University of Assiut Symposium Strategic Domains to Analyze and Accelerate Solar Energy Usage in Mediterranean Countries

In participation of a number of Mediterranean countries including Egypt, Spain, France, Italy, Greece, Jordan, and Lebanon, the Faculty of Engineering, Assiut University held a scientific symposium to introduce the project of the strategic domains of analyzing and accelerating solar energy usage in Mediterranean countries; a project funded by the European Union Dr. Ahmed Hamza, Professor of Mechanical Engineering and director of the project indicated that the project aims at accelerating the policies in the field of solar energy usage. It aims at doing this by providing state – of – the - art solutions for decision makers in the field of solar energy usage, in addition to introducing strategic suggestions for long-term policies in the field. Likewise, the project works on the continued enhancement of solar energy usage and developing community awareness of the usage of solar energy. Dr. Hamza added that that the project also aims at developing research work and technical support, devising up-to-date technological methods; a matter that was asserted in the symposium for senior students of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering to benefit from the opportunities made available by the project in its early stages of technical and executive training.

Assiut University President and the Governor of Assiut inaugurate the Conference on " Integrated Medicine ... Liver Patient"

In the presence of Prof. Mohammed Abdel Samiea Eid, President of Assiut University, Major General Ibrahim Hammad, Governor of Assiut, Prof. Ahmed Makhlouf, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Mostafa Kamal, former University President and Chief of the society of Integrated Medicine, and Dr. Susan Salama, Professor of Chest Diseases, the proceedings of the Second Conference: “Integrated Medicine: Liver Patients,” took place in the University. In his opening speech, the university president stressed the importance of the health issue as it occupies a vital place on the agenda of medical specialists and the citizens. The president also assured that the university considers scientific research and community health a priority; an interest that appears in the university’s concern for development and health service provided to the community through the University Hospitals and health convoys touring the vicinity. On his part, the Governor asserted the importance of such conferences as this one, which reflects the interest of the governorate and the university in achieving comprehensive community enhancement. He also praised the conference themes which will definitely contribute to finding additional means for lessening the suffering of liver patients.   Prof. Ahmed Makhlouf, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine surveyed the pioneering role of the faculty in developing the hospitals and providing proper medical care to the community. He also called for sustaining efforts to achieve the mission of the faculty via collaboration and systematic work.

Interactive Learning Unit Project Wins the First Place in Conference in Elmansora

The Interactive Education Unit project, Faculty of Medicine, Assiut University won the first place in the general science field in the Second Conference of scientific research and innovation for students of Egyptian universities and high institutes, which was organized by the University of Elmansoura last month . Dr. Fatima Abu Bakr Abdel Moez, the Project Supervisor and the Director of the Quality Assurance Unit Faculty of Medicine, Assiut University has declared that the idea of ​​the project is based on the production of educational medical films which is the first project of its kind in the Egyptian universities, and it has being funded with support from the Ministry of Higher Education, and during this period of time we product more than 30 educational films both 3D or 2D, and it addresses many of the medical topics such as blood circulation between the mother and the fetus, DNA synthesis , the process of blood clotting and other topics, explaining that it had not only benefit from the project just Faculty of Medicine, but extends to other faculties such as Dentistry , pharmacy and veterinary medicine . On his part, Abu Al-Qasem Sami, the student in sixth year and the project manager said that the jury had expressed admiration for the idea of ​​the project and stressed the need to work to complete and disseminate implemented in the rest of universities across the republic specially scientific ones, because of its great importance in explaining and absorb the information and also convert the dry information to audio and visual information in the form of animated films
