With participation of 6 Scientists from India and more than 30 Trainee Physicians from various parts of the country, Assiut University concludes the proceedings of the Advanced medical Program for the recreation of Injury cases

Department of Orthopedics, Faculty of Medicine honors the University President, Vice President, the Pioneers of Orthopedics, and the Members of the Egyptian Orthopedics Society

In its April Session, Assiut University Council, headed by Prof. Ahmed A. Gaeis expressed the members' congratulations to Prof. Atef Abul-Wafa, Prof. of Crops and ex-Dean of the Sugar Technology Institute on the occasion of his appointment as Vice President for the New Valley Regional Campus and wished him all success in his mission to develop the University's Branch.

In its session headed today by Prof. Ahmed A. Gaeis, Assiut University Council honored Mr. Mahmoud Shaker, the university Secretary General and Prime Deputy of the Ministry, on the occasion of his retirement. In honor of this occasion, the council offered Mr. Shaker the University Coat of Arms and a Certificate of Recognition.

The medical team assured that the patient's case is now stable and she was discharged in good condition. The team included Dr. Mahmoud Mostafa, Dr Mohamed Ali, and the anesthetic team included Dr. Khaled Faris, Dr. Mohamed Gamal, and Dr. Mohamed Farghaly.

Heading his Korean delegate, the South Korean Ambassador in Cairo ended his visit to Assiut University by a tour to follow up the project of Koreatech with the Faculty of Engineering. The guests were accompanied by Prof. Gamal Abuzeid, Acting Dean of the Faculty, and Prof. Usama Sayed, Vice-Dean for Graduate Studies and Research, and the Egyptian Project Director.

The proceedings of the first student conference, Faculty of Pharmacy were attended by Department Chairpersons and a large number of faculty members, in addition to an effective presence of more than 600 students.

Dr. Hisham Al-Kadi, Head of the Endoscopy and Sports Injuries Unit, Assiut University Hospital, stated that the unit has organized the sixth annual program of laparoscopy and joint ligament surgery. The program was scheduled April 26 – 27, under the auspices of Dr. Ahmed A. Gaeis, Assiut University President.

Prof. Ahmed A. Gaeis, Assiut University President met Mr. Chung Kwang-kyun, South Korean Ambassador who arrives in a visit to the University with a delegation from the Embassy. Regarding future cooperation with Assiut University, the South Korean Ambassador stated that the Korean government is ready to offer scholarships to Assiut University graduate and undergraduate students, and provide training opportunities and workshops in a number of fields. Besides, he indicated that arrangements will be made for teaching Korean Language to university students and whoever interested  in the community.

Prof. Ahmed A. Gaeis, President of Assiut University, stressed the depth of the relations between Assiut University and Russian Universities. He stated that it is one of the strongest international relations established by the university and it has been effective for about 20 years now. The best proof for this strength appears in the number of agreements through which Assiut University received more than 500 students from various Russian Universities and sending about 9 student delegates to Russian Universities to be acquainted with the Russian culture and civilization.
