Luxor Governor Esteems the Role of Assiut University in Encouraging Tourism in Luxor

In his speech during the opening proceedings of the 6th scientific conference of the Faculty of Education, Assiut University, Process of the Teachers' Formation: Challenges and the Development Policies," H.E. Dr Mohamed Badr, Governor of Luxor, hailed the tendency of Assiut University in activating domestic tourism in Luxor Governorate. He also praised the university's keenness on holding its numerous conferences and scientific activities in Luxor. He expressed his indebtedness to Assiut University President, Prof. Ahmed A. Gaeis and the University's Administration and referred to the importance of these activities in attracting the attention of the Media to emphasize the significance of Luxor and its distinction by its possession of one third of World's monuments. Dr. Badr also added that Luxor regularly hosts delegations of Assiut University international students from Arab and foreign countries.

In Conclusion of its International Conference on the Sustainable Development in Africa, Assiut University Launches a Scientific Geological Trip

In conclusion of the proceedings of its international conference on the sustainable development in Africa, Assiut University launched a scientific geological trip to Al-Quseir city, Red Sea Governorate. The journey was organized by Centre for South Valley Development, Assiut University. Dr. Hassan Abdel Hameed, Director of the Center and Chairman of the conference stated that the trip aims at proving an opportunity for the participants to be acquainted with the distinctive geological and archaeological aspects in the Red Sea region and specially to identify the oily clay existing there.

Governor of Assiut, the University President, and Eminent Chest Physicians Open the Annual Conference of the Department of Chest Diseases on the Frequent Questions in Pulmonary Medicine

Engineer Yasser El-Desouky, Governor of Assiut asserted the Governorate's activation of the joint protocol of cooperation between Assiut University Hospitals represented by the Chest Department and the Ministry of Health for the development of the Chest Hospital with an average cost exceeding one million and a half million Egyptian Pounds. This protocol tends to benefit from the academic expertise and medical potentials of the university for the sake of chest patients. The Governor's announcement of the protocol was indicated in his speech during the opening session of the fifth annual conference organized by the Department of Chest Diseases, Faculty of Medicine, Assiut University on the "Frequently Asked Questions in Pulmonary Medicine," from 8 -11 March.

In Their International Conference on the Sustainable Development in Africa Assiut University Scientists Declare the Validity of the Clay in the Palm Valley, Red Sea as a Non-traditional Source of Energy

On the second day of the International Conference on the Oily Clay and the non-traditional sources of energy for the sustainable development in Africa, held in Al-Quseir City, Red Sea Governorate and organized by the Centre for South Valley Development, Assiut University, a paper was submitted by a group of Assiut University scientists entitled: "Egyptian Black Clay as a Non-traditional Source of energy." The paper studied the black Egyptian clay at places of its existence in the Western Sahara, the Nile Valley, and Red Coast in order to examine the possibility of its usage as fuel in cement industry and other industries. Researchers have assured, by means of Chemical analyses, the validity of the Clay in the Palm Valley, Red Sea for the purpose.

Assiut University Hosts a Delegation of German Students from Magdeburg University

Prof. Ahmed A. Gaeis, Assiut University President met a delegation of German students from the German Magdeburg University during their visit to the Faculty of Physical Education, Assiut University. The meeting included Prof. Ahmed Salah El-Deen Quraa, Dean of the Faculty of Physical Education and Prof. Shehata Ghareeb, Coordinator of Arab Universities Affairs. Prof. Gaeis stated that the visit takes place within the framework of the agreement held between the Faculties of Physical Education in both universities aiming at joint work and the students' exchange program in addition to holding joint conferences and symposiums.

In Collaboration with Fulbright Commission, Assiut University Announces for Graduate Grants for Studying in the United States

Assiut University began procedures for the Fulbright programs and grants offered to Faculty members and graduate students (teaching assistants and assistant lecturers). Dr. Hussein Al-Kashef indicated that the Fulbright programs and grants fall within cultural and educational exchange between Egypt and the United States as the exchange program provides graduate scholarships and professional programs.

Technological Brooder Hemmah Opens its First Competition: "Hakthon Watering of the South in the Presence of a Number of Young Discoverers

Under the auspices of Prof. Ahmed A. Gaeis, Assiut University President and Eng. Yasser El-Desouky, Governor of Assiut, the competition "Hakthon, Watering of the South," starts on Thursday. Eng. Mohamed Yasine, Director of the Technological Brooder "Hammah," announced the start of the competition organized by the Technology Transfer Unit and is planned to continue for a month. Participants included a number of young innovators and the event was attended by Dr. Wael Khairallah, Director of the Technology Transfer Unit. The competition is the first of its kind in the field of agriculture and environment aiming at the introduction ideas of young discoverers in the fields of food productions and agricultural and environmental solutions to be applied in practical life.

Libya, Algeria, and Kuwait Win the Best Research in the Seventh International Conference for Quality Assurance of Higher Education

p align="center"> The Seventh International Conference for quality assurance in higher education announced three winning research papers out of 87 papers which have been accepted for participation in the proceedings of the conference. Dr. Shehata Ghareeb Sholkamy, General Coordinator of Arab Universities, and chairman of the conference stated that the first winning paper was the paper entitled: "Evaluation of Quality Assurance Efforts in the University of Benghazi to Meeting the Requirements of Some Measurements of Institutional Accreditation According to Faculty Members' Viewpoint." The second winning paper was entitled "Algerian Experiment in Adopting an Entry for Quality Assurance in Higher Education," and the third winning paper was entitled: "Faculty Members' Visualization of the Effectiveness of the Strategic Plan of Kuwait University 2013-2017." Dr. Nedhal Al-Romhey, Deputy General Secretary of the Conference, indicated that all research papers submitted to the conference were refereed electronically and that the winning papers were decided according to the score of five points or more.
