The Faculty of Nursing Announces the Start of the Second Semester Exams for the 2024/2025 Academic Year

Professor Dr. Fatma Rushdi Mohamed, Deputy Dean for Education and Student Affairs, along with Professor Dr. Nahed Shawkat Abu El-Majd, Deputy Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Ms. Eman Ghadir Mustafa, Secretary of the Faculty, inspected the exam halls to ensure the smooth conduct of the exams and the implementation of all precautionary measures to ensure student safety.

Professor Dr. Fatma Rushdi Mohamed emphasized the importance of creating a suitable environment for the exams and providing all necessary services and comforts for students. During her visit, she stressed the need for complete medical readiness and comprehensive security for the exam committees to ensure that the examination process proceeds in a calm and orderly atmosphere. She highlighted the necessity of having the subject professor present to assist with any difficulties students might face.

She also gathered students' feedback regarding the curriculum and the distribution of questions, reinforcing the importance of having the subject professor available to address any inquiries related to the exam paper.

South Valley University Welcomes the Nursing Sector Committee from the Supreme Council of Universities

In support of the graduate studies and research sector at South Valley University, under the patronage of Prof/Dr. Ahmed Akawy, President of the University, a committee formed by the Nursing Sector of the Supreme Council of Universities visited the Faculty of Nursing today, Monday, May 5, 2025. The purpose of the visit was to assess the human and material capabilities of the faculty in order to approve the commencement of studies for diploma and master's programs in the Pediatric Nursing Department starting from the 2025/2026 academic year.

The committee included Prof/Dr. Samah Mohamed Abdullah, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing at Assiut University; Prof/Dr. Ghada Abdel Nasser Ali, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing at Sohag University; and Dr. Safaa Mohamed Abdel Rahman, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing at Minya University. The Prof/y were welcomed by Prof/Dr. Mohamed Wael Abdel Azim, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research and Supervisor of the Faculty of Nursing.

Prof/Dr. Mohamed Wael Abdel Azim welcomed the esteemed committee members and conveyed greetings from Prof/Dr. Ahmed Akawy, the President of the University. He expressed gratitude for the support provided by the Nursing Sector Committee of the Supreme Council of Universities to the Faculty of Nursing at the university. Prof/Dr. El-Menshawy Announces the Opening of Applications for the "Sustainable Creativity" Competition Organized by the New and Renewable Energy Authority in Cooperation

  • President of Assiut University: The competition focuses on renewable energy, sustainability, and biodiversity protection.

Prof/Dr. Ahmed El-Menshawy, President of Assiut University, announced the opening of applications for the "Sustainable Creativity" competition, organized by the New and Renewable Energy Authority in cooperation with the Supreme Council of Universities. This competition is directed at students from public and private Egyptian universities across various disciplines and academic stages.

The President emphasized the importance of the competition's theme, which addresses vital issues including renewable energy, improving energy efficiency, achieving environmental sustainability, and preserving biodiversity and migratory birds. He noted that these topics align with Egypt's national priorities in addressing climate change challenges, supporting the transition to a green economy, and raising community awareness of environmental issues and sustainable development through arts and student creativity.

Prof/Dr. Ahmed Abdelmoneim, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, mentioned that the competition will feature artistic murals displayed on the outer wall of the New and Renewable Energy Authority. These murals can be either a single mural (one bay) or a sequential mural (three bays) that illustrate a story or creative concept related to one of the competition's themes. The wall consists of 30 bays made of pink bricks, each measuring 4.70 meters by 1.80 meters.

Prize Values:

  • 15,000 EGP for the winner of the single mural.
  • 45,000 EGP for the winner of the sequential mural.
    Prizes will be awarded after the work is completed on the wall and matches the submitted design, with the authority organizing a special ceremony to honor the winners.

Participation Conditions and Regulations:

  • Participation is open to all students from public and private universities.
  • Individual or group works are accepted (up to 5 individuals).
  • Designs must be original and new, not previously entered in other competitions or awarded.
  • Works must be submitted in PNG or JPEG format, with a resolution of at least 300 DPI and a size not exceeding 10 MB.
  • Each design must include specifications for the required materials and quantities, along with previous works or sketches if available.
  • The design should maintain the pink brick bays, and the authority's name or logo may be used as an artistic element.
  • Winners are responsible for executing their designs, while the authority will provide raw materials and accommodation for participants from outside Cairo.

The marathon of exams for the Technical Institute of Nursing for the second semester of the 2024/2025 academic year commenced today, Sunday, April 5, 2025.

Under the patronage of:

  • Professor Dr. Ahmed El-Menshawy, President of the University.
  • Professor Dr. Ahmed Abdelmoneim, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs.
  • Professor Dr. Samah Mohamed Abdullah, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing and General Supervisor of the Institute.

