Within the framework of the keenness of the university administration to support cultural and religious activities that contribute to building the integrated personality of the student, and under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Ahmed Al-Menshawi, President of the University, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Abdel Mawla, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Magdy Abdel Gawad Alwan, Dean of the Faculty, and Prof. Dr. Mohamed El-Sayed Abu Rehab, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs.
The Faculty of Arts participated in the annual major religious competition for memorizing the Holy Qur'an, which was held at the Faculty of Commerce, and the competition resulted in the victory of the student Yousef Hassouna Abdo Hassan, the third division of the Department of Islamic Studies, in the first place at the level of the university's faculties (the Holy Qur'an is complete). 
And the victory of the student Habiba Khaled Abdel Fattah 
In the fourth place (a quarter of the Holy Quran) 
In this context, Prof. Magdy Alwan expressed his full support and endorsement of the Quran competition organized by the university. During his meeting with the competition organizing team, he emphasized that "caring for the Noble Book of Allah is considered one of the highest forms of spiritual and moral upbringing for students," pointing out that Quran memorization and recitation competitions promote a spirit of healthy competition and encourage the younger generation to adhere to its guidance and follow its values.

Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Ahmed El-Manshawi, President of Assiut University, Professor Dr. Gamal Badr, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, and Professor Dr. Magdy Alwan, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, and as part of the development of the academic promotion system and enhancing transparency and efficiency, the Supreme Council of Universities issued new decisions to include a number of distinguished faculty members from the Faculty of Arts at Assiut University in the lists of reviewers for examining the scientific output for Professor and Associate Professor degrees, 15th cycle, 2025/2028.
This decision comes in line with the regulations governing the academic promotion process issued by the Supreme Council of Universities, aiming to benefit from the diverse scientific and professional expertise of faculty members, ensuring a fair and equitable evaluation of promotion applications submitted by colleagues at universities.
The decision included the addition of:
- Professor Dr. Sameh Fikry – Professor of Islamic Antiquities
- Professor Dr. Marzouk El-Sayed Aman – Professor of Egyptian Antiquities

Professor Dr. Magdy Alwan, Dean of the Faculty, confirmed that this step is considered support for the faculty's strategy to benefit from academic staff and enable them to participate in decision-making, praising the vital role played by the Promotions Committee in maintaining the quality of the educational and research process, which involves reviewing the files of faculty members wishing to be promoted .And ensuring that they meet the required academic and research standards.

Assiut University held the 'Third Naghm Festival,' organized by the Department of Arts, including the Drama and Music Arts sections. After a strong artistic competition witnessed by the festival, Faculty of Arts students achieved a notable accomplishment by winning several prominent awards in various festival events held this year, earning admiration from both the judging panel and the audience alike.  

The competition resulted in student Mohamed Ayman Hassan from the second year of the Translation Program winning first place in the field of music performance. Student Abdul Hameed Nasser Abdul Hameed from the second year of the Surveying Program won third place in the field of religious chanting. Student Mehra'il Ya'qub Oweidah from the second year of the French Language Department won first place in the field of hymns. Student Mari Atef Rizk from the third year of the Documentation and Library Department won fourth place in the field of hymns. Student Manal Emil Sobhi from the first year of the Translation Program won fifth place in the field of hymns. Student Rahaf Samer Hussein Al-Lahham from the fourth year of the Media Department won fourth place in the field of singing. This victory reflects the college's excellence in instilling a spirit of creativity and innovation in its students, as well as supporting literary and artistic talents through its academic programs. On his part, the Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Dr. Magdy Alwan, expressed his great pride in his students' achievements, noting that 'this victory is the result of continuous efforts by the students, faculty members, and the College's Youth Welfare Department under the supervision of Mr. Alaa Omran, Ms. Somaya Khashaba, and Ms. Suhair Rifaat,It reflects the college's commitment to developing creative abilities and enhancing students' cultural presence at various levels. It is worth mentioning that the 'Nagham' Festival is considered one of the most prominent artistic events at the university level, attracting each year a selection of student talents from various colleges and specialties, and aims to revive literary and artistic heritage and encourage youth creativity.

