The particularities of spark channel
formation in helium gas at atmospheric
pressure

Research Abstract
Based on an analysis of the results of experimental and theoretical investigations, modern aspects of the dynamic properties and optical radiation of ionization mechanisms of the breakdown in He gas at atmospheric pressure are described. Primary attention is paid to volume discharge stage formation and its transformation into a spark channel and, in addition, to the contribution of electrode spots on its contraction. The possibility of using such a volume discharge stage in impulse He laser constructions is studied here.
