Assiut University’s Center for Sustainable Development Launches Training Programs and Strengthens Local and International Partnerships

Assiut University is intensifying its efforts to support sustainable development through a comprehensive training plan launched by the Center for Sustainable Development. The initiative aims to qualify professionals across various fields in alignment with the principles of sustainable development and Egypt’s Vision 2030, while fostering local and international partnerships to achieve inclusive development.

In line with the university’s strategy to promote sustainability concepts, the Center for Sustainable Development has proposed an integrated framework for a series of upcoming training courses designed to enhance the capacities of both university personnel and the wider community in accordance with Egypt’s Vision 2030.

Professor Ahmed El-Minshawy, President of Assiut University, emphasized that the Center serves as a key pillar in supporting sustainable development both locally and internationally. He highlighted the university’s commitment to forging international collaborations aimed at exchanging expertise and implementing projects that improve quality of life and support the green economy.

The statements were made during a meeting chaired by Professor Mahmoud Abdel-Aleem, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and attended by Professor Saleh Mahmoud Ismail, Director of the Center. The meeting discussed the Center’s action plan, which encompasses the implementation of training courses, documentation of sustainable activities, organization of events and workshops, and launching of student initiatives to promote environmental and societal awareness.

Attendees stressed the importance of coordination between the university’s faculties and the Center for Sustainable Development to effectively achieve sustainability goals, as well as the role of international cooperation in drawing on global expertise in environmental, economic, and social domains.

Assiut University’s Faculty of Social Work Organizes “Social Simulation” Workshop to Promote Health Awareness

The Faculty of Social Work at Assiut University organized a workshop titled “Social Simulation for Raising
Health Awareness among Visitors of Assiut University Hospitals
,” aimed at promoting health culture within the community and enhancing the role of social workers in the healthcare field through interactive simulation techniques.

Under the patronage of Professor Ahmed El-Minshawy, President of Assiut University, the workshop was held by the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector at the Faculty of Social Work, under the supervision of Professor Mahmoud Abdel-Aleem, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and Professor Iman Abdel-Aal, Dean of the Faculty. The workshop was attended by a distinguished group of faculty members and students.

The event aimed to enhance health awareness, correct unhealthy dietary habits, and emphasize the importance of early disease detection in support of the University’s sustainability vision.

The workshop featured interactive activities and realistic simulation models that addressed methods of patient interaction and the dissemination of clear and accessible health guidelines. It also included a discussion session with Professor Mahmoud Abdel-Aleem and participating students, focusing on the application of social work principles in the healthcare sector, contributing to raising community awareness and improving quality of life both within and beyond the university.

 

Assiut University’s Faculty of Fine Arts Launches the First Edition of Its Entrepreneurship and Innovative Projects Training Program

Faculty of Fine Arts at Assiut University introduces its inaugural entrepreneurship training program to develop students’ entrepreneurial skills and transform their innovative ideas into feasible projects.

Under the patronage of Professor Ahmed El-Minshawy, President of Assiut University, the Faculty of Fine Arts launched the first edition of its specialized training program in entrepreneurship and innovative projects on March 10. The program will run until March 12 under the supervision of Professor Ahmed Abdel-Mawla, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs.

Professor El-Minshawy emphasized that the program supports a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship among university students, in alignment with Egypt’s Vision 2030. He noted that the initiative aims to equip students with the skills needed to compete in the labor market and contribute to sustainable development.

The program is overseen by Professor Mahmoud Abdel Aleem, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Professor Mohamed Helmy El-Hefnawy, Dean of the Faculty. It is delivered with the participation of several faculty vice deans and academic staff members.

The training includes sessions on establishing start-ups, business model development, design thinking, and intellectual property protection, with contributions from a select group of experts and specialists in innovation and entrepreneurship.

 

Assiut University’s Center for Marketing University Services Continues to Enhance Its Offerings to Strengthen Academic and Community Engagement

Assiut University holds a follow-up meeting at the Center for Marketing University Services to evaluate performance and advance service delivery, ensuring greater alignment with community needs and labor market demands.

Under the patronage of Professor Ahmed El-Minshawy, President of Assiut University, the Center for Marketing University Services convened a meeting to review key performance indicators and explore strategies for service enhancement. The meeting was chaired by Professor Mahmoud Abdel Aleem, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Professor Alaa Abdel Hafeez, Dean of the Faculty of Commerce and Director of the Center.

Professor El-Minshawy emphasized the Center’s vital role in promoting the university’s academic and research expertise to serve the community, noting the adoption of modern technologies to upgrade service delivery.

The meeting addressed website performance metrics, procedures for issuing certified training certificates and determining their fees, as well as the establishment of new regulatory frameworks for training courses. These efforts aim to expand the scope of services offered and support the university’s educational and research mission.

 

Assiut University Upgrades Quiet Study Rooms in Preparation for Phase Two of the Electronic Examination System

Assiut University launches the second phase of its electronic examination project as part of its digital transformation strategy, enhancing technological infrastructure in line with Egypt’s Vision 2030.

Professor Ahmed El-Minshawy, President of Assiut University, has announced the launch of the second phase of the university’s electronic examination system. This phase includes the upgrading and preparation of several examination halls and units to accommodate 1,631 advanced computers, alongside the enhancement of internet connectivity and the overall technological infrastructure to ensure optimal performance during digital examinations.

Professor El-Minshawy highlighted that some quiet study rooms have been converted into both permanent and seasonal centers for electronic exams, pointing to the success of the first phase implemented in the medical faculties.

He emphasized that this milestone marks a significant leap in Assiut University's digital transformation journey, contributing to the improvement of educational services and aligning with the national agenda for sustainable development.

Assiut University Participates in Annual Iftar of the Chamber of Commerce to Strengthen Private Sector Partnership and Support Local Development

Assiut University President joins students in a communal Iftar, extending greetings for the holy month of Ramadan and the anniversary of the 10th of Ramadan victory; emphasizing university–student relations and supporting purposeful student activities that promote belonging and teamwork.

Professor Ahmed El-Minshawy, President of Assiut University, participated in the annual communal Iftar organized by the “Students for Egypt” family under the slogan “Students of Goodness in the Month of Goodness,” with the attendance of 250 students.
