Assiut University Invites Faculty Members, Researchers, and Innovators to Participate in the First Scientific Forum for Sustainable Green Environmental Projects

Under the patronage of Professor Ahmed El-Minshawy, President of Assiut University, the University is pleased to invite faculty members and their assistants, researchers, and pioneering project owners from civil society associations and community initiatives to participate in the First Scientific Forum for Sustainable Green Environmental Projects. The forum will be held on 10 December 2025 at the University Administration Building, under the supervision of Professor Mohamed Ahmed Adawy, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs and Chair of the Forum.

The University called on interested participants to submit their project proposals, which should include: the idea, the problem addressed, the target groups, the implementation plan, the expected outcomes, and the anticipated benefits. Professor El-Minshawy emphasized that organizing this forum reflects the University's commitment to supporting innovation and encouraging projects with environmental and societal impact. He also urged researchers and promising innovators to participate actively and make full use of this scientific platform.

For his part, Professor Adawy explained that the forum represents an important scientific venue for presenting and developing innovative environmental projects. He affirmed that the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector supports initiatives that can be implemented on the ground and transformed into practical solutions that serve both society and the environment.

Faculty of Nursing Organizes Second Employment Day under the Theme “Seeking an International Job Opportunity”

The Faculty of Nursing at Assiut University organized its second Employment Day on Tuesday, 18 November, under the theme “Seeking an International Job Opportunity.” The event targeted undergraduate, internship-year, and graduate students and was held under the patronage of Professor Ahmed El-Minshawy, President of Assiut University, and under the supervision of Professor Mohamed Ahmed Ali Adawy, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs; Professor Fatma Roshdy, Dean of the Faculty; and Professor Nahid Shawkat, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs.

The event was attended by Professor Ikram Ibrahim, Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research; Dr. Mohamed Suleiman, Director of the University Career Development Center; and Professor Ihsan Gaber, Professor of Nursing Administration at the Faculty, in addition to a number of faculty members and teaching assistants.

Professor El-Minshawy affirmed that the university places great importance on supporting its graduates and preparing them to enter the labor market both locally and internationally. He noted that organizing this event reflects the Faculty of Nursing’s ongoing efforts to connect its students and graduates with real employment opportunities inside and outside Egypt, adding that introducing international opportunities broadens graduates’ horizons and enhances their global competitiveness.

For his part, Professor Adawy praised the excellent organization of the Employment Day, commending the efforts made by the faculty to prepare students with strong nursing skills that enable them to perform their duties efficiently. He emphasized that the Faculty of Nursing is among the faculties that receive significant attention from the university administration due to its vital role in providing qualified professionals for both local and international healthcare sectors.

In her address, Professor Fatma Roshdy affirmed the faculty’s commitment to organizing an Employment Day that keeps pace with rapid changes in the job market. She encouraged students and graduates to take full advantage of the expertise presented during the event and to continue developing their skills in line with the Faculty of Nursing’s distinguished reputation in Egypt.

Professor Nahid Shawkat explained that the Employment Day program included two scientific sessions featuring a number of specialized lectures. These sessions provided students and graduates with insights into the skills required and the employment opportunities available at both the local and international levels, thereby expanding their professional prospects.

 

Assiut University Board of Residence Houses Reviews Development Plans and Service Enhancement Measures

Under the patronage of Professor Ahmed El-Minshawy, President of Assiut University, the Board of Directors of the University’s Residence Houses in Dokki and Qasr Al-Ainy held its regular meeting at the university’s Cairo branch, chaired by Professor Mohamed Adawy, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Chair of the Board.

Professor El-Minshawy affirmed that the university is continuously working to enhance the quality of services provided at the two residence houses, ensuring comfort for faculty members and visitors, and reflecting the university’s commitment to offering an exceptional working and living environment. He noted that the university is keen on developing infrastructure and improving service quality in accordance with the latest standards, ensuring sustainability and beneficiaries’ satisfaction.

In the same context, Professor Adawy stated that the university is implementing a comprehensive plan to strengthen infrastructure and upgrade facilities at the two residence houses, in addition to facilitating regular maintenance to ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality services.

During the meeting, the Board discussed mechanisms to improve performance and elevate the services provided, in alignment with the standards of quality and excellence that the university upholds across all its facilities.

Professor Adawy also conducted an inspection tour of the Dokki Residence House, where he reviewed the level of services provided to faculty members across its various units. He directed the staff to give priority to regular maintenance to preserve service quality and ensure long-term sustainability.

