The Faculty of Arts welcomes the members of the 'Best Environmentally Friendly College' competition committee.

Under the sponsorship of Professor Dr. Ahmed El-Menshawy, President of Assiut University, and Professor Dr. Mahmoud Abdel Aleem, Vice President of the University for Environmental Affairs and Community Service, the university is organizing a competition for the Best Environmentally Friendly Faculty, keen on ensuring that faculties adhere to sustainable environmental development standards. In this context, the members of the competition’s evaluation committee visited the Faculty of Arts. The committee was received by Professor Dr. Magdy Alwan, Dean of the Faculty, Professor Dr. Hamid Mashhour, Vice Dean for Environmental Affairs and Community Service, Professor Dr. Mohamed Abu Rehab, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Samah El-Banna, Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research, Dr. Essam Adel from the Geography Department, Dr. Nadia Qotb from the History Department, Dr. Hind Hassanein, Media Coordinator and Visit Coordinator at the Faculty, Mr. Ezz El-Mansouri, Secretary of the Faculty, Mr. Alaa Omran, Director General of Youth Welfare, Mr. Mohamed Hassan, Director of Public Relations at the Faculty, along with a number of faculty members and staff. The committee conducted an on-site inspection tour to ensure the implementation of the competition standards at all technical and administrative levels. The tour included college facilities, classrooms, administrative offices, computer labs, language labs, the cafeteria, green spaces, newly constructed college buildings, and parking areas for cars and bicycles, in order to assess compliance with sustainable environmental standards. The committee also visited Dr. Ezzat Abdullah Hall, where Dr. Hind Hassanein presented a presentation outlining the standards adhered to by the college, such as infrastructure procedures, occupational safety and health, rationalization of energy and water consumption, waste management, regular maintenance, environmental initiatives, college community participation and seminars, digital transformation procedures, integration of environmental courses into the curriculum, as well as the college's areas of excellence and its future plan aimed at reducing the carbon footprint by 2030 and striving to achieve sustainable development.It is worth mentioning that the evaluation committee included: Professor Dr. Amr Said, the visit coordinator, Professor Dr. Al-Hajjaj Ahmed, and Professor Dr. Rehab Ahmed Zaki, as well as Mr. Ayman Shahta, the Assistant Secretary-General of the University. The visit concluded with a thorough inspection of the Faculty of Arts building, one of the oldest and most historic university buildings, and commemorative photos were taken there with the committee members.

The Faculty of Arts Council approves granting the researcher / Fathiya Tihami Abdulrahman the Master of Arts degree in Arts / Libraries, Documentation, and Information, specializing in (Libraries and Information) with an overall grade of Excellent.