Supervision and Follow-up:

  • Dr. Hanan Azouz Abdel-Hai, Deputy Director of the Institute.

First-year students who needed to retake exams (academic year system) took the Adult Nursing exam, with a total of 168 students participating. Second-year students took the Community Health Nursing exam, with 663 students participating. Exams were held from 12 PM to 2 PM at the Faculty of Nursing and the Technical Institute of Nursing.

Dr. Amal Said Mohamed inspected the exam committees and ensured the smooth conduct of the examination process. She emphasized the need to provide all necessary comfort and tranquility for students in the exam rooms.

Dr. Hanan Azouz Abdel-Hai supervised the exams in the labs and lecture halls, confirming that all measures for student comfort and a suitable exam environment were in place. She also reported that the exams proceeded smoothly without any notable problems.

In attendance were several faculty members supervising the committees, as well as observers from the institute, a member from the legal affairs department, medical monitoring members, and representatives from student affairs for the first and second years.

- President of the University: the new laboratories are a qualitative leap in the development of training and clinical evaluation

  Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, opened on Tuesday morning, June, several new development and construction work at the Faculty of Nursing, the total cost of which amounted to about 18 million and 700 thousand pounds. The openings included the clinical examination laboratory (uski), the virtual education laboratory (skills), the five-a-side football stadium after its development, as well as the installation of two new elevators in the laboratory and administration buildings.

The opening ceremony was attended by Dr. Ahmed Abdulmoula, vice president of the University for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Jamal Badr, vice president of the University for Graduate Studies and Research, Dr. Samah Abdullah, dean of the College of Nursing, Dr. Fatima Rushdi, vice dean of the college for education and Student Affairs, Dr. Nahed Shawkat, vice dean of the college for community service and Environmental Development, Dr. Ikram Ibrahim, vice dean of the college for graduate studies and research, Dr. Shehata the secretary of the college, along with several department heads, faculty and staff, engineers and supervisors of the engineering construction department at the University.

The president of the University witnessed the opening of the clinical examination laboratory (uski), which was established for 10 million pounds, to conduct clinical tests for students of final teams in various nursing specialties. The laboratory includes 6 training rooms, each of which contains a bed and a mannequin, in addition to a central control room for monitoring students ' performance, digital monitors, air conditioners, as well as advanced medical equipment for measuring vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature, to enhance the efficiency of clinical assessment and simulate a realistic work environment.

Dr. El-Minshawy also opened the virtual education laboratory (skills), which was equipped for 5 million pounds, to train students in basic nursing skills using modern models and equipment that simulate real work environments. The laboratory includes a teaching room with interactive screens, three main training rooms each with a bed and a Manikan, a trolley for spare tools, and a set of advanced medical devices and instruments. The laboratory provides students with practical training on various procedures, such as intravenous injections, different stages of childbirth, catheter installation, and laryngeal incision, which contributes to the development of their skills and qualification for the labor market.

The development works included the college's five-a-side football stadium, where the development works were carried out according to international specifications, with an area of 22×42 meters. The renovations included the installation of artificial grass, and silk nets to cover the walls and ceilings, in addition to providing it with strong lighting, for one million and 200 thousand pounds. The development of the stadium comes within the framework of supporting student activities, promoting sports participation, and providing an integrated educational environment that encourages sports practice and building a team spirit.

Dr. El-Minshawy also opened two new elevators, one in the laboratory building and the other in the administrative building, at a total cost of 2 million pounds, to improve the infrastructure and facilitate movement between different floors to serve faculty members, staff, and students, and contribute to reducing congestion inside the college buildings.

Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy stressed that the achievements achieved at the Faculty of Nursing reflect the University's commitment to support and develop its educational structure, and its keenness to keep abreast of developments in training and evaluation systems, pointing out that the "AL-uski" and"skills" laboratories represent a distinctive quality addition and a key starting point in the development of the evaluation and clinical training system, through a realistic simulation environment that allows students to learn through experience, and acquire the skills and experiences necessary to practice nursing efficiently. The president of the university also appreciated the humanitarian mission of the College in establishing the professional values and ethics necessary to provide comprehensive health care to patients.

The president of the University concluded the opening by congratulating the family of the College of Nursing on the development projects achieved, stressing that these qualitative additions represent a real investment in the future of the college and its students, and contribute to improving the efficiency and sustainability of the infrastructure, in a way that enhances the educational and administrative environment within the college, and in line with the University's strategy to provide high-quality education, meet the needs of students, and develop university services comprehensively.

For her side, Dr. Samah Abdullah, dean of the College, stressed that the new laboratories are an unprecedented leap in the quality of practical training and clinical evaluation, and contribute to the graduation of highly qualified nursing cadres capable of meeting the requirements of the local and regional labor market. She added that the college continues to adopt the latest means and technologies in the field of nursing education, to raise the quality of academic outputs and contribute to improving the level of services provided within the college.
