Assiut University Signs a Memo of Understanding for Scientific Exchange with Queensland University, Australia

Dr. Ahmed A. Gaeis, announced that the Assiut University has signed a memorandum of understanding with Queensland University, Australia for initiating and developing scientific and cultural cooperation between the two university. Dr. Tarek Al-Gammal, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, asserted that the purpose of the memorandum is to organize symposiums, conferences, and workshops. In addition, there will be mutual exchange of expertise and visits of students and faculty members of the two universities.

In Conclusion of the Egyptian-Austrian Cultural Day, the Austrian Ambassador Visits the Monastery of Virgin Mary, Dronka

On his visit to the Monastery of Virgin Mary, located on the Dronka Mount, Dr. Georg Stillfried, Ambassador of Austria, asserted that Assiut Governorate is known for its numerous religious tourist regions which indicate its cultural distinction and the Egyptian long history extending to thousands of years. The Ambassador was accompanied by a delegation from the Austrian Embassy in Cairo, including Ms Orlika Noyan, Deputy Minister, Vice Chair of the Diplomatic Mission, and Director of the Austrian Cultural Center. The visit took place at the end of the proceedings of the Egyptian-Austrian Cultural Day organized by Assiut University and the Austrian Embassy.

In the opening proceedings of the Ninth International Conference on the Geology of Africa, Assiut University Assures its Developmental and Educational Responsibility Towards Africa

On Tuesday, Assiut University inaugurated the proceedings of the 9th International Conference on "The Geology of Africa." The conference was organized by the Department of Geology, Faculty of Science from 7-9 Nov. 2017. Participants included more than 150 in number, from several Arab and African countries such as Nigeria, Ethiopia, South Africa, Sudan, Cameron, Senegal, Libya, Algeria, and Egypt. Dr. Nageh Abdul-Rahman, Chairman of the Department of Geology, and Chairman of the Conference, stated that the conference aims at discovering the several treasures of Africa, discussing environmental problems and how to confront them, and finally to sort out recommendations for usage and management of the best sources for sustainable development.

In his meeting with the US Embassy delegation, Dr. Ahmed A. Gaeis, Assiut University President, assured that the university is keen on holding scientific partnership with scientific institutions all over the world in order to enrich scientific research endeavor, create additional opportunities for training and developing students' skills. The US Embassy delegation included Christine Smart, Cultural Attaché Assistant, Rania Al-Sayed, Chief Officer of Cultural Affairs, Yasmine Al-Roweiny, Chief Educational Consultant, and Sara Awad, US Embassy Cultural Affairs Assistant. The delegation visited the university for purpose of offering a number of scholarships from American Universities to graduate and undergraduate students of Assiut University.
