The Minister of Higher Education decides to extend the application period for aptitude tests until Thursday, August 11th

حرصًا من وزارة التعليم العالي والبحث العلمي على مصالح طلاب الثانوية الذين يرغبون في الالتحاق بالكليات التي يُشترط للقبول بها اجتياز اختبار القدرات، قرر د. خالد عبدالغفار وزير التعليم العالي والبحث العلمي مد فترة التقديم لاختبارات القدرات حتى يوم الخميس الموافق 11 أغسطس الجاري.

ومن جانبه، أوضح الأستاذ/ السيد عطا رئيس قطاع التعليم بوزارة التعليم العالي والبحث العلمي والمُشرف العام على مكتب التنسيق، استمرار موقع التنسيق الإلكتروني www.tansik.egypt.gov.eg في استقبال رغبات الطلاب لإجراء اختبارات القدرات حتى يوم الخميس الموافق 11/8/2022، مشيرًا إلى أن الموقع مُتاح للطلاب على مدار الـ24 ساعة، بالإضافة إلى معامل الحاسب الآلي بالجامعات.

وصرح د. عادل عبدالغفار المُستشار الإعلامي والمُتحدث الرسمي للوزارة، أن اختبارات القدرات بكافة الجامعات تسير بشكل مُنتظم بمتابعة من رؤساء الجامعات وإشراف مُباشر من نواب رؤساء الجامعات لشئون التعليم والطلاب، وبحضور قيادات الكليات من العمداء ووكلاء الكليات وبمشاركة أعضاء هيئة التدريس، مع تطبيق كافة الإجراءات الاحترازية المطلوبة.

وأضاف المُتحدث الرسمي، أن الكليات التي يُشترط القبول بها اجتياز الطالب لاختبارات القدرات كشرط للالتحاق بها للعام الجامعي 2022/2023، تشمل كليات الإعلام، وكليات الفنون الجميلة (فنون– عمارة)، وكليات الفنون التطبيقية بجامعات (حلوان - دمياط – بنها – بني سويف)، وكليتي التربية الموسيقية والتربية الفنية بالزمالك جامعة حلوان، وكلية التربية الفنية جامعة المنيا، وشعبتي التربية الفنية بكليتي (التربية بالإسماعيلية جامعة قناة السويس وكلية التربية بالسويس جامعة السويس)، وشُعبتي التربية (التربية الفنية والتربية الموسيقية) بكليات التربية النوعية، وشعبة المسرح التربوي بكلية التربية النوعية جامعة المنصورة وفرعيها (ميت غمر – منية النصر)، وكليات التربية الرياضية، وكلية التربية بالإسماعيلية (شعبة التربية الموسيقية) جامعة قناة السويس، وكليات التمريض والمعاهد الفنية للتمريض، وكليات التكنولوجيا والتعليم الصناعي بجامعات (حلوان - السويس - بني سويف - سوهاج)، والجامعات التكنولوجية (جامعة القاهرة الجديدة التكنولوجية - جامعة الدلتا التكنولوجية – جامعة بني سويف التكنولوجية - جامعة 6 أكتوبر التكنولوجية - جامعة برج العرب التكنولوجية - جامعة شرق بورسعيد التكنولوجية - جامعة طيبة التكنولوجية - جامعة أسيوط الجديدة التكنولوجية - جامعة سمنود التكنولوجية - جامعة مصر الدولية التكنولوجية وتشمل (الكلية التكنولوجية بالقاهرة - الكلية التكنولوجية بالفيوم "دمو" - الكلية التكنولوجية المصرية الألمانية بأسيوط).

