13 Egyptian Universities at Assiut To Participate in the Specialization Course of the Faculties of Specific Education

The faculty of specific education, Assiut University, organize the second specialization course for the faculties of specific education and fine arts at Assiut University. Dr. Mohammed Salah El-Din Yousif supervisor of the faculty said that the course comes under the auspices of Dr. Hany Helal, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Dr. Mustafa Kamal, president of Assiut University, Dr. Said Ibrahim, Vice President for Student Affairs and Education add that it aims to achieve communication between the students of Egyptian universities through a program involving physical, social, cultural, technical, scientific, technological, activities with the participation of 13 faculties of the Egyptian universities the Suez Canal, Port Said, Mansoura, Tanta, Kafr El-Sheikh, Zagazig, South Valley, Qena, Menoufia, Fayoum, Luxor and Assiut. The course will start 12 Feb. and will continue for 4 days.  

The Session of December for Assiut University Council

 Assiut University Council held its session for the month of December 2009, headed by Prof. Moustafa Kamal, the President of Assiut University. The University Council approved the date of the half-year leave from 6 February until February 18, 2010 where the beginning of the second semester will be in Saturday, February 20, 2010. The council also approved on the progress of Faculties of Science and Engineering for the National Authority for Education Quality Assurance and Accreditation. In the other hand, the council approved the nominations of the Whole of the Scientific Awards for this year, including the nomination of Dr. Mohamed Abdel Aal Hassan Moubasher, the emeritus professor of Botany, the Faculty of Science, Assiut University for Moubarak Award for Science in the field of basic sciences, Dr. Said Ismail el Khamy, the emeritus professor of Electrical Engineering, Alexandria University for Mubarak Award for Advanced Science, which serves the fields of science engineering, Dr. Abdel Razek Ibrahim Nasir, the untenured professor of Electrical Engineering , Ain Shams University for the State Appreciation Award in the advanced science and technology, which serves the areas of engineering sciences, Dr. Iman Mohamed Hussein Khader, the Professor of Disease neurological and psychiatric medicine, Assiut University fo r the State Award for excellence in science and advanced technology, Dr. Abdul Rakib Ahmed Ibrahim el Bheiri professor of Mental Health, Assiut University, for the State Appreciation Award in the field of social sciences. The Council also approved the appointment of 16 faculty members, including Dr. Omimma el Jebali Mohamed Helmi el Jebali, the professor of Public Health, Faculty of Medicine, as well as the appointment of 6 assistant professors are Drs Abdul Salam Abdullah Mohammed, Department of Ophthalmology, Marwa Abdel Aziz Ahmed Mohamed Atta, Department of Medical Physiology, Nashwa Aly Abd al-Muttalib, Department of Medical Physiology, Ahmed Mohammed Abu al-Hasan, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Ahmed Ibrahim Hassanein, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Faculty of Medicine, Shaaban Ahmed Ramadan, Law Department, Faculty of Law. The appointment of 9 as lecturers are Drs Ahmad Kamal Uthman Abdul Rahim, Department of Plastic Surgery, Osama Yassin Taha Mustafa, Department of Plastic Surgery, Rabab Ahmed Mohamed, Department of Pathology, Ahmed Abdul Jalil Ahmad, Department of Cardiology and Blood vessels, Heba Attia Yassen, Department of Forensic Medicine and Clinical Toxicology, Shirin Jamal al-Din Abdel-Fattah, Department of Medical Mycropayology and Immunology Faculty of Medicine, Imman Shaker Mahmoud Mukhtar, Department of Food Hygiene Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Ghada Treshr Lundy, Department of Curriculum and Instruction Faculty of Education, the New Valley. The Council also approved renewing the membership of Dr. Morsi Mohamed Morsi, the Emeritus Professor, in the Faculty of Medicine Council, joining Dr. Yunus Anaam Bakhit professor at the Faculty of Pharmacy to the College council, appointing Dr. Mamdouh Mohamed Imbabi, the Head of Research and Development Affairs at the Corporation Egyptian Sugar and Integrated Industries as member of the University Council for Graduate Studies and Research, renewing the appointment of Mahmoud Omran Abu Akrap, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports Council, to the Council of Faculty of Physical Education, appointing Dr. Mohamed Kamel El-Sherbini as an untenured professor of Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Dr. Mohamed Fahmy Abu Ghadir, as an untenured professorof Plant Protection, Faculty of Agriculture, Dr. Abdel Aziz Ahmed Shaaban, emeritus professor of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology Veterinary Faculty of Veterinary Medicine  

