Local Development Minister, Governors of Assiut and Luxor, and Presidents of Upper Egyptian Universities in a Formal Meeting in the Fifth Annual Conference held by the Society for Integrated Medicine and Insomnia

HE. Minister of Local Development Dr. Ahmed Zaki Badr, asserted the significance of the medical file and the distinguished medical cadres available in Egypt in all fields to provide more advancements in the medical services at all government hospitals. Dr. Badr indicated that medical conferences are important for providing opportunities for young physicians to be acquainted with the state-of-the-art knowledge in medical specialties and benefit from the experiences of professors participating in the conference. The proceedings of the official session of the conference held in Luxor and was attended by Eng. Yasser Al-Desouqi, Governor of Assiut, Dr. Mohamed Badr, Governor of Luxor, Dr. Ahmed Gaeis, Assiut University President, Dr. Abbas Mansour, South Valley University President, and Dr. Khaled Ismail, Fayoum University President

In Collaboration With Biomass International Corporation Assiut University Launches A Huge Project In The Field of Green Energy

Dr. Ahmed A. Gaeis stated that the university is on the verge of preparation for the commencement of a huge project; first of its kind in Egypt, in the field of green energy. The project will be implemented in collaboration with the Biomass International Corporation. The project aims at recycling agricultural residues and reusing them in the industrialization of some products. Total costs of the project will be expected to reach two million pound.

Ambassador of Paraguay Touring Around Assiut University Campus

p align="center"> HE Ambassador of Paraguay has made a tour inside the Assiut University campus during his visit to the university to discuss means of academic and cultural cooperation between Assiut University and Paraguayan Universities. The visit of the Ambassador and his delegation started with the Biological Molecular Unit, Faculty of Agriculture, Vet. Medicine and finally to the university hospital.

Assiut University Signs a Memo of Understanding with Yemeni Zamar University

Dr. Ahmed A. Gaeis, President of Assiut University announced the approval of the University Council on Signing a memorandum of understanding between Assiut University and Yemeni Zamar University. The memo included all various fields of academic, cultural, and research fields. The memo also included cooperation and exchange of expertise between the two universities. The president assured that this memo is part of the university's concern to keep and enhance academic and research relationships with Arab and foreign universities.

Assiut University Wins the First Rank in the Eighteenth Innovation Forum Held at South Valley University

Dr. Mansour Al-Mansi, Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts stated that student Riham Ahmed Abdul-Salam, Faculty of Specific Education, has won the first rank in artistic innovation for her article: "Arts of Tally Garments in Assiut Province: Contemporary Challenges and the Assertion of Nationalist Identity." Riham participated with this paper in the Eighteenth Innovation Forum organized by South Valley University from 5-9 November 2016 in collaboration with the Arab Council for Training Arab Universities Students. The Forum aims at offering opportunities for students to present their various ideas and innovations to contribute to the solutions of problems facing Arab communities.

The University President has formerly met with the representatives of the Regional Office, Canadian Centre for International Development Research, Middle East and North Africa. The visit aimed at discussing means of cooperation and support for research projects in the field of social and economic development.

Japanese Institution in Hospitality of the Faculty of Fine Arts, Assiut University

Dr. Mansour Al-Mansi, Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts, met Mr. Satushi Kawakita, Coordinator of the Programs of the Japanese Institution, Cairo. The visit was concerned with the preparations for holding the first Fair for traditional Japanese crafts in Upper Egypt. Dr. Mansi stated that the fair is the first artistic activity of the faculty to take place from Dec.18, 2016 to Jan.05, 2017.