As part of Assiut University's efforts to improve the quality of higher education and to monitor the implementation of academic accreditation standards, and under the auspices of Dr. Ahmed El-Menshawy, the University President, Dr. Ibrahim Ismail, Director of the Quality Assurance Center, and Dr. Magdy Alwan, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, the follow-up team, which includes Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Abdelnasser, Director of the University Project Management Unit (coordinator), and Prof. Dr. Omar Khalil, Director of the University Center for Teaching Development (member), conducted a field visit to the Quality Assurance Unit at the Faculty of Arts to evaluate the unit’s performance through the performance monitoring model and review its documentation. They were received by Prof. Dr. Sameh El-Banna, Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research, Dr. Essam Adel, Director of the Quality Assurance Unit, and Mr. Ezz El-Mansouri, Secretary General of the Faculty, along with a number of faculty members and staff from the unit and the graduate follow-up unit.

This visit comes as part of the periodic work plan to activate quality assurance mechanisms and continuous improvement within the faculties. During the visit, the unit team presented to the follow-up committee its main achievements during the current academic year,Including the development of performance improvement plans, updating key performance indicators, and implementing training programs for faculty and support staff to promote a culture of quality. The follow-up team praised the efforts made by the Quality Assurance Unit at the Faculty of Arts, commending the level of organization and transparency in presenting documents and records, as well as the effective interaction of the unit members and the relevant departments within the faculty. It also highlighted the importance of continuously activating the unit's role in supporting academic and administrative development plans in accordance with national and international accreditation standards. For his part, Dr. Magdy Alwan affirmed that the faculty places quality assurance at the top of its priorities, and that the full support from the faculty administration aims to achieve institutional excellence and raise the faculty's ranking at all levels. He also expressed that the Quality Assurance Unit at the Faculty of Arts strives to achieve outstanding results, reflecting the faculty's commitment to keeping up with the requirements of modern education and realizing its vision of providing distinguished literary education based on scientific research and innovation.

Under the patronage of Dr. Ahmed El-Menshawy, University President, Dr. Gamal Badr, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, and Dr. Magdy Alwan, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, the Faculty of Arts at Assiut University today, Sunday, welcomed the committee for selecting the best library at the university level. This is part of Assiut University's initiative to encourage positive competition among its faculties and to motivate them to develop library services and enhance the efficiency of their infrastructure.

The visiting delegation included Dr. Abeer El-Taweel, Director of the Digital Library Project, Dr. Hagar Mahrous, General Director of Public Libraries in Assiut, Ms. Hanan Noshy, Acting Director of University Library Administration, and Mr. Hossam Omar, Director of Cultural Agreements and Conferences at the university. They were received by Prof. Dr. Sameh Fikry, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research, Dr. Hind Hassanein, the faculty's media coordinator, and Mr. Ezz El-Mansouri, Secretary of the Faculty, along with several faculty members and the library management team.

The committee members conducted an inspection tour inside the college libraries, during which they reviewed the specialized department libraries and the general library, including the textbooks section, the reference section, and the periodicals section, as well as the modern digital services provided by the library. For his part, Professor Dr. Magdy Alwan, Dean of the College, expressed his pride in what the Faculty of Arts Library has accomplished in recent years, both in terms of expanding its collections and developing its infrastructure according to the highest standards. The college aims to achieve a comprehensive research and educational experience for students and faculty members, constantly striving to transform the library into an intelligent space that keeps pace with the digital transformation in higher education. For his part, Dr. Sameh Fikry, Vice Dean of the College, pointed out that development was not limited to the physical aspect alone but also included training the human resources working in the library and activating mechanisms for communicating with students to receive their suggestions and complaints. Open days were also designated to introduce students to the available resources and ways to benefit from them, which directly contributed to increasing usage rates by more than 40% during the past year.

The members of the evaluation committee confirmed the high quality of the services provided, praising the internal organization, the diversity of collections, the ease of access to resources, and the spirit of initiative that was evident in the library staff. It is worth noting that the Best Library initiative is part of Assiut University's strategic plan to support the knowledge infrastructure in its faculties and to promote a culture of reading and scientific research among members of the university community.