Assiut University Organize a Football Match between the Arab Contractors and Assiut Teams Attended by Stars of Art and Culture

 Assiut University organize a football match between Arab Contractors and Assiut teams on the sidelines of the annual festival of belonging and orphan care, under the auspices of Dr. Mustafa Kamal, president of the university, and General Nabil Al-Ezabi governor of Assiut, which is scheduled to be held on Thursday, 21/1/2010 with the cooperation of "Al-Akhbar" and "Al Maseer Al Masry" newspapers. Dr. Mustafa Kamal, Chairman of the University assured his promotion for the values of belonging through various events held by the university. Where he pointed out that, there are many NGOs and civil society organizations support such activities and participate at them. The festival will also include blood donation for the National Cancer Institute, as well as campaigns of donations for cancer patients and the orphancare.  

For the first time in the Egyptian Universities Assiut University, Build Integrated Care Unit for Students

 Dr. Said Ahmed Ibrahim, vice president for education and student affairs assured the importance of focusing on all aspects of the personality of the college student, and so came the thought of establishing a social and psychological unit care in the Assiut University cities, which consisted of a number of faculty members specialized in the psychological and social aspects. Dr. Mustafa Kamal president of the university add that this unit is the first of its kind in the Egyptian Universities, and it has been successful since it was established, and played an important role in modifying the behavior and solve the problems faced students of the University, which confirm the University's role in the formulation and the formation of students personality and not focusing on the scientific or educational aspects only, but a fully-integrated entity.  

Multiazimuth Seismic in the Nile Delta Egypt Aeminar at Assiut University

Under the sponsorship of Prof. Mustafa Kamal, president of Assiut University, and Prof. Ali Helmy Abdel-Atty, CEO of the club of geologic and space sciences and the supervisor of the branch of American Geophisics Association, a seminar was organized under the title "Multi-azimuth Seismic in the Nile Delta, Egypt," a new technology to discover Petrol and Gas. This was on the occasion of the silver jubilee of the club at the conference hall, Faculty of Agriculture, Assiut University.The honorary lecturer of the seminar was the geophysicist Samir Abdel-Motty, the manager of discovery at the British Petrol Company,B.P.

The 13th International Middle East Power System conference

The 13th International Middle-East Power System conference, MEPCON'09, was organized in Assiut University from20-23 December 2009. This was under the auspices of H.E.Dr. Hassan Yunis, minister of electricity and energy; H.E.Dr. Hany Helal, minister of high education and scientific research; Prof. Mustafa Kamal, President of Assiut University and conference president; and Profs. M.K.El-Sherbiny and M.Abdel-Salam, "electrical engineering department", conference chairmen. Prof. Abdel-Salam stated that the conference aim has been to attract the interest of specialist experts in various branches of electrical engineering, investors, and businessmen. The participants of the conference came from 18 countries around the world, and they discussed, in 15 scientific sessions during 3 days, such subjects as Electrical power systems, Power systems' electronics, Power systems' distribution, Power systems' control, Power systems' computer applications, and etc. 130 researches were chosen to be discussed during the conference.

The 12th Annual Scientific Congress of Gastroenterology and Liver Diseases

Under the sponsorship of Prof. Mustafa Kamal, president of Assiut University, Prof. Maher El-Asal, dean of faculty of Medicine, and Prof M.Adawy Nafeh, congress president, The 12th Annual Scientific Congress of Gastronterology & Liver Diseases was organized in collaboration with Egyptian association for the study of gastronterology & liver diseases from 23-24 December 2009. Prof. Kamal asserted that the conference main topic "Update Management of Liver, Gastrointestinal and Infectious Diseases" was aptly chosen, as it provides an interesting and high quality scientific discussion of the last researches in such fields and clinical presentation of important diseases. The conference also carfully included topics of special interest covering different branches of medicine and featured updated in 4 scientific sessions with participation of doctors from many Egyptian universities.  

