Plantar fasciitis is one of the most common disorders of foot associated
wit h pain and limitations to activities. Aim: To investigate outcomes of patient with plantar
fasciitis after 12-week exercises rehabilitation program. Patients and methods: Research
design: A randomized controlled trial. Sample and setting: Sixty-four patient with plantar
fasciitis attended to orthopedic department and orthopedic outpatients clinic at Assiut
University Hospitals. patient with were assigned randomly into 2 equal groups as odd number
(intervention group) and double number (control group). This study introduced exercises
rehabilitation program to intervention group. Outcomes were e measured at the time of
assessment in orthopedic department and orthopedic outpatients clinic and then eachwe4eks
f or 12-week in orthopedic outpatients clinic. Tools: assessment sheet for patient with plantar
fasciitis, numeric pain rating scale, foot functional index, American orthopedic foot and
ankle society scale and exercises adherence logbook. Results: Statistical significant
difference (p.value <0.0w5a)s found between intervention and control groups at the second
and third month of follow up as regard numeric pain rating scale (p.value <0.05), foot
functional index (p.value <0.001) and American orthopedic foot and ankle society scale
(p.value <0.05). Conclusion: The 12-week exercises rehabilitation program; plantar fascia
stretching, Achilles tendon stretching and roll plantar fascia with frozen water bottle
reducing pain and improving functional recovery and foot function for patient with plantar
fasciitis. Recommendations: The 12-week exercises rehabilitation program should be
advocated as one of the significant modalities to manage pain and improve functional
recovery and foot function for patient with plantar fasciitis.

Nursing audit is used to evaluate the nursing care given to achieve deserved and feasible quality of nursing care. The aim of this study was to assess nursing care offered for patients undergoing cataract surgery at Assiut Ophthalmic Hospital. Research design: Descriptive research design was used. Setting: The study was conducted at Assiut Ophthalmic Hospital, Assiut, Egypt. Subjects: The sample consisted of all available nurses (65 nurses) who gave direct care for cataract surgery patients. Tools: Tool (I): Nursing assessment questionnaire (include 3 parts; Nurses' demographic information, Nurses' level of knowledge, Nurses' practice observation checklist). Tool (II): Nursing care standards for patients undergoing cataract surgery (Developed). Results: 63.1% of nurses have fair knowledge and 6.6% have adequate level of practice. Also, a statistically significant difference was found between routine care &nursing care standards. Conclusion: Nurses had fair level of knowledge about cataract and adequate level of practice regarding routine care for patients undergoing cataract surgery. A gap was found between usual nursing care and nursing care standards for those patients. Recommendations: Guidelines should be followed when dealing with cataract patient and developing a system that connects nurses' knowledge acquired by lectures on cataract service with the nursing care practice.

ims of this study were to assess patient knowledge about Magnetic resonance imaging procedure, assess level of anxiety for patients undergoing Magnetic resonance imaging procedure and evaluate the effectiveness of nursing guidelines on reducing patients anxiety level for patient undergoing Magnetic resonance imaging. Material and Methods Quasi-experimental study design was utilized in this study. Hypotheses were formulated: The knowledge score for patients whom take guidelines was higher than who didn’t take and The anxiety level for patients whom take guidelines was better than who didn’t take. The Sample was of (60) adult patients from both sex who were admitted in Magnetic Resonance Imaging unit. Two tools were used: Interview patients assessment questionnaire and anxiety scale. Results showed a significant difference was found between study and control group as regard patient’s knowledge about MRI procedure in all items. A significant difference was found between study and control group regarding level of anxiety. It was concluded that, level of knowledge for patients whom take instructions and guideline was higher than whom didn't take any instructions and guideline. Level of anxiety was lower in patients whom take instructions and guideline about MRI procedure. So nursing guidelines is very necessary, which has an effect on lowering anxiety level for patient undergoing Magnetic resonance imaging. Recommendation Pre procedure teaching and instructions should be an integral part of the nurses’ duty in all hospitals. Trans-femoral approach for cardiac catheterization has typically been more prevalent. But, radial access has expanded in popularity due to lower complications rate. Aim of the study: Assess radial versus femoral access for coronary angiography or intervention and the effect on the nurses, patients and relatives' satisfaction. Subjects and methods: Descriptive design was utilized. The study was conducted in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab and Cardiology Department at Assiut University Hospital. All available nurses (30), in addition to (200) adult male and female patients, scheduled for coronary angiography or intervention and (200) members of their relatives. Patients were assigned into two groups (femoral and radial). Tools: Three structured interview questionnaire sheet were utilized for nurses, patients, and patients' relatives. Results: two third of nurses (66.7%) and the highest percentage of femoral and radial groups patients and their relatives (63% & 100% respectively) and (55% & 100% respectively) preferred and satisfied with the radial access than femoral access. Also, the largest percentage of femoral and radial groups patients and their relatives (100% & 74% respectively) and (81% & 51% respectively) had unsatisfactory level of knowledge about types of vascular access. Conclusion: The highest percentage of nurses, patients, and relatives preferred and satisfied with radial access than femoral access. The majority of the studied patients and their relatives had unsatisfactory level of knowledge about vascular access types. Recommendations: Equip the cardiac catheterization unit with simple illustrated guidelines cover vascular access types. Cardiologist should share nurses, patients, and relatives' opinions about vascular access types to maintain satisfaction and help in improving the quality of care.

Febrile neutropenia (FN) is responsible for considerable morbidity and mortality in cancer patients. Aim of the study: the aim was to evaluate the effect of educational protocol for cancer patients with chemotherapy-associated FN on self-efficacy. Patients and Methods: Research design: Pre and post-test design was utilized. Setting: Oncology Department and Outpatient Oncology Clinics at Assiut University Hospital. Sample: A purposive sample of 120 male and female adult cancer patients with chemotherapy-associated FN. Tools: Tool I-Interview questionnaire sheet. Tool II: Patient activation measure. Results: Highly statistical significant differences were found between pre-test and post-test among the studied patients regarding the four stages of patient activation measure, total patient activation measure, and self-efficacy assessment,(P< 0.001). Conclusion: The educational protocol had a statistical significant positive effect on the self-efficacy of cancer patients with chemotherapy-associated FN. Recommendations: Simple educational booklets for cancer patients with chemotherapy-associated FN should be available in all Oncology Units and Outpatient Oncology Clinics. Further studies on larger sample from different geographical areas in Egypt to generalize the results and collect in depth knowledge about FN.
