Seventh International Conference on the Geology of Africa in Assiut University

Under the auspices of Dr Mohammed Abdel Samiea, President of Assiut University, the Seventh International Conference on the Geology of Africa, organized by the Faculty of Science, was held on the 24th – 26th. Nov. 2013. This conference aimed at providing an opportunity for professionals and specialists in geological sciences from all over the world to exchange ideas, knowledge and related applied research on the continent of Africa. Dr Hassan Abdel Hamid, Professor of Geology and chairman of the organizing committee indicated that the conference presentations included 149 scientific papers. He also indicated that the conference hosted scientists, faculty members and researchers from the entire nation, Egyptian universities, African countries and Germany, in addition to a number of specialists from Egyptian ministries and mining and petroleum companies.
