Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, opened on Tuesday, March 25, the opening session of the first simulation of the conference of the states parties to the United Nations Convention Against Corruption for the academic year 2025. This comes within the framework of the University's ongoing efforts to enhance the participation of young people, raise their awareness of the importance of integrity and transparency in building societies, and their role in combating corruption.

 

The model is organized by the education and student affairs sector in cooperation with the Center for future studies, under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed Abdul Mawla, vice president of the University for education and Student Affairs, Dr. Jamal Badr, vice president for graduate studies and research and head of the Center for future studies, and Dr. Mohammed Ahmed Adawi, general supervisor of the model and director of the Center for future studies.

 

The model simulates the working mechanisms of the conference of the states parties to the UN Convention Against Corruption, where students consider the views of states on the novelties of this global issue. The participants were trained by an academic team that included Dr. Madiha Darwish, coordinator of student activities, Dr. Haitham Ibrahim, director of the Central Student Welfare Department, Dr. Abdul Karim Abu leifa, academic supervisor, Dr. Mohammed Nozhi, assistant academic supervisor, and student Mohammed Jameel, head of the model, with the participation of 125 students from the representatives of countries and members of the model.

 

Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, stressed that this model is a distinguished educational experience that enables students to understand major international issues, and enhances their awareness of the importance of integrity and transparency in building societies. He added that the university is keen to support activities that develop enlightened thinking, creativity, and the ability to make decisions, in line with the requirements of the Times.

 

The president of the University explained that corruption is not just a legal or economic issue, but it is a challenge that affects the lives of individuals and communities, hinders development, and weakens trust in institutions. He stressed that combating it requires community awareness, as young people must be ambassadors of integrity, contributing to the promotion of the values of justice and equality.

 

Dr. Mohamed Adawi pointed to the importance of global cooperation in the fight against corruption, explaining that corruption is an organized crime that requires the exchange of experiences and success experiences, preventing the existence of safe havens for corruption networks, recovering looted funds and investing them in development. 

 

The director of the Center for future studies also pointed to the role of the Egyptian state in strengthening international cooperation to combat corruption, and leading many efforts at the global and African levels. He also reviewed the efforts of Assiut University in this field, and highlighted its activities in cooperation with the administrative control authority, within the framework of completing the Egyptian state's March to spread awareness among young people. In conclusion, he thanked the management of the model for their tireless efforts that contributed to achieving this success.

 

Dr. Madiha Darwish praised the University's support for student activities, stressing that these models contribute to preparing students for the labor market, and develop their critical thinking, decision-making, and leadership skills.

 

Dr. Abdulkarim Abu leifa also explained that the model helps students to understand the United Nations Convention Against Corruption and apply its principles.

 

Mohammed Jameel, the head of the model, expressed his pride in launching this unique experience, stressing that it reflects the students ' deep awareness of the importance of integrity and transparency. Student Rana Mohamed, one of the representatives of the model countries, also gave a speech in English, in which she discussed the objectives of the Egyptian National Anti-Corruption Strategy and the role of the UN Convention in promoting international cooperation to achieve justice.

 

It is worth mentioning that an introductory video was shown explaining the steps of the model starting from March, including conducting personal interviews for the applicant students, who numbered about 350 students. The two-day introductory sessions, which dealt with the topics of anti-corruption and the conference of the states parties, were also presented.

 

This model represents a pivotal step in qualifying Assiut University students to be future leaders, able to face global challenges, interact with international issues, and consolidate the values of integrity and transparency in society.

Dr. El-Minshawy honors the winning teams in the Ramadan football tournament at Assiut University

Yesterday evening, Monday, March 24, Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, honored the winning teams in the Ramadan football tournament for faculty members, organized by the Faculty of sports sciences at the University, which was held at the industrial gospel Stadium at the college, and its activities lasted from March 18 to 22, with the participation of 11 teams from various faculties of the university, under the supervision of Dr. Emad Samir, dean of the Faculty of sports sciences, and Dr. Asim saber, head of the Department of curricula and teaching methods of sports education and technical director of the championship.

The closing ceremony was attended by Dr. Ahmed Abdul Mawla, vice president of the University for education and Student Affairs, Dr. Jamal Badr, vice president of the University for graduate studies and research, Dr. Madiha Darwish, general supervisor of student activities, Dr. Hassan Hawil, dean of the Faculty of Education, Dr. Duaib Saber, dean of the Faculty of law and legal adviser to the president of the University, in addition to a number of former deans of colleges, vice deans of Colleges, faculty members and their assistants, and the administrative staff of the college.

