Assiut University President Announces: The ISO 9001 Certificate for the Administrative System of the University Renewed for the Coming Year

Prof. Ahmed A. Gaeis, Assiut University President stated that the authority which had granted the ISO 9001 Certificate for the University's Administrative System has finished all the external revisions. It found out that the university's administrative system has shown very strict commitment to the standards and measures of the ISO 9001 and the followed the continuous development and improvement plans approved by the University Council. Thereupon, the authority, on 29th November 2016, recommends Head Office in Britain to grant a renewal of the certificate for another year.

Proceeding of the 16-Day- Campaign Opposing Violence against Women in Assiut University

Under the auspices of Dr. Ahmed A. Gaeis, president of Assiut University, and the participation of a number of official and faculty members of the university, Prof. Essam Zanaty, Vice President of Assiut University for Education and Student Affairs, inaugurated the 16-day-campaign to oppose violence against women. The campaign was organized by National Council for Women in collaboration with the Unit for Opposing Harassment in the University.

In His International Students Follow-up Visit, Assiut University President Meets Educational Officials in the Malaysian Embassy

Prof. Ahmed A. Gaeis, Assiut University President held an exclusively prolonged meeting with Dr. Mohammed Radhy, Educational Deputy, Malaysian Embassy in Cairo and Dr Ahmed Beheiry Ben Nawawy, Second Secretary for Education Affairs to discuss the advancement of Malaysian students who study Medicine and Dentistry at Assiut University. The president discussed a number of issues including holding Arabic lectures by specialists from the Faculty of Arts, and determining the period of internship of Medical students in compliance with the Malaysian Laws for the benefit of the students.

Assiut University Athletic Marathon Launch: Walk to Prevent the Spread of Diabetes

The Unit for Endocrinology, Faculty of Medicine, in collaboration with the Faculty of Physical Education, Assiut University, arranged for an event including a marathon for jogging and walking. The event was entitled: "Walking to prevent the spread of diabetes," with an aim to raise awareness of diabetes and reduce its spread. Dr. Ahmed Salah Qurraah, Dean of the Faculty of Physical Education asserted that the marathon, like all sports activities, is extremely significant for human health. More than 300 students participated in the marathon.

Assiut University Technology Transfer Unit Innovators Design a Machine for Collecting the Seeds of jojoba plant

A team of engineers affiliated to the Assiut University Technology Transfer Unit including Engineer Mohammed Eid, Director of Research and Development and Engineer Ahmed Nageeb, managed to invent a machine for collecting the seeds of Jojoba plant (Green Gold). The team worked under the auspices of Prof. Ahmed A. Gaeis, University President, Prof. Tarek Al-Gammal, Vice President for Research and Graduate Studies, Dr. Wael M. Khairalla, Director of the Unit, and Dr. Magda Mahmoud, Director of E-learning. The invention assures the role of the University in sponsoring inventions and scientific projects that enhance the economy and the advancement of the country.

South Egypt Cancer Institute Signs a Memo of Understanding with the Centre for Pharmaceutical Vigilance to Monitor Adverse Effects of Medications

Dr. Mostafa Al-Sharqwi, Dean of the South Egypt Cancer Institute,Stated that the University Council, headed by Dr. Ahmed A. Gaeis, university president, approved and signed a memo of joint academic understanding with the Centre for Pharmaceutical Vigilance, Sohag branch, to monitor the adverse effects of medications. Both parties have shown desire for cooperation and elevating the pharmaceutical sciences in Egypt according the keenness of the Ministry of Health on updating and exchanging information for the security and safety of the use of medications and pharmaceutical products.
