Having participated in the Second Euro-Arab Conference for Higher Studies, organized by European Universities Association, the President of Assiut University comes back from Jordan. The Conference was held last week in the University of Princess Somayia for Technology in Amman, Jordan. More than 200 hundred university presidents from different European and Arab universities have participated in the conference.   Dr. Abdel-Samiea assured that meetings as such would be a good opportunity for communication with the various universities, creation of new venues for cooperation, enhancement of joint projects, and exchange of knowledge and expertise. This would definitely have a great impact on higher education and academic research. He also assured that Assiut University is always aware of this and therefore endeavors to open new channels for scientific and academic exchange with other universities on Arab and International levels.

Prof.Mohammed Abdel-Sameea, president of Assuit university has issued several decisions concerning new depatment heads at some faculties .The decisions include hiring of Prof.Mohamed Abdel-Hakem Abdel-Baki Ahmed at the Department of Arabic Language and Literature and Prof. Metwalli Al-Saeed Ahmed Ahmed Algahojy at the Department of Geography until retirement. Emeritus Professor. Abdel-Rahman Mohammed Mohammed Abdel-Qadir has been hired as the head of Islamic department at the faculty of law for one year.  

Prof .Mohammed Abdel-Sameea the president of Assuit University announced the launching of a campaign for reducing electricity consumption in all faculties and different sectors according to addressed plan. National responsibility and believing of the necessity of collaborating among organizations and individuals to face our country crises are the main reasons for this campaign. prof.Mohammed Abdel-Sameea is not only seeking to reduce loads inside university, but also spreading the culture of electricity rationalization in the society. President campaign slogan is "Turning off one lamp at your house will not harm but help to Illuminate all Egypt and provide a promising future for energy in Egypt" Vice-President for Community Services and Environmental Affairs   Prof. Hasan Salah Kamel Abdel-Naser indicates that the first steps for electricity rationalize and reducing loads with a ratio ranging from  25 to 50 % have been taken into consideration in Community Services  and Environmental Affairs sector to be a model for others depending on day light and Sticking the air conditioner to 25oC.           

 Faculty of medicine, Assuit University congratulates prof. Issam Mohamed Abdel-Majid Sayed Manna in anesthesia and clinical care for being chosen as one of the members in editorial board of HSOA journal.

The university also stresses its impartiality towards all political trends and its great concern about its students future and ensures that the decision in question has been taken according to university laws and rules as a result of their absence or as a result of breaking laws.