Dr. El-Minshawy stressed the University's continuous support for all sports activities, pointing out that sports play an important role in preparing a physically and psychologically healthy generation, qualified to participate in local and international competitions. He also noted the importance of sports in promoting sportsmanship and developing leadership and social communication skills for students.

At the end of the events, the winning teams were honored with the first three places, where the team of the Faculty of Sports Sciences (2) received the first place, the team of the Faculty of Arts received the second place, while the team of the Faculty of sports sciences (1) received the third place. Dr. El-Minshawy praised the outstanding sports performance and the High Sports spirit of the participating teams.

For his side, Dr. Emad Samir expressed his thanks to the university administration for its continuous support and sponsorship of sports activities, pointing out that the tournament witnessed the participation of 11 teams from various faculties such as education, specific education, commerce, law, arts, agriculture, sugar industry technology and integrated industries, and social service. The deans of the participating faculties as well as the general supervisor of student activities were also honored.

Assiut University Announces the Final List of Candidates for the Position of Dean of the Faculty of Nursing.

Assiut University's nomination committee, headed by Assiut University President Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, announced the final list of applicants for the position of dean of the Faculty of Nursing, according to the order of precedence.

The final list of candidates included: Dr. Fatma Rushdy Mohamed Ali, professor at the Department of Nursing Administration and Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, and Dr. Nahed Shawkat Abulmagd Abdel-Aal, professor at the Department of Nursing Administration and Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development.

  Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, participated in the annual Iftar ceremony for international students, which was attended by Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of higher education and scientific research, along with a number of university presidents, ambassadors, cultural advisers, ministry leaders, media professionals, and international students of various nationalities.

Dr. El-Minshawy expressed his happiness to participate in this event, which reflects the Egyptian state's interest in enhancing its role as a distinguished educational destination for expatriate students, pointing out that Assiut University pays special attention to supporting expatriate students and providing them with the best academic and Administrative Services, which contributes to developing their skills and preparing them to keep pace with the requirements of the labor market.

The president of Assiut University stressed that the university is working according to a clear strategic vision (2024-2029) in line with the national strategy for higher education, through which it seeks to achieve sustainable development goals and provide a developed educational environment that integrates modern disciplines and Inter-curricular programs.

  For his side, Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of higher education and scientific research, stressed during his speech that the file of attracting international students is a priority in the ministry's work plan, in order to enhance Egypt's role as an attractive destination for international students, pointing out that the state is working according to an ambitious plan aimed at making Egypt a unique educational destination in the field of higher education and scientific research.

The minister pointed to the great development carried out by the ministry to improve the system of services for expatriate students, by facilitating the application and registration procedures via the "study in Egypt" platform, and continuing to provide the best educational opportunities for them, ensuring that they receive an integrated academic experience.

Dr. Ayman Ashour also highlighted the diversity of higher education institutions in Egypt, the provision of modern inter-study programs that qualify students for the requirements of the labor market, in addition to partnerships with prestigious international universities to grant dual degrees in modern specialties. He stressed the interest of Egyptian universities in cultural, sports and tourism activities, which contributes to the creation of a rich educational environment at all levels, pointing out that international students are ambassadors for their country and represent Egypt's soft power.

  Dr. Ayman Farid stressed the keenness of the Cultural Affairs and missions sector to provide a distinguished educational environment and modern study programs that meet the needs of the labor market, explaining that the increasing number of international students reflects the development of the higher education system in Egypt, which includes the modernization of study programs, the establishment of new universities, and the provision of multiple options for study between public, private, national and technological universities and branches of foreign universities, which contributes to the activation of educational tourism. He also pointed out that the "study in Egypt" initiative aims to facilitate the application procedures and promote Egyptian universities globally through international partnerships, educational exhibitions, and virtual meetings to introduce foreign students to study opportunities in Egypt.

Both Dr. Ayman Ashour and Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy were keen to take commemorative photos with the expatriate students, and held a friendly dialogue with them to check the level of services provided to them at Egyptian universities.

The ceremony was attended by Dr. Amr Sayed, Faculty of sports sciences and director of the Office of international students at Assiut University, along with a number of international students from Palestine and Kuwait, who expressed their appreciation for the academic, administrative and cultural support provided by Assiut University to enhance their educational experience in Egypt.