The Scientific Conference of the Cattle Diseases

Demands Epidemical Map of the Animal and Preventing the Slaughter of Calves The Tenth Scientific Conference of the Cattle Disease concluded its activities in Assiut University, it was organized by the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, under the auspices of Prof. Moustafa Kamal, the President of the University, and Dr. Mustafa Khalil Mustafa, Faculty's Dean, and in cooperation with the Egyptian Society for cattle diseases to discuss how to increase the supply of animal protein in Egypt to reach self-sufficiency of red meat and filling the food gap in Egypt and the Arab world. The Conference recommended that where animals need attention in terms of food with the deployment of modern methods in the composition of feed rations and with non-traditional methods, as well as interest in it from a health point especially cattle producing milk, meat and work to reduce the incidence of infectious Epidemical disease and special ones, which constitute a major influence on the prices of animals and the cost of breeding, as recommended by the need to focus on the role of more extension in the awareness of veterinary educators and staff into the animal production and to disseminate the culture of maintaining the health of animals and methods of prevention, treatment, and also maximizing the role of veterinarians in this regard through the media and specialized training programs for them, participants pointed attention to the project National veal calves and breeding according to the latest scientific methods with a resolution to prevent the slaughter of calves. Conference also called for the need to make databases, maps describing animal epidemic disease in Egypt as a national project which gathering among the Egyptian universities and specialized research centers.  

In The First Annual Scientific Conferenceof Paediatric Cardiothoracic Surgery Center

The President of Assiut University States: • Paediatric Cardiothoracic Surgery Center is the First of its kind in the Regional Universities • A Vital Role of Assiut University in Offering Advanced Health Services for the Citizens  In Assiut University was inaugurated the First Annual Scientific Conference of Paediatric Cardiothoracic Surgery Center under the auspices of Dr. Mohamed Kamal Mustafa, President of Assiut University, Dr. Maher El-Assal Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, in collaboration with the Egyptian Society for heart surgery and chest. In his speech at the opening Session, The President of the University praised the role of the Faculty of Medicine, for the faculty's effective community service and efforts in public health problems for millions of people in Upper Egypt, pointing out in this regard that Assiut University, is the first university established a regional unit for Cardiothoracic surgery. The center was established for serving the increasing numbers of children with birth defects, and provided opportunities for training new cadres inside and outside Egypt to join the system to work with the availability of the elements of excellence in which the Center provides the ability to compete domestically and regionally. For his part, Dr. Ahmed Minshawi, the head of Pediatric Cardiothoracic Surgery Center of the Pediatrics' University Hospital and President of the Conference stated that the conference will discuss over two days several issues, including Surgery of congenital heart diseases, Anesthesia of Paediatrics Cardiothoracic Surgery, Postoperative care of pediatric Cardiothoracic Surgery Patients, Medical and surgical management of valvular heart diseases in paediatric population, Thoracic diseases in paediatric patients, Bronchoscopy in paediatric age group, Cardiopulmonary bypass management in neonates infants and children, and Top quality management in paediatric cardiothoracic. The conference was attended by constellation of professors and experts and pediatricians at the University of Assiut, and the Egyptian universities, noting that the unit activity and will receive a U.S. convoy treatment during the period from February 27 Until March 12, 2010.  

Assiut University Council for the Month of Novamber

* A Cooperation Agreement between the University and the New Valley Governorate. * Nomination of 4 of Teaching Staff to Scientific Awards. * Appointment of 29 Teaching Staff and the Granting of 49 Degree. The Council of Assiut University in its meeting for the month of December, which was chaired by Dr. Moustafa Kamal, President of the University, approved the cooperation agreement between the University and the New Valley governorate and the Board of Industrial Training, which provides the establishment and operation of the glass industry unit from sand dunes. The Council also approved the nomination of 4 of teaching staff to scientific awards, where the university approved the nomination of Dr. AlTahir Ahmed Mekki, professor of literary studies, Faculty of Dar Al Uloom, Cairo University, for Mubarak Award in the field of literature for 2010, Dr. Attia Al Koussy professor of history, Faculty of Arts, Cairo University for the Excellence State Award in the field of social sciences for 2010, Dr. Mohamed Dehim professor of mining engineering, Faculty of , Assiut University for the State Award in the field of engineering sciences for 2009, Dr. Mamdouh Shaaban, professor of obstetrics and gynecology, Faculty of Medicine, Assiut University for the State Award in the field of medical sciences for 2009. On the other hand, the Board approved the appointment of 29 members of the teaching staff, and the appointment of 17 assistant professors, in addition to the appointment of 8 lecturers. The Council also approved the granting of 116 scientific degrees, including 11 doctorate degrees, and 38 master's degrees.