President of Assiut University Launches “Green Footprint” Initiative by Planting a Tree in Support of Environmental Sustainability and the Empowerment of Students with Disabilities

Professor Ahmed El-Minshawy, President of Assiut University, inaugurated the activities of the “Green Footprint” initiative this morning, Monday, 17 November, by planting a tree in the courtyard of the Faculty of Agriculture, with the participation of students with disabilities alongside students from the Faculty of Agriculture. The initiative was organized by the Center for Students with Disabilities in cooperation with the Faculty of Agriculture, reflecting the university’s commitment to promoting inclusion, environmental responsibility, and collaborative work. The event was held under the supervision of Professor Ahmed Abdel-Mawla, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs; Professor Adel Mohamed Mahmoud, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture; and Dr. Omnia Mohamed Ibrahim, Director of the Center for Students with Disabilities.

Professor El-Minshawy affirmed that the “Green Footprint” initiative is part of the university’s strategic plan to advance the concept of a sustainable university in line with Egypt’s Vision 2030. He underscored the university’s commitment to expanding green spaces due to their direct impact on improving the campus environment, enhancing public health, and raising awareness of sustainability and climate change. He also emphasized that the initiative reflects the university’s dedication to integrating and empowering students with disabilities by providing them with full opportunities to participate in various activities.

The University President explained that the initiative carries an environmental, societal, and developmental message aimed at instilling values of giving, belonging, and responsibility among students, while fostering an inclusive educational environment that offers equal opportunities for learning and participation. He reiterated the university’s commitment to continuing programs and initiatives that strengthen environmental awareness and student engagement.

Professor Abdel-Mawla praised the active role played by the Center for Students with Disabilities and the university’s faculties in supporting and empowering students, noting the university’s efforts to provide an inclusive educational environment that helps students discover their abilities and develop their skills.

For his part, Professor Adel Mahmoud noted that the initiative represents a successful model of integration across the university’s units, combining environmental, social, and developmental dimensions while offering students meaningful opportunities to participate in sustainability projects and green cultivation activities.

Professor Omnia Mohamed Ibrahim explained that the initiative involves distributing student groups to plant green areas in front of the Faculty of Agriculture, with each planted site serving as a practical model for inclusion and student creativity.

The initiative includes several key components, including:

  • Agricultural Education: introductory workshops led by faculty members from the Faculty of Agriculture on the basics of planting and plant care.
  • Environmental Awareness: sessions highlighting the importance of tree planting and its role in reducing pollution.
  • Fieldwork: assigning students to plant trees as well as medicinal, aromatic, and flowering plants.
  • Maintenance and Follow-up: preparing a regular schedule for caring for the newly planted areas.
  • Initiative Visibility: installing informational signs in the planted areas featuring the names of participating students and the initiative’s logo.

     

Assiut University’s Committee for Solid and Agricultural Waste Recycling Reviews Progress in Expanding Sustainability and Environmental Preservation Projects

Under the patronage of Professor Ahmed El-Minshawy, President of Assiut University, the Committee for Solid and Agricultural Waste Recycling held its regular meeting to review ongoing efforts aimed at expanding sustainability initiatives and strengthening environmental preservation. The meeting was attended by Professor Mohamed Adawy, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, along with committee members.

Professor El-Minshawy emphasized the university’s strong commitment to waste recycling in all its forms, noting that it represents a key pillar of the university’s approach toward achieving environmental sustainability. He explained that the university is working to develop an integrated infrastructure for managing solid and agricultural waste through scientific oversight that ensures maximum economic and environmental benefit. These efforts align with Egypt’s Vision 2030 and reinforce the university’s role in serving both the environment and the wider community.

For his part, Professor Adawy stated that the meeting addressed several important topics, chief among them: reviewing the terms and conditions booklet for contractors responsible for collecting solid, ordinary, and agricultural waste (excluding hazardous medical waste); reaffirming that faculties are prohibited from placing posters, nails, or any materials that may damage trees, plants, or palm trees during promotional activities; discussing mechanical failures that resulted in the temporary suspension of certain vehicles and equipment used by the Gardens Administration in agricultural waste collection; and considering the formation of a committee to assess the condition of shredders available in the gardens and the Faculty of Agriculture, as well as any machines present in other faculties. A technical report will be prepared on the condition of each machine to evaluate repair feasibility and enhance the utilization of available resources within the university campus in support of the project.

Assiut University Announces the Opening of Applications for Housing Units within the Administrative Housing System On and Off Campus

Under the patronage of Professor Ahmed El-Minshawy, President of Assiut University, the Sector for Community Service and Environmental Development has announced the availability of fifteen (15) vacant units within the administrative housing system, both inside and outside the university campus. Applications will open on Sunday, 16 November 2025, for a period of fifteen days. The process is supervised by Professor Mohamed Adawy, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, in cooperation with Professor Gamal Badr, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research and Chair of the Board of Directors of the Administrative Information Systems Center; Professor Ali Hussein, Director of the Center and the official responsible for developing and implementing the electronic application system; and Mr. Mostafa Gaber, Director General of the General Administration of Guest Residences.