The Faculty of law at Assiut University concludes its Ramadan activities with a group iftar party in an atmosphere of intimacy and cohesion

The Faculty of law at Assiut University organized a collective Iftar ceremony on Sunday evening, March 23, at the end of its Ramadan activities, amid an atmosphere of familiarity and communication between students and faculty members. The ceremony was supervised by Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of the University, and supervised and attended by Dr. Ahmed Abdul Mawla, vice president for education and Student Affairs, Dr. Dwaib Hussein Saber, dean of the college, and Dr. Rajab Al-Kahlawi, vice dean for education and student affairs.

The ceremony was also attended by Dr. Madiha Darwish, dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and general supervisor of student activities at the University, Dr. Mohammed Abdul Alim, assistant professor at the Department of history of law and director of the law program in English, Dr. Adel Abdul Rahman, assistant professor at the Department of Islamic law, along with a number of faculty members and staff at the college. The ceremony was organized by Mr. Hossam ElDin Mostafa, director of Public Relations at the College, in cooperation with student Ahmed Essam, president of the College Students ' Union and rapporteur of the "students for Egypt"family.

Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy stressed that Assiut University is keen to provide an integrated educational environment that supports academic development, as well as promoting human and social values among students. He praised the efforts of the Faculty of law in organizing activities that promote the spirit of cooperation and belonging among the members of the university community, and contribute to the preparation of a conscious generation capable of active participation in building the homeland.

For his side, Dr. Ahmed Abdul Mawla explained that the university works according to a collective approach and seeks excellence in various fields, stressing the importance of students ' keenness to learn and acquire skills that qualify them for the labor market.

Dr. Dwaib Hussain Saber also expressed his happiness with the success of the ceremony, stressing that the college pays great attention to encouraging students to combine academic achievement and participate in cultural and social events, because of its great role in building the student's personality and developing his skills.

At the end of the ceremony, the students expressed their happiness with the warm atmosphere that strengthened their sense of family bonding within the university, thanking the University and college administration for its continuous support, which contributes to instilling the values of cooperation and belonging, and motivates them to continue their educational career in a positive spirit.

Assiut University participates in the sixth Arab student forum to prepare leaders at the University of Sharjah

As part of Assiut University's keenness to develop the skills of its students and enhance their leadership abilities, the University participated in the activities of the sixth Arab student forum for preparing leaders, which was held under the slogan "Developing Innovation and Entrepreneurship Skills", organized by the Union of Arab universities in cooperation with the University of Sharjah and the Institute for preparing leaders – Egypt.

The forum witnessed the presence and supervision of a number of prominent academic figures, including Dr. Amr Ezzat Salama, secretary general of the Union of Arab Universities, Dr. Karim Hassan Hammam, advisor to the minister of higher education for student activities and director of the Institute for preparing leaders – Egypt, and Dr. Hamid Majoul Al Nuaimi, president of the University of Sharjah, with the participation of student delegations from 18 Arab countries.

Assiut University was represented at the forum by student Martin Nasser, president of the University Students ' Union, under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed Abdul Mawla, vice president of the University for education and Student Affairs, Dr. Madiha Darwish, general supervisor of student activities, and Dr. Haitham Ibrahim, Director General of student welfare and student unions administration.

For his side, student Martin Nasser, president of Assiut University Students ' Union, expressed his pride in representing the University in this distinguished Arab Forum, praising the role played by the University in supporting its students and providing ways to participate in activities that contribute to the preparation of future leaders.

The forum was held during the period from February 16 to 21, 2025, and included a set of specialized workshops and interactive training sessions that addressed topics such as" leadership skills needed to build character"," entrepreneurship", in addition to Sessions that discussed innovation in space and astronomy Sciences in the Arab World, Sustainability, soft skills and their role in leadership". The events also included scientific visits aimed at enhancing the practical knowledge of the participants.

Dr. El-Minshawy follows up the midterm exams of the second semester of the academic year 2024/2025 at Assiut Al-Ahlia University and emphasizes the support of students and the discipline of the committees

As part of Assiut University's keenness to ensure the smooth running of the educational process, Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University and responsible for conducting business at Assiut Al-Ahliya University, followed the progress of the second midterm exams for the academic year 2024/2025, which are being held at the University's headquarters in the new city of Assiut.

Dr. El-Minshawy pointed out the need for the presence of program managers and faculty members during the examination periods to ensure that the exams comply with academic standards, and provide the necessary support and care for students within the committees, while maintaining the discipline and calm of the committees. He also stressed the speed of completion of Correction work and monitoring grades, to ensure the announcement of results as soon as possible.

In a related context, Dr. Nobi Mohammed Hassan, vice president of Assiut University for Academic Affairs, conducted an inspection tour this morning, Sunday, March 23, to follow up the progress of the exams, accompanied by Dr. Ahmed Allam, director of the financial and Administrative Sciences Program. The tour included the follow-up of the midterm exams for the two business information systems programs, and the study program in English.

