Analytical Chemists have developed extremely powerful and sophisticated experimental and analytical techniques to probe the structure of molecules and chemical reactions. These techniques are critical and fundamental to solving sophisticated industrial, environmental, medical and biomedical problems. Hence, our ultimate goal is to provide pharmacy students with the foundation and basic understanding of different branches of pharmaceutical analytical chemistry by equipping our students with the conceptual and intellectual foundation for further studies in pharmaceutical research skills, working in teams, solving problems and preparation of reports. Equip our graduates with the cognitive skills and applied capabilities that prepare them for: Teaching the basics of analytical chemistry, including all methods used for qualitative identification and quantification of all organic and inorganic chemical compounds. These methods include all standard methods as well as the mechanism. Teaching the basics of separating and estimating mixtures of chemical compounds and identifying them easily using standard, mechanical, and computational and quantum methods. Environmental and pharmacy analysis, such as water, oils, medicinal plants, cosmetics, and others. Introducing all modern techniques used in separating and assigning organic and inorganic pharmaceutical compounds and qualifying students to use these technologies, and this in turn leads to the development of basic concepts and skills required to understand some subjects in subsequent years. Modernizing and developing the various methods that lead to encouraging positive interaction with the surrounding environment.

We aim to contribute to the establishment of a distinguished educational institution with qualified pharmacists to adapt the ever-changing demands of the workplace of the future as well as linking scientific research to the needs of society and benefiting from the surrounding environment. The department presents medicinal chemistry, drug discovery, and design. Medicinal Chemists do not only understand the field of organic chemistry but also a range of other disciplines to anticipate problems and interpret developments to help move the project forward. At AUN, we also offer Master's and doctoral degrees in medicinal chemistry for students who wish to focus on a research career or gain the ultimate academic qualifications. In the Department of Medicinal Chemistry our mission is to; Teach students the principles of the relation between biological activity and molecular structures of medicines. Supply knowledge and suitable practical skills in synthesis and analysis of medicines. Contribute in research subjects related to drug design and development. Contribute in solving certain problems of Research & Development in production and research centers by providing our experts and consultants. Support the needs of other Faculties of Pharmacy local, regional and national and related research centers by graduates, postgraduates and staff members. The department’s vision is strongly focused on achieving an efficient drug use through graduating competent generations of pharmacists. As well as providing high-level of postgraduates’ study programs, and conducting applied researches to cope with the rapid development of the pharmacy profession. Our ultimate goal is to equip our students with the essential knowledge that is crucial to generate strong professionals in pharmacy. We commit to prepare our students for their chosen career as providers of pharmaceutical care, health promotion, and disease prevention by ensuring that medications are used safely and effectively to improve patients’ quality of lives. We achieve our goal through: *Presenting various courses as; pharmacy orientation, physical pharmacy, pharmaceutical dosage forms, pharmaceutics, kinetics, pharmacy law, Biopharmaceutics and Pharmacokinetics, hospital pharmacy, clinical pharmacy, pharmaceutical legislations and cosmetics. Besides 12 or 14 courses of elective courses, for students to choose from. * The department is offering diploma in pharmaceutical technology and clinical pharmacy. We launched this academic year (2022/2023) a new diploma in cosmetics. *Delivering academic programs which help the students perform and accomplish their Masters and Ph.D. Thesis  in pharmaceutics.
