Assiut University Hosts the First National Students’ Festival

Under the auspices of Dr. Mohamed Abdel Samiea, President of Assiut University, the proceedings of the national students’ festival, organized by  the National Committee for students’ activities, Ministry of Higher Education, began with the title “For Your Sake, My Country: Let’s Start Again”   The opening procedures of the festival were attended by HE Major General Ibrahim Hammad, Governor of Assiut, Major General Mahmoud Khalifa, Governor of the New Valley, Prof. Adel Rayan, Vice President for Education and Students Affairs, Mr. Abdel Hakeem Abdel Nasser, Deans and faculty members, and several executive leaders of the province. The festival started with the participation of more than 300 students from various faculties carrying banners and slogans of the occasion. After parading the administration building the festival participants headed towards the Assiut barrages being one of the tourist landmarks of the governorates.    Prof. Adel Rayan indicated that the festival aims at developing the feelings of nationalism and belonging in addition to tourist promotion by visiting the most important tourist locations in each governorate.
