Symposium on the Japanese Educational System: First Japanese School to be Established in Upper Egypt in the New Assiut City

In collaboration with the Japanese Embassy, the Faculty of Education, Assiut University has organized a symposium on "the Japanese Educational System." The symposium was held during the visit of a Japanese delegation including officials representing the Centre for media and culture together with a group of Professors from Kyushu University to present the Japanese experiment in the field of education. On this occasion, Assiut Governorate has announced the establishment of the first Japanese school in Upper Egypt to start next year in the New Assiut City. This initiative will be an attempt for increased cooperation and partnership between the two parties for the sake elevating the standard of education to cope with the best international systems.

Chief United Nations Nuclear Energy Expert Attends a Scientific Symposium at Assiut University

Dr. Hassan Abdel Hamid, Director of the Centre for South Valley Development, Assiut University, stated that the university will host Dr. Yosry Abu Shady, the chief nuclear energy expert at the United Nations, to give a lecture at a scientific symposium on "The Importance of Clean Nuclear and Renewable Energy in Egypt and the Arab Region." The symposium will be held under the auspices of Prof. Ahmed A. Gaeis, Assiut University President, in the Octagonal Auditorium on Monday March 27, 2017.

Assiut University President Opens the First Clinical Laboratory in Upper Egypt for Intravenous Feeding in Assiut University Pediatric Hospital

With a total of cost of more than a million Egyptian Pounds, Assiut University President, Prof. Ahmed A. Gaeis opens the first Clinical Lab in Upper Egypt at the Pediatric Hospital for intravenous feeding. Prof. Zeinab Mohieldeen, Hospital Director, indicated that the establishment of the unit has been in collaboration with "Misr El-Kheir" Foundation and the donations of some university professors, businessmen, and other benevolent people. On his part, Dr. Osama Al-Asheiry, Unit Director, stated that this new unit tends to facilitate the feeding of premature newborn babies, critical cases in the intensive care, and cases of inability for natural feeding.

Assiut University Holds an Environmental Forum on Genetic -Engineering-Processed Food: Merits and Demerits

The Center for Environmental Studies and Research, Assiut University holds an environmental forum on "Genetic-Engineering-Processed Food: Its Merits and Demerits." Dr. Thabet Abdul Moneim, Director of the Center indicated that the forum aims at recognizing the type of food processed via genetic engineering, its merits and demerits, and how to handle this type of food, particularly as it has largely spread worldwide. The forum will also give examples of food types and their effect on man and the environment.

Assiut University President Calls Upon Institutions and Individuals to Bear Their Responsibility in Supporting Children With Special Needs

After his visit to Centre for Special Education of the mentally and physically handicapped, affiliated to the Women's Association, Assiut University, Prof. Ahmed A. Gaeis, Assiut University President, assured the importance of collaboration and coordination of efforts exerted to support first priorities of the needy and children of special needs of course come on top of these categories. The president also esteemed the humanitarian effort done by the Centre for Special Education of the mentally and physically handicapped, affiliated to the Women's Association, Assiut University, which provides specific services to about 70 children aging 4 years and above, with varying disabilities such as: cerebral palsy, dementia, autism and mental retardation.

Synchronizing with the Announcement of HE the President of the Republic considering the year 2017 as the year for Egyptian women, Prof. Ahmed A. Gaeis, Assiut University President led a student march to celebrate the year of the Egyptian woman. The event was part of the inauguration proceedings of the 36th scouting round organized by the administration of scouting and public service affiliated to the general administration of youth from March 10 -16.
