A memorandum regarding what was received by the Council Secretariat from the British Council in Cairo, which included the announcement of the Higher Education Program of the British Council about opening nominations for grants through the GOING GLOBAL

In pictures Council No. (144) began its session by thanking the deputies, department heads and faculty members for their efforts during the exams. She also thanked Prof. Dr. Mervat Ali Khamis, Vice Dean of the College for Community Affairs

and Environmental Development, for her distinguished efforts and generous giving during her tenure. She also congratulated Prof. Dr. Nahed Shawkat Abu Al-Majd for her appointment to the same position, calling on everyone to work and unite to continue the march in the renaissance of developing the college. She also congratulated the new teaching assistants, 16 in number, and took over work in the various departments.

Headed by Prof. Dr. Samah Muhammad Abdullah, Dean of the College and Chairman of the College Council, the council began by thanking all the attendees of the council for their efforts during the exams period and congratulating all members of Assiut University on the occasion of the July 23 Revolution.

She congratulated the new teaching assistants who were appointed and distributed to the various departments of the college. She also reviewed the development that had been achieved in The laboratories have recently purchased models and modern equipment. The council also approved the appointment of a number of assistant lecturers in the departments, as well as the appointment of professors based on the decision of the scientific committee for the promotion of professors and assistant professors. The council also discussed various topics for the department councils and the various sectors in the college.

Effect of skin integrity care bundle on hospital acquired pressure ulcer among patient with traction

Research Abstract

Background: Hospital acquired pressure ulcers represent a significant burden to both patients and healthcare providers. Skin integrity care bundle is a set of nursing interventions, each part of which has been proven in clinical practice to prevent hospital acquired pressure ulcer among patient with traction. Aim: Explore the effect of skin integrity care bundle on hospital acquired pressure ulcer among patient with traction. Setting: Trauma and emergency ddepartment at Assiut university Hospital. Sample: A Sixty (33 male and 27 female) adult patients with traction were included in the study; patients were divided equally into two groups (study and control). Tools: (I) A structured interview-based questionnaire, (II) Skin assessment observation check list and Braden scale for predicting pressure ulcer risk. Results: Skin integrity care bundle had a positive effect in preventing the development of pressure ulcer among studied patients in the study group where the majority (90%) of the patients showed no pressure ulcers or no sign of pressure ulcer after application of the nursing intervention while pressure ulcers were observed among more than two thirds of the patients in the control group. Conclusion: The program succeeded in preventing the development of pressure ulcers. Recommendations: Hospitals' policy should enforce the application of nursing intervention measures to prevent the occurrence of pressure ulcer.
