Assiut University Hosts “Hayat Karima” Delegation to Strengthen Cooperation and Organize Medical Convoys for Underprivileged Villages

Assiut University, under the patronage of Professor Ahmed El-Minshawy, President of the University, hosted an extended meeting with the executive office of the “Hayat Karima” Foundation in Assiut Governorate. The meeting aimed to enhance collaborative efforts and coordinate the organization of integrated medical convoys targeting the governorate’s most underserved villages and communities.
The meeting was attended by Professor Mohamed Ahmed Adawy, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Colonel Ahmed Galal, Director of the Hayat Karima Office in Assiut, Eng. Mina Ibrahim Hanna, General Coordinator of the Foundation in Assiut, Dr. Mohamed Sami El-Qady, Deputy General Coordinator, and Mr. Ibram Ibrahim Salib, Central Coordinator for Assiut and Manfalut centers.
The discussion focused on mechanisms to organize and conduct joint medical convoys between Assiut University and the Hayat Karima Foundation, aiming to improve healthcare services for residents of the most vulnerable villages in the governorate and support national efforts to enhance quality of life.
Professor Ahmed El-Minshawy emphasized that the partnership with Hayat Karima represents a genuine model of integration between state institutions and national initiatives. He noted that the “Hayat Karima” presidential initiative is one of Egypt’s key comprehensive development projects, targeting the well-being of citizens, particularly in rural and underserved areas. Professor El-Minshawy added that Assiut University places community service at the forefront of its priorities and seeks to leverage its medical, scientific, and research capabilities to support the initiative through medical convoys, awareness campaigns, and active participation in delivering healthcare services.
Professor Mohamed Adawy welcomed the reinforcement of the partnership, highlighting the importance of expanding cooperation in critical areas, especially supporting underprivileged villages, and implementing developmental and awareness-raising activities that improve living standards and advance the governorate’s development agenda.
The meeting concluded with proposals to organize regular and systematic medical convoys, expand the range of medical specialties, including dentistry and ophthalmology, and coordinate awareness seminars within the initiative’s villages. Professor Adawy also confirmed the University’s readiness to receive referrals of humanitarian and medical cases from the Foundation and provide the necessary healthcare and support.
Colonel Ahmed Galal, Director of the Hayat Karima Office in Assiut, expressed appreciation for the leading role of Assiut University in supporting the initiative’s activities, noting that the collaboration significantly enhances the impact of the Foundation’s medical convoys. He emphasized that the partnership allows the Foundation to benefit from the University’s distinguished medical and scientific expertise, directly improving the quality of services delivered to citizens and contributing to the comprehensive development objectives of the presidential initiative.