Effect of an Educational Nursing Program on Patients’ Adherence to Drugs, Nicotine Dependency and Degree of Asthma Control among Asthmatic Patients

Research Abstract

Background: To effectively control chronic diseases such as asthma, it is important to provide patients with education and skills. Aim of the study: To evaluate the effect of an educational nursing program on patients' adherence to drugs, nicotine dependency and degree of asthma control among asthmatic patients. Patients and Methods: A quazi experimental (pre/ post-test) research design, the study was conducted in Chest diseases department and its outpatient clinic at Assiut university hospital, a purposive sample of sixty adult male asthmatic patients, their age ranged from 18 – 65 years were selected. Unconscious or comatose patients and patients with co-morbid diseases as COPD or sleep apnea were excluded from the study. Five tools were used, Tool I: patients interview questionnaire sheet that included, demographic patient variables, medical assessment, and patient’s knowledge about asthma, Tool II: Fagerstrom Tolerance Questionnaire, Tool III: Morisky Medication Adherence Scale, Tool IV: Asthma Control Test (ACT) for people 12 yrs and older, and Tool V: Educational Nursing program. Results: Ther were statistically significant differences pre & post the educational nursing program regarding Patients’ knowledge about asthma, adherence to medications and degree of asthma control with (p < 0.001), (p < 0.001) and (p < 0.01) respectively. Also, there was a decrease in the number of patients regarding nicotine dependency post-implementation of the educational nursing program than before but unfortunately not reached a statistically significant difference. Conclusions: An improvement in patients’ adherence to drugs, and their control over asthma disease were observed among the patients after applying the educational nursing program. Recommendation: Asthmatic patients should be provided by continuous education and nursing instructions to help them control their chronic disease.

Effect of Nursing Instructions for Asthmatic Patients on Local Side Effects of Inhaled Corticosteroids

Research Abstract

Background: Asthma is a chronic respiratory disease characterized by recurrent attacks of breathlessness and wheezing which vary in severity and frequency from person to person. Aimof the study: To evaluate the effect of nursing instructions for asthmatic patients on minimizing local side effects of Inhaled Corticosteroids (ICS). Research design: Quasi experimental (pre – posttest) research design was utilized to conduct this study. Setting: The study was conducted at internal medical unit of Al-Badary Central Hospital, Assiut, Egypt. Sample: 90 males and females adult patients with asthma receiving ICS. Tools of data collection: Tool (I) Patient assessment sheet and Tool (II) Local side effects assessment sheet. Results: Most of  the studied patients, (90.0%) had a poor level of knowledge about asthma. A significant decrease in local side effects of ICs; hoarseness, dysphonia, dry, sore throat, throat clearing, thirst, and dry cough, among the studied patients after implementation nursing  instructions than before (p. < 0. 01). Conclusion: Implementation of the nursing instructions for asthmatic patients had a positive effect on minimizing the many local side effects of ICS as hoarseness, dysphonia, dry, sore throat, throat clearing, thirst, and dry cough. Recommendation: The booklet should be available for nursing team to increase their awareness and to provide patients with sufficient information for decreasing local side effects of ICS.

Assessment of Internship Nursing Students’ Performance toward Infection Control Precautions regarding Intravenous Infusion

Research Abstract

Internship nursing students are often exposed to various infections during their clinical education. Knowledge and compliance with infection control precautions are essential to prevent hospital associated infections and protect patients as well as medical workers from exposure to infectious agents. The aim of this study was to assess internship nursing students’ knowledge and practice toward infection control precautions regarding intravenous infusion. Subject: All available internship nursing students who graduated in 2019 from Faculty of Nursing, Assiut University, during their training period within 4 months. Setting: The study was conducted in ElRajhi Liver Hospital, Neurological and Psychiatric Hospital and El- Orman Heart Hospital at Assiut University Hospitals and in South Egypt Cancer Institute. Two tools were utilized for data collection; structured questionnaire and observational checklist for internship nursing students toward infection control precautions regarding IV infusion. Results: 250 internship nursing students participated in this study, most of them (86%) attended training program about infection control. This study revealed that the internship nursing students had good knowledge and adequate practice (100% and 66.8%) respectively toward infection control precautions regarding IV infusion. Conclusions: Internship nursing students under study had good level of knowledge and adequate practice about infection control precautions regarding IV infusion. Recommendations: The periodic refreshing in-service training courses should be provided to internship nursing students in order to keep them with updated knowledge and practice about infection control precautions regarding IV infusion.
