic constipation for three months. Besides, this woman could not move normally and until after medical exam and CT scans to show that a large abdominal tumor was there.

A Technical Support and Follow-Up Team from the Ministry of
Higher Education Visits Assiut University Labs

Prof. Ahmed A. Gaeis, President of Assiut University states that the University has received the technical team delegated from the Projects Administration Unit, Ministry of Higher Education. This visit is part of the distinctive paces of achievements done for the development of the University Labs and qualifying them for accreditation. In this concern, Assiut University ranks on top of the Egyptian Universities by winning the number of 21 projects for the development of the University Labs with total funds reaching 32 Million Pounds, of which the Ministry of Higher Education sponsored an amount of 19 Million Pounds. He also added that the projects specified for developing the Labs in the Medical sector reached 14 projects; a matter that proves the keenness of the university on developing its medical services in all specialties and provide the likelihood of the services provided in advanced world hospitals.

Assiut University Announces the Application of the Nano-Knife For the First Time in Upper Egypt in the South Egypt Cancer Institute

Prof. Ahmed A. Gaeis. President of Assiut University announced the commencement of application of the Nano-Knife technique this current month for the treatment of South Egypt Cancer Institute patients. This technique is now applicable at the Nano-Knife Unit which was established and prepared with costs of an amount of 2 million pounds. This assures the university's concern to develop the medical service provided at its different hospitals in all various specialties