Professor El-Minshawy affirmed that the university is committed to maximizing the effective use of its housing facilities in a manner that meets the needs of faculty members and contributes to providing a stable and supportive working environment. He added that the university continues its efforts to develop and upgrade its housing units and guest residences, both on and off campus, as part of its broader plan to enhance the quality of services offered to faculty members and their assistants.

Professor Badr highlighted the commitment of the Administrative Information Systems Center to strengthening its productive cooperation with the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector. He noted that this collaboration supports the delivery of advanced digital services and the implementation of modern technological solutions that facilitate processes for all university affiliates. These efforts align with the university’s strategic direction toward digital transformation and the creation of a smart educational environment that enhances the quality of services provided to its community.

Professor Adawy emphasized that the announcement reflects the university’s full commitment to the principles of fairness and transparency in allocating housing units according to approved regulations. Professor Hussein explained that the newly developed electronic system enables users to enter their data and upload required documents accurately and easily, in addition to offering an inquiry service that allows applicants to review the final version of their application, which will be fully evaluated electronically.

Assiut University President Reviews Ongoing Upgrades to Housing Units and Guest Residences for Faculty Members and Their Assistants

Professor Ahmed El-Minshawy, President of Assiut University, received a report from Professor Mohamed Ahmed Adawy, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, on the ongoing development and renovation works in the housing units and guest residences allocated to faculty members and their assistants. The report detailed the progress in Guest Residence No. (14) in Building “A”.

Professor Adawy conducted an inspection tour of the residence, accompanied by Mr. Mostafa Gaber, Director General of the General Administration of Guest Residences; Ms. Reham El-Hefnawy, Director General of the Vice President’s Office for Community Service and Environmental Development; Mr. Mahmoud Mohamed El-Sayed, Director of the Guest Residences Department; Mr. Hesham Safwat, Director of the Housing Department; in addition to a number of engineers from the Engineering Affairs Administration.

In this context, Professor El-Minshawy stated that the university is committed to implementing a comprehensive development plan for the housing units and guest residences designated for faculty members and their assistants, in alignment with its continuous efforts to enhance both the work environment and campus life.

He affirmed that these efforts support Assiut University’s vision of providing comfort and stability for university staff, contributing positively to academic and research performance.

Professor El-Minshawy also praised the efforts of the engineering and administrative sectors supervising the development works, directing them to adhere to the highest standards of quality and safety and to complete the renovations as quickly as possible to best serve faculty members and their assistants.

For his part, Professor Adawy explained that the university administration places particular emphasis on upgrading the housing units and guest residences allocated to faculty members and their assistants, ensuring they enjoy a comfortable and motivating living environment, as they represent a cornerstone of the educational and research process. He added that the development works include upgrading essential utilities, renovating water and electricity networks, modernizing interior furnishings, and enhancing safety and cleanliness systems within the residences and housing units.

Mr. Mostafa Gaber noted that Guest Residence No. (14) is designated for assistant staff members and comprises ten housing units with a capacity of up to 60 beds. He added that the residence is undergoing comprehensive renovations in carpentry, plumbing, and electrical works, and is currently being fitted with modern furniture and new electrical appliances in preparation for the start of accommodation in the near future.

 

 

Assiut University Organizes Awareness Seminar on “Online Betting and Gambling and Their Risks to Social Security” in Cooperation with Sphinx University

Assiut University organized an awareness seminar addressing the risks of online betting and gambling, aiming to raise public awareness about the dangers of electronic gambling and its impact on social security and youth protection.

The seminar was organized by the Center for Monitoring and Studying Community Issues at Assiut University, under the patronage of Professor Ahmed El-Minshawy, in cooperation with several public and private universities. The event featured lectures and discussion sessions highlighting the risks of online betting and gambling on youth and society. It concluded with recommendations that included raising community awareness, enforcing deterrent laws, establishing psychological and social support programs, and encouraging companies to develop solutions to limit access to gambling websites.

 

Assiut University Launches the “Sustainability from the Perspective of Commercial and Financial Sciences” (SCFRC) Conference at the Faculty of Commerce

The Faculty of Commerce at Assiut University organized its scientific conference on “Sustainability from the Perspective of Commercial and Financial Sciences”, aiming to promote research in financial and commercial sustainability, facilitate knowledge exchange among academics, and offer innovative solutions to support sustainable development in line with Egypt’s Vision 2030.

Under the patronage of Professor Ahmed El-Minshawy, President of Assiut University, the conference was attended by university leadership, faculty members, students, as well as researchers and specialists from various academic and professional institutions. The event featured presentations on sustainability disclosures, the circular economy, digital and sustainable finance, environmental accounting, statistical analysis, machine learning, and neural networks, all aimed at proposing innovative solutions to balance economic growth with social and environmental responsibility.

The conference also honored university leaders in recognition of their continued support for research and scientific activities.
