Assiut University President Asserts the University's Support for the Needy Students and Reassures the Priority of Accommodation of Academically Distinguished Students

Dr. Ahmed A. Gaeis, Assiut University President, assured that the university cares for its students and offers all possible scientific and social facilities for about 80 thousands undergraduate students and about 30 thousands graduate students at the various faculties in the main campus and the regional New Valley campus. He also stated that he talked with the deans and officials in-charge to provide all possible means and support for needy students by arranging for charity fairs to offer cheap-priced tools and supplies. As for students' accommodation, the president assured that Assiut University is one of the largest universities and hosts students from farther areas and distances. He said that the number of students who seek accommodation is expected to reach 17 thousands male and female students. The University will definitely offer accommodation for all female students and, for the first time this year, priority of accommodation for male students will consider academically distinguished students, their field of specialty and the distance of students' main residence, not only age criteria.

Assiut University President Heads a Delegation of 148 Students and Supervisors to Participate in the Proceedings of Eleventh Festival of Universities Youth-Week

Immediately after Reaching Menoufia Governorate to participate in the inauguration of the proceedings of the Eleventh Festival of University Students Week-Festival, Dr. Ahmed A. Gaeis, Assiut University President assured that the university provides all means of support for its students to develop their willingness and participations in all students forums and festivals held by the various Egyptian Universities; whether these activities were sports, cultural, or artistic activities. He added that these students' meetings help in the support and development of cooperation and acquaintance and therefore enforce competition; a matter that helps in discovering talents and distinguished individuals in all fields. This statement was made by the president on reaching Menoufia Governorate in participation, with 26 universities, of the occasion of the Eleventh Festival of Universities Youth-Week organized by Menoufia University from 14-19 Sept. 2017, under the auspices of Dr. Khaled Abdel-Ghaffar Minister of Higher Education, and Dr. Moawad Al-Khouly, Menoufia University President.

150 Female Preachers from Al-Awqaf and Churches of Assiut and Sohag Participate in the Program for Raising Awareness Entitled: Together for the Service of the Nation

Under the auspices of Dr. Ahmed A. Gaeis, Assiut University President, the University hosted the proceedings of a training program for raising national awareness from 13-14 September 2017. The program was organized by the National Council for Women (NCW) in collaboration with the Centre for Studies and Research on Human Rights. Dr. Nabil Samuel, member of the NCW, Ms Sahar Abdel-Mawla, Chair, of NCW Assiut Branch, Isis Mahmoud General Director of Training and Awareness, Christine Fekry, Administrative Coordinator of the University's Anti-Harassment Unit, Journalist Nashwa Al-Houfy, Member of the NCW, and a number Professors and participants have all attended the program which hosted about 150 participants from Assiut and Sohag Governorates. In the opening session, Dr Nabil Samuel asserted that this campaign aims at forming one team of female preachers from Al-Awqaf and Church Nuns to work together and toll the ports to reach women at every small village and town. The purpose is to see women's problems and demands considering that women are the basic sources and partners in building the family and the entire nation.

Assiut University President Condemns the Terrorist Attack at North Sinai and condoles the Martyrs and Calls for Unity to Fight Intellectual terrorism

Dr. Ahmed A. Gaeis, Assiut University President, condemned the terrorist attack which took place yesterday in the Region of Beir Al-Sabaa, North Sinai. The attack which targeted police forces by explosives and armed attack leaving a number of casualties and injuries of others from the police forces.

Assiut University Receives a 250.000 (Two Hundred Fifty Thousand Egyptian Pounds)-Donation from Assiut Governorate In Support of Needy Patients at the South Egypt Cancer Institute

Dr. Ahmed A. Gaeis, Assiut University President, said that the South Egypt cancer Institute has received a generous donation from Assiut Governorate for the sake of treatment of needy cancer patients at the institute. He highly esteemed the efforts of Eng. Yasser Al-Desouky, Assiut Governor, who, the President said, is keen on strengthening the coordination and cooperation with the university in various fields. The president added that the governor pays special attention to Assiut University Medical Sector so that all casual obstacles that negatively affect the medical services be solved.

Assiut University Announces a Number of Academic Vacancies at the Faculties of Physical Education and Fine Arts

Faculty of Physical Education announces vacancies for (1) one female lecturer, major: Sports Injuries at the Department of Sports Hygiene Science. Applicants must yield to all conditions identified by Article (49) 1972 Universities Organizing Law, must have PhD in the required specialty, age must not exceed 45 years on time of applying for the job. Assiut University President Inaugurates Project for Enlarging and Development of The Olympic Village Sectors and a New Rowing Club

Dr. Ahmed A. Gaeis, Assiut University President asserted that the university is keen on providing all facilities for students' activities. The president ensured that these facilities must be diverse so that every individuals from the community can practice a variety of sports. During the opening of the work aimed at renewing and developing the Olympic village, the president gave this announcement as he was accompanied by Dr. Essam Zanati, Vice president for Education and Students Affairs, Dr. Ahmed Salah, Dean of the Faculty of Sports Education, Dr. Mahmoud Abdel-Halim, General Supervisor of the Olympic Village, and Mr. Mahmoud Bakheet, Assiut University Deputy General Secretary. The President added that this is the second opening of the Village which was built by the late University President, Dr. Mohamed Raafat Mahmoud eynchronizing with the festivals the university held while hosting the Week Celebration of the Universities Youth.
