Assiut University Calls for Promoting Domestic Tourism

The Assiut University Unit for Tourist Promotion, affiliated to the Administration of Social and Tourist Activity, in collaboration with the National Organization for Tourist Promotion in Assiut presented a movie entitled as "Tour, See and Know Your Country," (Touf we Shouf). The movie included a show of previous tours arranged by the university to a number of tourist places, Three Islamic Stores at Quisariya region; the place which was once the capital of Islamic Trade. Also, the documentary included a tour to Al-Magzoub region and some monasteries such as Al Moharraq Monastery, Qusia, and Virgin Mary Monastery, Doronka. It also showed some pharaohnic archaeological areas such as the tombs of Ezbat Yousuf, Badary, and the Umayyad Mosque known as the Big Mosque.

Soheir Al-Morshedy and Tariq Desouki Attend the Launching of Fine Arts Competition Assiut University Students

Artists Tariq Al-Desouki and Soheir Al-Morshedy inaugurated the Fine Arts Competition among the University Faculties. The competition is organized by the general administration for youth care and lasts until Dec. 15, 2016. This competition aims at encouraging students to participate in the various activities to widen their awareness of the culture of their society, and develop the spirit of tolerance and cooperation to have a better vision of their country without prejudice or discrimination.

Assiut University PhD Dissertation on the Results of Transplanting Stem Cells in Children's Malignant Blood Tumors and their Side Effects on the Thyroid Gland

Dr. Mostafa Al-Sharkawi, Dean of the Assiut University South Egypt Cancer Institute, stated that the Institute witnessed the presentation of the results reached by Physician Ahmed Abdel-Wahab, Assistant Lecturer of Children's Cancer, in his PhD. Dissertation. The dissertation handled the most important results of the transplantation of stem cells in cases of children with blood malignant tumors. the research aimed at studying the death rates related, risk factors, and the side effects of the transplantation on the thyroid gland considering that this is one of the most important complications that has not been studied before.

With A Variety Of Activities, Training Sessions, And Artistic Performances, Assiut University Concludes The 16-Day-Campaign Against Gender Violence

Assiut University launched the final activities and proceedings of the last day of 16-day-campaign opposing violence against women which started on the 25 of November 2016 for ten successive days coinciding with the National Day for Eliminating Violence against women. On this occasion, Prof. Essam Zanati, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs indicated that the campaign was organized by the National Council for Women in collaboration with the University's Unit Against Harassment. This campaign was also empowered by the participation of several other societies such as: International PLAN, UN, UNPF, and Dream for Human Resources, and Project Management.

With The Renewal Of Its License for Another Year, Assiut University Urology Hospital Continues Its Successful Kidney Transplants

Prof. Tarek A. Al-Gammal, Assiut University Vice President of Assiut University for Graduate Studies and Research and Chairman of the University Hospitals Board stated that Urinary Tracts and Kidney Surgeries Hospital has had its license renewed by from the Supreme Committee for Organ Transplants, affiliated to the Ministers Council to continue its Kidney transplant surgeries. On his part, Prof. Hisham Mokhtar Hammouda, Director of the Urology Hospital and the Kidney Transplant Program confirmed that the renewal of the license is a new testament and an accreditation certificate for the quality and distinction of the program. He also added that this success is an outcome and reflection of the hard and distinguished work of the team to provide medical service to kidney failure patients in Upper Egypt according to the most meticulous medical and professional measures.

Under the auspices of Prof. Ahmed A. Gaeis, Assiut University President, a student delegation from the Russian University of Pyatigorsk made a tour visit to the Virgin Mary Monastery, on Doronka Mount, Assiut City. Dr. Salah Abu Hawa, Coordinator of the Assiut University of Assiut relations with Russian Universities and Director of the Russian language Center stated that the Russian students have arrived in a program to study Arabic and Islamic Culture in Assiut University.

Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Assiut University holds a Conference on Livestock Development and the Safety of Food Safety

Under the auspices of Prof. Ahmed A. Gaeis, Assiut University president, and in the presence of Prof. Tarek A. Al-Gammal, Vice president for Graduate Studies and Research, and a host of University professors and Faculty members and assistants from Egyptian and Arab universities, the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Assiut University held its 17th Scientific Conference. The conference has emphasized the vital role of livestock, fish, and poultry in raising the national economy. Prof. Al-Gammal assured the University's awareness to focus on the obstacle the country confronts in order to work seriously to find solutions for the problems and crises via discussions and exchange of scientific views to assist decisions makers by effective and significant conclusions and recommendations.

Assiut University Holds A Scientific Symposium Entitled: Gastrointestinal Tract Micro-biota in Health and Illness

In collaboration with The Egyptian Micro-Biota Society, the department of Tropical Medicine and Gastroenterology, Faculty of Medicine, Assiut University organized a scientific symposium entitled "Gastrointestinal Tract Micro-biota in Health and Illness: A promising Scientific Revolution." The goal of the symposium was to shed light on the Micro-biota; "microbes and bacteria" that live in the digestive tract and their relationship to health and illness.