Dr. Nobi Hassan praised the discipline of the examination process, which started on March 19 and will continue until March 26, 2025, pointing out that the exams are proceeding according to pre-planned procedures, both in terms of equipping halls and committee venues, or providing a sufficient number of observers and observers from the university staff, in addition to providing the committees with auxiliary services, including security personnel, the medical committee, the legal committee, and service workers.

Assiut University participates in Iftar ceremony and the conclusion of The "her and with her" project at the Coptic Catholic Archdiocese to support women's rights and combat violence

Within the framework of promoting the values of national cohesion and supporting women's rights, Assiut University, under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of the University, participated in the Iftar ceremony and the conclusion of The "her and with her" project, which was held on Saturday, March 22 at the Coptic Catholic Archdiocese of Assiut, where the project came in cooperation with the MA'an Association for development and the eparchial development office, in partnership with the British Embassy in Egypt, with the aim of combating gender-based violence and supporting women within local communities in Assiut Governorate.

The project was implemented under the supervision of Bishop Daniel Lotfi, Bishop of the Coptic Catholic Diocese, Father Matous Adib, director of the diocesan development office, and Mr. Hani Fawzi, executive director of the project, who stressed the importance of joining community and institutional efforts to support women's rights and enhance their role in society.

The ceremony was attended by a number of university leaders, including Dr. Ahmed Abdel-Mawla, vice president for education and Student Affairs, Dr. Mahmoud Abdel-Alim, vice president for community service and Environmental Development, Dr. Marwa Kadwani, rapporteur of the National Council for women, Sheikh Sayed Abdel Aziz, rapporteur of the Egyptian family house, as well as a number of faculty members and administrative leaders in the governorate.

Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy stressed the importance of the project in reducing the phenomenon of violence against women and promoting their rights within society, pointing to the active role of educational institutions such as schools, youth centers and NGOs in spreading awareness and renouncing gender-based violence.

For his side, Dr. Ahmed Abdul Mawla praised the efforts of the project in developing the skills of individuals and institutions, and honoring the volunteer participants who contributed to the implementation of targeted community initiatives. 

Dr. Mahmoud Abdel Alim also explained that the project included multiple activities, including community initiatives, trainings for teachers and NGOs, in addition to discussion seminars for families and youth, which contributed to raising awareness of thousands of people from various categories.

The ceremony concluded with a presentation of the activities and achievements of the project, followed by a singing ceremony and a tribute to the participants, amid an atmosphere of brotherhood and love, before the attendees gathered around the collective breakfast table

Assiut University organizes the "Asmar Scout" festival to promote student activities and cooperation between students

Dr. El-Minshawy: the festival supports communication between students and encourages volunteer work

 

Under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, the university organized the festival "Scouting asmars for tours and tours of the University's faculties" from March 16 to 20, in the Olympic Village, to develop the spirit of cooperation and participation among students. The festival came under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed Abdul Mawla, vice president of the University for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Madiha Darwish, general supervisor of student activities, and Dr. Haitham Ibrahim, Director General of the General Administration of student welfare.

 

  Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy stressed that this festival is an important opportunity to enhance communication between students of different colleges, in addition to motivating them to participate in student activities that are an essential part of the educational process. He also praised the role of mobile activities in consolidating the culture of giving and volunteering and helping students to serve society and the environment, in line with the University's strategy of preparing generations capable of creativity and giving.

 

For his part, Dr. Ahmed Abdulmoula explained that the festival included a range of diverse events, including Scout movements, religious and scout songs, and introductory songs for CLAN members, and the University's team of Rangers participated in summer sessions within the activities of the festival, adding that these activities contribute to building the student's personality and enhance the spirit of participation and interaction in a university environment that stimulates cooperation and creativity.

 

  100 students representing 7 faculties participated in the festival, namely: arts, commerce, law, nursing, early childhood education, social work, and sports science. The results, the Faculty of Social Work won the first place, followed by the Faculty of Arts in second place, and then the Faculty of law in third place.

 

 The festival was organized with the participation of Mr. Mohammed Sayed, director of the Rangers activity department, student Martin Nasser, president of the University Students 'Union, student Salah al-Nadim, vice president of the University Students' Union, student Karim Osama, Secretary of the Rangers Committee, and student Tarek Mustafa, assistant secretary of the Rangers committee. The judging panel also included Mr. Ismail Hashim and Mr. Sharif Abdel Moneim from the Department of Rangers and Public Service.
